How does Trossard keep his place over Martinelli. at least Eze starts down the middle.
Bench still lacks a striker - hopefully sort that in Jan.

COYG - let's get after it 🏆💪.

How on gods green earth was that not a penalty absolutely criminal decision. if that happened up the other end the geordies would be screaming for a penalty and red card. 🎶🎶 same old geordies always cheating 🎶🎶.

Hello Gabi hope you and everyone are well.3pts today is a must. Chelsea playing Liverpool next week where as we have a game against the Hammers which no disrespect to them we should win which would take us into the international break top of the prem
Take care Gabi.

28 Sep 2025 13:51:58
Playing Newcastle under Eddie Howe is almost always a really tough game to get 3pts from, but if we are going to be champions its a game where we have be brave and go for those 3pts from start to finish.

Mikels over cautious approach against Liverpool and City has raised a question mark about whether he has the mentality to take us that final step up from challengers to champions even amongst many fans who have previously backed him, hopefully his approach today will go a long way to easing people's concerns about him and his ability to see the excellent job he's done at Arsenal up to now to its ultimate conclusion.

I have no doubts about our excellent squad/ teams capability to win one or both of the big trophies on offer i just hope Arteta gets to the manager who leads us to them.

He seems to have been in his form ever over the last couple of seasons Sally, and he also seems to miss less games through injuries now days. Really pleased for him 👍.

28 Sep 2025 10:38:05
Let's get after The Toon. COYG

Martinelli on LW
Saka on RW
EZE in the middle (Ode on bench)
Gabs or Rice as Captain

Play with intent and let's make a statement PERFORMANCE please. The INTENT and PERFORMANCE is key for how he move forward and start looking like champions plus giving Viktor a chance to shine. Noni will be a big miss as Saka doesn't look ready yet.

Big performance please - looking forward to KO. COYG.

The one that got away……Harry Kane, the goal machine. Already 100 goals for Bayern and could possibly reach 100 for England. Glad he moved to Bayern and got the trophy his career deserves.

That's a bit OTT Highbury mate LOL.

27 Sep 2025 17:21:05
Not really Bill mate, baffling how our academy didn’t see the potential in him, always hated when he scored for the spuds against us but he is one of the best England strikers of all time.
On the other hand, one of our own has done us a huge favour against Liverpool, our turn to do the job tomorrow! COYG!

27 Sep 2025 17:43:37
Can see your argument Highbury mate.
Deffo Eddie has done us a favour, it's must win for us tomorrow
COYG👍👍.

27 Sep 2025 18:21:41
Wasn't he 10 years old or something when the club let him go?

Loads of kids who went on to become great players suffered rejection at some stage and equally loads of kid's who were retained throughout their childhood get released by clubs at 16 to 18 and end up drifting out of the game completely.

How did Newcastle allow Shearer to end up at Southampton and didn't Chelsea let Salah and KDB go when they were in their 20s?

{Ed001's Note - Keegan scrapped the youth programme at Newcastle, so Shearer went to Saints.}

27 Sep 2025 18:34:00
Thanks Ed001.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome. }

27 Sep 2025 19:06:20
Just out of curiosity Ed mate, why did Keegan scrap youth system, was it for economic reasons.

{Ed001's Note - he didn't think it was worthwhile as he had no interest in developing youngsters.}

27 Sep 2025 19:12:59
Yes G62, that’s always the case, we can never predict, however, I can’t think of anyone except him who we released or who left us and went on to have a stellar career like he did. So for him, I always have the ‘what could have been’ thought at the back of my mind.

27 Sep 2025 19:15:35
Thanks for the insight Ed.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome.}

27 Sep 2025 19:35:08
Zlaten Ibrahimovic was arguably a bigger slip up Highbury mate. Admittedly it was pretty arrogant for a 17 year old to say " I don't do auditions " but he certainly backed up that arrogant attitude on the pitch over the next 20 years.

27 Sep 2025 19:57:20
Serge Gnabry was a big miss although not a youth product.

27 Sep 2025 20:27:20
Zlatan is Zlatan :D but we never had him on our boooks.
Yes SY, Gnabry is a good shout, he had decent tome in Germany after leaving us.

27 Sep 2025 21:16:27
Apparently Zlaten was very happy to join us and willing to sign a contract but not do an audition before signing Highbury. Personally i'd say letting a 17 year old Ibrahimovic slip through our fingers was a much bigger mistake than allowing a 10 year old Harry Kane leave the club.

Great news COYG.

25 Sep 2025 17:29:25
Excellent news, way to go Saliba! You will always be a hero at Arsenal 🔥 💪.

25 Sep 2025 17:31:26
And he's in the PL team of the year again!

25 Sep 2025 18:55:29
Excellent news, obviously Saliba stil believes he can achieve everything he wants with Arsenal.

25 Sep 2025 19:47:13
The players do seem to rate Arteta don't they.

25 Sep 2025 19:55:29
They certainly seem to SW, they obviously think he and themselves are close to fulfilling their ambitions together at Arsenal.

