Nice win but disappointed to see Ode injured again. Anyone else feel like he's looking lighter and scrawnier that seasons gone by?

Who is your player of the season so far? Mine is Timber who has been awesome at both ends of the pitch, drive and attitude. The boy is a great signing and a winner.

Big thumbs up on timber. what a player. also think Riccy fury has been quietly and efficiently going about his business on the opposite side of defence. the mad thing is that once this squad really gets to know each others game. some teams are going to be getting thumped by the ARSENAL. I was looking at the difference between last season’s bench and yesterday’s. the difference in quality is absolutely nuts… COYG/ VTH 🔴⚪️❤️.

Morning all Ed's and fellow gunners, hope alls well. nice home win yesterday. very comfortable throughout. in all honesty thought West Ham may have offered a bit more with new manager bounce and being a north v east London derby. could have and should've had more goals. so still a bit more improvement to be had on our behalf. one moment in the game caught my eye, and i thought it really showed the unity in our squad and a real bit of class from trossard. eze missed a sitter and Leo was on him in a flash. come on mate keep your head up. everyone is there for each other. love it. will say gutted for odegaard taking another knock. he was just starting to look like he was really finding his form. hope rice gets over his problem during the break. and lastly just wanted to say zubimendi different class. COYG/ VTH 🔴⚪️❤️.

I've never minded the Hammers, and if Arsenal ever ceased to exist, it would be a toss up between them and Palace I think as to who I would lean towards supporting. I wanted them to win the Conference thing when they did, but I was also surprised to hear some of their supporters 'gloating' about us finishing second again last year.

I'm sure they were singing with (Man Citeh? ) about that and cheering for City goals as they went in against them as it put the nail in our coffin. I may have it wrong who they were playing though.

I thought the two clubs got on Ok and there is the obvious hatred with Spurs we share. Do any other Gunners fans like or dislike West Ham? Or if any West Ham fans read this, what are your thoughts regarding The Arsenal?

Regarding any set of football fans the world over… if your big enough to give it the large… then you got to have the minerals to take it… West Ham fans have a nerve… Declan has always shown respect towards them. if it was me and they gave me the crap they give him… I’d knee slide towards them with my shirt over my face ravanelli style. (a lot of you will remember ravanelli, some younger posters won’t. ) . so it was nice to see decs give a little back. about time… I remember adebayor running the length of the pitch to celebrate in front of us, absolutely hated it at the time. but understood the emotion. we had been slating him, and yes some of it was not pleasant at all… but guess what…. life goes on. he seems a pleasant enough bloke so no hard feelings. if you dish it, be big enough to take it… I love the banter at football….

It was Sy and most people on here ( me included) were putting time limits on MA tenure. Not because we lost or the performance even ( Slot said draw a fair result ) it was because MA and players weren’t brave enough at Anfield. Once we also get Kai, Noni and Jesus back we can rest even more players - C£ty did it for years resting players - but over a ten year period spending a billion £ more than us allows you to do that. I’m hoping that this squad allows us to compete for the whole season at a high level and not drop off like last few due to injuries. We shall see but we are in it COYG PS Liverpool are very good and C£ty why the meltdown- surely they’re still in it too. Baffles me.

I think it's the manner of the losses that worries us the most, Sussex. We were slow and didn't seem like we knew what to do with the ball each time we had it. This is Lot's first time having a "crisis" of this level though so it's time for him to prove that he has the mettle going forward and drag us out of this rut.

Defending a title has always been more for most teams nore difficult than actually winning a title Dracred. United did it repeatedly under Fergie and City under Pep but its always been a huge challenge for teams.

I think the difference between last season this one for you that last season Salah had the season of his career and was totally unstoppable plus you got the rub of the green with injuries.

Despite the banter I don't believe for one minute you are done and dusted for this season by a long way yet mate but I do believe your teams mentality is being questioned big time and you are going to have to come back after the international break with a very positive response to those questions or your season could very easily slide into meltdown on and off the pitch.

Good to see us top of the table before the international break, let’s keep up this tempo and see where we get to. Squad depth is massive plus this season so we should be having a good go at all competitions.
Agree with G62 on Salah comment, this season Liverpool are missing TAA and Salah doesn’t contribute defensively. Slot will improve the issue and there will be real fight between us, Liverpool and City, I also think the spuds are steadily hovering around the top and could have a say in the title race.

