Disappointing the way Arteta set up, Eze must be a bit puzzled, in saying that so must Trossard be LOL
On the City goal WTF was our defence doing, it was non existent and it made Haaland look like Usain Bolt, Gabriel looked as though his feet were tied together.
But we recovered well and grabbed a point at least.

As irritated as the fans are for starting Merino over Eze or Nwaneri, I thought we looked incredibly good for the first 10 minutes before Haaland scored. I could see the plan - we just got done by a really dumb error. First time I've seen our defence get caught out like that in years. Once the halftime changes came on, we were dominant again, so this is probably a bit of a wake-up call to Arteta that a win and a loss is worth more than two draws - we probably should be gambling on the win a little more.

Hi Wire mate, the manager put a huge question mark above his own head with his fearful team selection and game plan against Liverpool, unfortunately he reenforced that question mark over his mentality with his team selection against City.
If he'd come away with 6pts from those 2 games he'd have got away with his negative mentality but ultimately he only just managed to scape a 1pt from the 6pts on offer in added time against a very beatable Man City. Mikel himself has sadly given people a very big stick to beat him with and it's no surprise that people more and more people are now using that stick against him.
It will take him a long time to shake off the reputation he's truly earned for himself over the last fortnight mate.

Sure G62, I guess my post wasn't very clear, but I meant that when we concede first, we tend to look overly cautious when we can afford to free up the attacking players a bit.
To be fair to Arteta, I think he's adapted a lot over his tenure, so I think he's going to figure it out.

Hi Wire mate, in the 3 seasons before Arteta came along we had finished 6th 5th and 5th again if memory serves me right, initially he took us to 8th and 8th again which was awful, then he took us back to where he found us in 5th place.
During the last 3 seasons he's put us right back among the big boys and things have been the best they have been at the club for a very long time in my opinion he's done a fantastic job of putting Arsenal football Club back on the map of elite clubs, so no matter what happens in the month's ahead we have an awful lot to thank him for but he's in real danger of losing the crowd, not because of results but because of his fearful mentality.
I for one would have accepted a 1 0 defeat at Anfield as a 50/ 50 game that simply didn't go our way on the day had we stood up tall and went for all 3pts from start to finish simply because I genuinely believe we are every bit Liverpools equals, again against City i would have accepted a 1 1 draw as a disappointing result but simply one of those things if we'd taken to the field looking to show how far we've come and that our approach to the Liverpool game was a one off mistake, but unfortunately it Arteta showed he had no regrets about his approach at Liverpool.
I personally think we are far better than Arteta allows us to show ourselves to be and for me that's far more disappointing than results not always going as I'd like them to go.
{Ed025's Note - im with you G62..

Hi Ed025 mate, it would be such a shame if Arteta allows his inferiority complex to deny him the honour of seeing the brilliant job he's done to its ultimate conclusion.
Last season with a heavily depleted squad he and his players went for it 100% and totally stunned the footballing world by playing Real Madrid off the park home and away, yet now armed with the best Arsenal squad in two decades he decides to try and play it safe, that makes no sense to me at all mate.
{Ed025's Note - nor me G62, which tells me that he is a very good No2 but maybe not a great No1 mate..

Welcome back 62 - refreshing post from you and I 100%agree with you.
For me 6 points were on the table but the boss set us up thinking there were 2 points. He needs to figure out he’s brought us back to where we should be and now we play like the big boys. 1 win is better than two draws. Back when it was 2 pts for a win may be that was ok. Not now.
We do have a lot to thank him for but he’s had a huge wage bill and 1Bn pounds - plus >10m wage.