25 Sep 2025 19:57:18
The salary on offer dwarfs any number Real would pay him. He’s already on 190k pw and this blows it out the water. Real had already moved on due to the size of contract. Sure that plays a bit as would him hoping to win stuff with us.

Great news.

25 Sep 2025 22:08:06
Rudiger for example is on £245k per week, and I reckon tax is less there, but you're welcome to smoke whatever you wish.

26 Sep 2025 05:18:49
What's the opposite of looking for silver linings? Brown edges?

26 Sep 2025 12:57:42
Not really - I had read that the amount we were offering Saliba had suprised Real and made them move on. It doesn’t mean that he’s unhappy or that he’s fully on board with Arteta but I’m sure the amount of money agreed has had a sway on both sides of the fence and its disingenuous to think it’s all about one of them ; money or his love of Everything Arteta but you can believe that if you wish. I read that Real had mov3 in because of the money.

26 Sep 2025 15:54:39
I couldn’t care less of the what's and wherefors one of our best players has signed. Real do pay if they rate players but obviously didn’t rate Willy enough which is our gain! You don’t say no to Real yep you do! Rudiger left on a free hence big wages so a moot point. Just very happy he’s signed not looking too deeply into it COYG.

26 Sep 2025 17:03:00
Brilliantly put Sussex👍👍.

26 Sep 2025 18:47:31
No No No we should not be paying competitive wages to our key players. They should play for the love of football. Sack Arteta

Bring in the highly recognised SY4 he will turn our fortunes around with his positive attitude and vast experience and knowdlege of the game.

Get a grip pal we secured the services of our rock in defense, the partnership between him and gabs you can't put a price onit. Take a day off and enjoy it.

26 Sep 2025 20:28:38
G4E - thank you. At least I have an opinion, shared it over the years and guess what. A lot of it is being thrown at Arteta now - bottle job, tactics, in game management etc… I am very happy that he’s signed - yes, excellent news. But why throw in “the players must back Arteta, ” I am just saying the massive wage increase that Real couldn’t compete with will have had a say in it and why do we overpay on wages. Who else would pay Kai and Trossard what we did. We struggle to sell eg Zin. So we pay Kai the same wage as Isak! Is that competitive or stupid. This Pro-Arteta bandwagon is coming to an end. I guess you were one of those people who never thought Kai was any good but once Arteta overpaid for him - he’s better than slice bread because you have to agree with everything he does.
I am a novice and don’t know a lot but I have conviction. I have praised him, the players etc but I am critical. How about you think for yourself and share an
opinion., stay away from personal digs and post something sensible yourself.
It’s a banter site not a school yard. Very so often you pop up and have a dog saying I’m not a fan or know crap. Who knows, I might surprise you…

Hope you are well and the world brings you happiness.

26 Sep 2025 20:30:12
Agree 100% Sussex - excellent news.

25 Sep 2025 11:25:07
Lovely to see Gykores get the Gerd Muller trophy. 54 goals in 52 games last year!

Once he gets the service he needs we will hopefully see some of that here in the PL 😀
My view is we have for so long tried to weave our way through on goal it is a big adjustment to target one striker.

Bring it on!

Does anyone on here worry about the number of chances we create considering the amount of possession we have because I think it is a real issue. We control games up to the final third but do not seem to be able to cut through organised defences these problems were evident again last night. Also is it just me but does Ethan N totally underwhelm when he gets a chance to play?

Agree3 Disagree1

25 Sep 2025 10:02:03
Agree on both the points Oleary, in my post below, I expressed the same worry/ fear. There’s no confidence that we will score goals, too predictable and always ready to pass back to the CBs rather than the CF. Nwaneri does perform below expectations when he gets a chance and get a feeling that his attitude is ‘I have made it’ but he is still very young so hoping he will get better at everything.

25 Sep 2025 15:53:31
Hi oleary. Hope you're good 👍
Not sure I agree with Nwanieri comment, I think his performances have been OK. They were better last season when he had a run of games, in fact he was our best player for most of them. Maybe, because he performed so well, then didn't get many opportunities after that might of affected him, I don't know. But, for his age, he's certainly not disappointing me. Maybe because of his early showings we were expecting big things constantly, don't know. Probably same with MLS, not sure what's happening there.
Anyway, let's hope this future arsenal breed carry on the levels they've previously shown.

25 Sep 2025 17:05:36
Let's hope so ramsgate but our lack of a cutting edge is worrying it's not as if we are missing chances but we are not creating them!

25 Sep 2025 17:46:13
Can't argue with that. The amount of creative players we have, and the amounts all these players are creating, is a concern.

25 Sep 2025 20:38:29
Time to worry is when Arteta has coached the forward play out of Eze, Noni and Dowman. Looks like Dowman is playing it more sideways now. if Arteta somehow manages that - yes I will be afraid. He’s done it to plenty others.

Creativity is in the team - my only fear is Arteta’s fear of attacking and playing it forward plus if he doesn’t change that the club will still stick with him regardless as we’ve backed him so well.

25 Sep 2025 21:11:14
We are a fearful lot aren’t we COYG.