Spot on G62 - interesting to see how LFC react to pressure as it was the easiest league win I’ve seen for a while from injury and competition. We gave them a free run and City were poor. Pressure is on as trying to retain plus we have the squad to compete. Let’s see if they are bottle-jobbers or they fall apart with a bit of pressure like a Lego team. #fragileLFC.

I don't believe that we're out of it yet too G62. Way too early in the season to be throwing the title. Ed001 has provided some of his thoughts to why Liverpool are poor this season and it is a myriad of things. From the changes in personnel, to the training, to the change in playing style, etc. Sounds like too many changes all at once. Arsenal has a set way of playing under Arteta and although I don't agree with it, he has refined it and improved on it by buying players who fit that style.

I still think we can bounce back though but it is a massive ask. A lot of it depends on Slot for me and whether he can figure things out to make it all fit together.

Btw SY, if Arsenal wins the league this season, does it also mean that it'd be the easiest league win you've seen too due to competition and injuries too? ;)

Hi Dracred you were without question the best team in the country last season mate, the Leeds team that won the last ever Division One title were the worst team I've ever seen win the league followed by the United team that comfortably won Fergie his last ever title, the Liverpool team of last season were far better than either of those title winning teams in my opinion.

I know a lot of Liverpool fans felt their team didn't get the recognition they deserved for being runaway champions and many were offended by Arsenal fans who were upset about us not getting 3pts at Anfield this season let alone a point, but i do hope that those Liverpool fans are now more understanding of other clubs fans who don't believe you are currently the force your title win last season suggested you were. The best team always wins the title over 38 games and every team finishes where they deserve to finish once those 38 games are played but sometimes one 38 game season isn't a true reflection of a teams overall quality.

Let’s see how this season plays out now we’ve both spent money to address squad. My question is how pressure impacts your team. Arteta imploded last time but hopefully he’s learned and it looks like he has and still is. Question is about LFC.

Hi Dracred I think I posted on here that you had gotten out of jail ( Bournemouth, Burnley and Newcastle ) to be 15/ 15. We missed Saka Saliba and Ode I think at Anfield where if say vvd, Salah and Gravenberch were missing I think our squad depth would have helped us change our attitude. We perhaps gave you too much respect. The worrying thing yesterday was Wirtz Isak and Ekitike we all on and Chelsea had virtually no CB’s and nothing was happening. I’m sure Arnie will be back! I’ll get me coat COYG.

The question is now is can Arnie find his inner Kindergarten Kop and make everything better or will he need to find his inner Terminater and begin rebuilding in January, if Liverpool should lose to United and it will be Judgement Day for Arnies Army and he might need to top up on underwear or he'll end up having to go Commando by the time October is out and he'll need to dig deep into his memory banks to have Toatal Recall of last season. Alternatively will Arnie be offended by the Liverpool fans who are turning on him so quickly after winning the league and choose to become The Running Man?

I agree about the point on the fans on the Liverpool site being fragile, SY. A few have already thrown in the towel and written off the league after 7 games. Tbh, I find you all have more faith in the Liverpool team than we do sometimes ;)

The league is shaping up to be more interesting than last season at least so it'll be a fun ride for us all.

Hi Dracred, i think its absolutely crazy that some Liverpool fans are already turning on Slot and the team and writing off your season, not just after only 7 games but when you are equal top of the table on points🤔 I remember some Liverpool fans turning on Klopp early in the season after he'd delivered your first title in 30 years 🙄🙄🙄

It takes all sorts mate and its those fans who are reacting crazily to your early season blip and who are so crazily offended by Arsenal fans on this page feeling positive about their own teams chances who my jokes about Liverpool are 100% aimed at mate.

Henry is known as the king and well deserved title. but my favourite player who 100% helped Henry achieve what he did for our great club. was the genius, the one and only bergkamp when you watched him on t. v he was great. but when you watched him in the flesh at Highbury you realised… the pure genius he was. absolute mustard….

What a comfortable win. My heart rate never went above 300! Probably could have finished with 4 or 5 goals but we hardly looked troubled all game. Mikel will be telling Gyökeres the goals will come, he worked hard again today and put himself about, just couldn't quite pull the trigger. Love his graft, just needs to keep plugging away.
