Evening all Ed's and fellow gunners, hope all's well. was just reading an article. (don't know if there's real truth in it) . stating that we are considering taking Leroy sané from Bayern when he's contract expires making the 28 year old winger a free transfer. (really hefty wages though, reportedly on £320grand a week at Bayern) . I personally feel if Arteta can get the best out of him, he'd be a solid addition to our squad. just wondered what you guys may think. if he's worth a go with the gunners.? . ?⚪️❤️.

Afternoon all Ed's and fellow gunners, hope alls well. a question for anyone who interested. what is going on with gyokeres.? . so many different things being posted by the press/ internet. it's happening, it's stalled. he's paid £2million himself to help get deal done, arsenal are faffing around over £5mill. Arsenal reps have returned to England negotiations at a stand still, arsenal willing to walk away and move on. also that we are going for madueke from Chelsea. WHY OH WHY we definitely don't need the lad from Chelsea. we've got Ethan who covered for saka last season and did extremely well. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on gyokeres but if we some how manage to mess that up. I'd go for Watkins decent striker massive arsenal fan growing up. (would play his socks of for us) premier league ready and with the amount of chances we create. think he would do well and could smash in 20/ 25 goals maybe a few more. just my opinion though. ?⚪️❤️.

Just chill, mate. He’s coming. Bookies have removed him from next club betting and add on to that what Romano has said on the matter, makes it highly likely he’ll be joining. I read earlier that his medical is due to take place on Friday.
Please, I do not want Watkins. Just don’t think he’s good enough in my opinion.
Madeuke would be third on my list behind Rodrygo and Eze respectively, but we’ll wait to see what happens on those.
Just my opinion, but exciting times ahead that’s for sure!

As in respect to Gyokeres who i have to say i am not entirely sold on, it appears that the valution is about the same on the selling and buying side (£68/ 69 million} if the reports are right, its the upfront fee and the structure of repayments.
Madueke i absolutely agree??% on this Gabi, i just don't get this at all.
As for Olly Watkins his 29 will cost a few quid but he knows where the goal is and like you already said Gabi he is a Gooner. Sesko did not impress at the euros last year. He strikes me as big bloke on the subs bench who would come on and put himself about a bit, but 85 million is a lot of money just to do that when Giroud on a free could do the same job.
Zuba, Kepa and Norgaard great signings. But the striker Gabi mate?♂️?♂️

Could be a disappointing window if we end up getting Madueke rather than Rod and don’t get Eze. Our attack needs an overhaul not a tinker. Why are we shopping at Tesco rather than M and S. Come on Boss man up.
Tired of hearing we keep on bidding way under price or exit clause. We don’t sell well and we don’t seem to buy well.

Talking about taking Chelsea players, I said at the start of last season that I would love for us to buy J Pedro from Brighton.
I really rate him as a striker - young, fast, powerful, but with an attitude that top strikers need, I think.

Absolutely Ed, Viktor plus at least one more attacker would be awesome. Really need a stronger LW. The rock in midfield and Rice should allow the attack to attack more. Evening all Ed's and fellow gunners, hope alls well. firstly just wanted to say. zubimendi looks done, kepa coming in and norgaard looking likely I think that's three good bits of business. I've always kept an eye on Brentford for many years as it's my old dad's team. norgaard is a very dependable player in his position. I mentioned on here a couple of seasons ago that we might want to have a look at him. but got no real feed back from anyone. secondly does anyone really know what's going on with left winger. and striker I'd like to see us go for gyokeres think he would absolutely smash in the goals for us with the amount of chances we serve up. but been reading conflicting reports today that Liverpool are sniffing around and also Man Utd. (probably just news outlets) . just trying to sell a story or two. but flipping heck arsenal please give us something concrete on the striker. don't know if my dodgy ticker can take much more. would be gutted if gyokeres went to Liverpool or united. hopefully the club have got it all in hand and come up with two dynamite signings for left winger and striker. ?⚪️❤️.

I don’t get the July 1st thing as our year end is May and buying players in contract. The Zubimendi one made sense as their year end is 30/ 6.
Liverpool and City etc are signing players and we’ve known for 3 years we needed a striker and left winger. Surely that’s enough time to figure out who we want, how much we will pay and wages.
Why can’t we just get the key attacking options done - we have a difficult start so the earlier we start playing together etc the better

Sounds like one player is almost striking to help, one is flirting the other is asking to move. They are doing their bit - telling friends they are coming or updating socials. Feels like we are the people dragging our heels.

