Hi Eds hope you are all well. Is there any interest in Thomas Partey as he enters the last year of his contract? Seems we are looking to upgrade him and just wanting to know if he`s aiming to run his contract down. Thanks in advance.

Hi Ed02 is there any truth in the rumour of Aaron Ramsdale to Newcastle? The reason I ask is because I would have thought Nick Pope was their number one and Ramsdale would be sitting on a different bench . Thanks in advance COYG.

Wolves are very concerned about losing Sa and are keen to take Ramsdale to replace him but have other options. Milan are the same with Maignan. Newcastle may offer a good solution that will be of interest to the player. A wildcard could be West Ham.}

Hi Ed002 Sorry to disturb you I`m sure you are very busy but I`ve just seen an article stating Edu has contacted Napoli regarding Osimhen and was given encouragement from his agent. Have we indeed contacted Napoli or is this just click bait? I have searched but couldn`t find anything. No worries if too busy just thought I`d ask COYG.
{Ed002's Note - Victor Osimhen (S) Napoli made it clear to Chelsea who enquired in 2021 that even €100M would not buy the player then and buy now they would look to around double that. He will not move this summer although an offer could yet be made by Al-Hilal will offer him a chance in the Middle East. Interest of Manchester City went with Haaland signing last year but may return if he were to depart. Real Madrid interest is elsewhere and Manchester United have opted for another. Conte wanted him at Spurs as a Kane replacement but the new management has other ideas. Bayern Munich now have Kane and that removes their interest and he is too expensive for Milan regardless of investment coming in. This leaves PSG, Chelsea and Arsenal, and his “agent” is doing the rounds this month to try and get them to seek to agree a deal with Napoli for next summer and give him a large fee now. Chelsea are not interested in such a deal. I doubt the others would be stupid enough to commit such huge amounts of money in such a deal either.}

Arsenal offer an option but are looking to a cheap deal and may offer up a player in exchange. Brentford will likely get an offer from Bayern Munich which suits the player but will lokk tonegotiate the price up a little.}

Raya would be an odd one though, unless Arteta sees him as a Ramsdale replacement, I fail to see why he would want to move to Arsenal. He would lose any chance of international footie if he couldn't displace Ramsdale.}

Surely the role of number 2 keeper is for an up and coming young keeper or a past their best experienced keeper. It's such a specialised position where no matter how brilliant both keepers might be there is no formation or system within the game that can accommodate both at the same time.
The absolute worse case scenario would be taking it in turns to play as with Peter Shilton and Ray Clemence for England under Ron Greenwood.

Raya is an upgrade, plain and simple Arsenal are acting like a top club now. They will both stay for a year and then Ramsdale will be sold to an Everton or Villa type team next summer, assuming Raya isn't a complete flop.

Not long now to the Prem start! Just wanted to hear whether like me you think Arsenal are missing a trick here. Not long ago we sold Omari Hutcinson to Chelsea who promptly loaned him to Ipswich for a season and then sold him to Ipswich for around £20 mill. It now looks like United are going to purchase Chido Obi-Martin -a prodigious talent - promising him what? More game time quicker route to first team? Can`t see it they have Zirkzee and Hojland way in front of him. Thinking if they follow the Hutcinson route they`ll loan him out and sell him. Why are we not loaning him out and if he`s good we keep him if not so much we can sell him. It`s baffling to me but maybe he`s not happy which is why he wants to move. Anyone else confused with this? COYG.

Read a article over the weekend, not sure if it was Just Arsenal, Le Grove or something in that vein, saying the family or people representing the young kid are being extremely difficult to, deal with and we made him extremely good offer but they turned it down and wanted quite a costly contract.
There might be other reasons in play but this was put up on one of the websites.

Massive Kai fan but if as Ed02 says we are in for a striker then its Isak for me but out of interest checked out Gyokeres and last season he played a game and a half v FC Porto and scored 3 goals and an assist whereas we scored 1 in two games. Hoping we`ve decided against Toney and splash the cash on Isak or Gyokeres COYG

Oh and the Pool fan talking about Trent saying Rice is not press resistant and can`t pass and prefers Wharton if Trent playing and picking Mainoo to help out Rice- one poorish game (all were poorish) and he`s written off. I was 13 Ed mate when 1970 World Cup was being played and your right Them Brazilians Wow each and every one of them a footballer. Not just Pele but every one of them. Had a little balding bloke in midfield called Gerson and my Dad who had seen the Hungarian side of the 50s with Puskas and read about Real Madrid reckoned he was one of the best footballers he had ever seen and has for Rivelino what a striker of the ball.

I for one Ed enjoyed the football pre Prem more - maybe just nostalgia- but the North Bank was a fun dangerous place to watch football now it’s very corporate and pretty safe which after terrible incidents society dictated we go that way and they’re right but still loved the pre prem atmospheres! Hi Ed025 I agree never been convinced - one season 22/ 23 everyone bangs on about with 20 goals but 6 pens included! Saka does that from the wing. Forget the pity penalty v Bournemouth Kai didn`t score in twelve games - then scored 12 goals in 25 games (think no pens) so on that form he gets 19 goals without pens - which is pretty good. He also assists. Haaland scored 27 goals but 7 were pens. Kai is nowhere the scorer Haaland is (Haaland played less games) but he is important to the way we play. Unless it`s top drawer and prem ready spend the money on the best midfielder possible to complement Rice and Ode. Isak is the only option for me or Alvarez but City won`t sell. Anyway what do I know but I know a man who does - come on MA get Isak COYG.
{Ed025's Note - i think Isak would be perfect SUSSEX, it looks very unlikely to happen though but you still need a top draw striker for me mate, Kai will do a job but if he gets injured you are up the creek without a paddle i feel..

Hello Sy hope you are well. I enjoy your posts as it makes me think but I disagree on lots of it. We both want to win obviously. However the striker to buy just to get in City`s 11 ahead of Haaland is. No-one I would suggest. I am hoping everyone is right and we need a 20 goal a season striker but not at the expense of potentially scoring less goals! Martinelli can`t be as poor this season ( Evening Mal) but Tross was superb last season and numbers excellent. Improving LB yes but rest of defence were excellent last season.
Calafiori just needs his medical now i think. Don`t think we are ever scared of not losing - we always give it a go which is why I love this club and its ethos. Last season away at City should have been a fantastic championship winning point ( although agree we parked the bus) had we not messed up v Villa. Had we gone toe to toe away at C£ty ( they are quite useful themselves) and lost the title would have gone and out of our hands! A judgement call that went wrong v Villa. Maybe can be construed as not being brave - one game not the season.
We only lost against Villa since the new year in the Prem which is near perfection - at NO point did I feel we were just trying to stay in race and not being brave. One defeat since new year does seem a bit churlish to say we either bottled it ( Bollox) or weren`t brave enough (also Bollox) . As you say we have to Be Brave Be as One which can lead to us being Winners.
PS just can`t see Williams coming Barcelona bound if he moves
PPS Kai to score 18-20 goals without penalties this Prem season COYG.

Maybe it`s club allegiance but Rice not press resistant and can`t pass between the lines? And Mainoo ( I do rate him) but pick him to help out Rice I don`t agree with and to pick Wharton ahead of Rice if Trent plays not for me. I`d maybe drop Trent and play Gallagher and let Rice and Bellingham do their thing. More attacking wise if needed ( some would say from the start - me included) play Rice Bellingham and Foden as number 10 where he should be and Saka Kane plus Gordon/ Eze down left in front three. Different Strokes I guess COYG.