Hi Ed 025 hope alls good. it reminds me of the time every man and his dog knew arsenal were crying out for a cdm when wenger was the boss and it never got addressed. and the arsenal suffered for it. we’ve all been able to see clear as day for the last three seasons that we’ve been crying out for a really decent forward or two that could make a massive difference. totally agree it’s football suicide if we don’t. but surely the powers that be must know this and come up with the goods this summer. I’m just worried the goods we really need could be snapped up by someone else as we faff about. just going to keep my fingers crossed.

Looks like Zuba, Kepa and Norgaard are a given. Fabrizio who is very reliable saying we are talking to Valencia about a young defender (can't remember his name) .
Hopefully the striker and the winger are coming down the channels. I cannot believe that we will not sign a striker and a winger and as frustrated as I am like the rest of you I think it will happen. Having said that the preseason tour kicks off in Singapore on the 23rd of July and if we haven't done the necessary business by then I will start to have serious doubts

Hi Highburybill - they have to sign at least 1 winger and 1 if not 2 strikers. Then clear the decks.
Happy we are linked with Eze as would like to see Ode dropped.
If we don’t get 2 strikers then may be Martinelli down the middle. My issue is he’s gone backwards under Arteta, lost confidence and a bit brain dead reading the line BUT he’s fast and runs forward.
I’d sell Kai and Jesus if we got Sesko and Watkins. I’m tired of sideways and backwards play. Eze would challenge Ode and keep Kai out of that AM role.
We need to be more direct or what’s the point in getting a striker. We need to be more inventive with two wingers who can switch sides. Ode needs to play the ball forward more not run down blind corridors, or pass left or hold play up. Big shift in mentality BUT not too different to the season before last as Ed014 says which is true
We just need to be more like PSG in our play rather than a lite weight City Clone.

Liverpool had 3 on double digits and only Salah worth buying. I’d only buy Trossard for bench and may be Martinelli for potential and that’s a push. ?
LFC had enough to get them easily past the post but also played more attack minded football and a desire to win. Their mentality was better and they kept Salah fit but we just don’t have a Salah. Salah Vs Kai? Seriously - sums it up.
I would like us to get a signing or two done soon also as we are flirting a lot and no doubt low balling and can’t make our mind up. Did Forest already sign a striker?

I’m really not getting this obsession with Liverpool players mate.
None of them, like I said, bar Allison and Salah would be anywhere on my radar as helping get us over the line.
I watched them so many times last season and they truly never overly impressed me at all, even saw them live at St Mary’s and they were awful, Southampton out played them most of the game. They just got the win. ?♂️
The two previous seasons we played way better football than they do.

I only mentioned it because you (14) brought up not wanting a single one of their players. At the end of the day, it's a moot point since they aren't selling and we aren't buying.

Liverpool have a good squad but many key players are well past 30 and in the areas where we are lacking they don't have convincing players either. So in a sense i'm with Ed and wouldn't want that many of their players (if any) but i do still rate them. Wirtz could be the signing of the season.
My "concern" for Liverpool is can Salah and Van Dijk still produce top quality next season and can Alisson stay fit. If not then even Wirtz may not be able to compensate.

I don’t have a hard on for Liverpool however - their manager did a better job driving a belief they should play at speed to win, they have a good enough squad to capitalise on City falling off and left us for dead last year despite finishing at a trot. Something there to say their boss did a good job and if you look at their one season that players like Mac Alistair / Gravenberch / Virgil / Salah etc performed well while some of our players didn’t and some performed well in patches and some got injured.
It had to be fair to say their strike force attacked better and with more speed than ours. So we need to look at that and learn.
They got the ball forward far quicker - we need to learn.
Our defence was far better BUT we didn’t attack as much so protected defence better by the way we played. So natural effect. How do we attack more and not expose defence - that’s something Arteta struggles with in my opinion.
They switched off after they won and won 5 more games than us. That’s a clear message that our “we don’t want to lose “ mentality isn’t a winners mentality and gets us draws.
Respect to Liverpool and a wake up call to us if we want to win the league as if only but Salah and Sake out of the attackers and I’d sell a good few of ours.
Not a hated just being honest.

Coach, mentality, tactics, squad, luck, …. They did it and not only did they get the T Shirt, they won the trophy despite Klopp leaving. We shouldn’t fear change but encourage and embrace it.
Squad, Tactics, Coach, Captain, mentality - embrace it because it’s not good enough as we stand. We come second to whoever has the desire “ They just got the win. ”.

I may be wrong but didn’t he score 9 goals and a few assists last season… his break through season, and never looked out of place. top, top talent. p. s ED014 I took your advice from a couple of weeks ago. about chilling on the transfer front. so much so, that the other day I was in the frozen section at the supermarket and some old dear got her husband to put me in their trolley thinking I was family pack of frozen veg. ??????????.
