I'm expecting a tough game. Luton haven't got great results but to me it seems they always trouble their opponents even if they end up losing. We ourselves are coming from a huge title showdown and i don't think we'll be performing anywhere near our best level. Thankfully we have a home game. April is crazily packed so we need to keep getting results with very little preparation time, hopefully we can manage. It's the same for the other contenders of course.

Defo Ice mate
Just been speaking to a mate and he is looking at 4nil plus but I think it will be a lot tighter but still 3 pts for us.

03 Apr 2024 18:19:18
Hi Ice, I actually think the players will be well pumped up for tonight's game after more than holding their own away from home against English/ European/ World Champions who they have previously struggled to compete with as equals. In my opinion the players belief in their own ability to win this seasons title will have gone up several notches after Sunday and they will be extremely aware of how bad they would feel if they allowed all their hard work go to waste now by not being 100% up for the Luton game and the other 8 games that follow it.

03 Apr 2024 18:55:17
I'm predicting 3 points as well but not expecting it to be easy. And i expect the players to turn up and give it all they've got. But the thing is, i suspect the best we can do today will be a lot worse compared to what we can normally do. Maybe it doesn't make sense but that's the feeling i've got. City away has to have been the most anticipated game of our season especially after what happened last season. It must have been draining especially mentally. So how much have we got left in the tank for Luton physically and mentally?

It's crazy but right now i feel that if we can get the win today we can win all of the remaining games as well.

03 Apr 2024 19:27:55
I understand your logic and thinking Ice I just happen to think the very opposite will happen mate. Its amazing how the legs and mind just don't feel the strain when your riding the biggest wave of your life. I liken it to be 21 years old on an 18 to 30s holiday, somehow you can easily get away with 3 or 4 hours sleep a night for a fortnight when your having the time of your life when back home anything less than 8 to 9 hours a night and your out on your feet most the day.

03 Apr 2024 19:52:47
Fuge. I've just seen the line up, huge gamble in my opinion, hope it pays off ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿคซ๐Ÿซฃ.

03 Apr 2024 20:27:42
I get that point as well. But guessing from your name i have a bit more recent memory about being 21 and i can assure you that even if you feel limitless you still do have them :)

But so far so good. Odegaard certainly hasn't lost any of his drive and determination.

03 Apr 2024 22:22:46
Loving the image 47 of you with short spiky hair singlet vest bermudas on a bar crawl with a straw donkey for company pushing on through with eight shots of Portuguese Fire-water Medronho made from the hallucinogenic berries in Mon Chiche! I expect Sharpie and Mal were there too! Good win never in doubt rested legs particularly Rice who played twice for England, Jesus Martinelli and Saka . Right whoโ€™s with me to the Bar A Nau or Never for some Medronho shots COYG ๐Ÿฅด ๐Ÿฅด๐Ÿฅด.

Not forgetting Ed25 all glasses permed hair dropping his shoulder in his maroon budgies celebrating Evertonโ€™s survival in the Prem! Happy Days COYG.

{Ed025's Note - i did used to have a perm in the 70,s SUSSEX, but now my hair is grey and i would look like Lily Savage mate.. :)

03 Apr 2024 22:57:22
I had a perm and tash in the 70s and mullet in the 80s Ed025, now I got a head full of wonderful memories of fun filled times but extremely short on the flushing follicles front.

{Ed025's Note - sound like in the 70,s you were only a shell tracksuit short of being a proper "scouser" G62.. :) good win tonight that mate..

03 Apr 2024 23:09:29
Sussex, if there was any sort of session Iโ€™d be their.

I may not remember it but Iโ€™m sure I was their.

03 Apr 2024 23:39:35
I don`t doubt it for one minute Mal I just can`t corroborate it. For full disclosure I was full Paul Weller suede head late 70`s and 8o`s during the Terry Neill Don Howe era then full on surfer long hair in George`s era and as far as I remember a bowl cut in 70`s. Had a lotto shell suit at work late 80`s Calm down Calm down! Might be at Brighton trying to sit on my hands on Saturday COYG.

05 Apr 2024 10:05:49
How old are you geezers? I was born mid seventies. I hadn't yet found Arsenal in the Terry Neill and Don Howe era.

Ed25,

I understand you plastering all over these pages that yesterdays game was the 'most boring in history' etc.

However, how many times this season have Arsenal bored you with their play? We are the leagues top scorers and we also have the best defence of the 20 teams.

Yesterday we approached the game with the objective of not losing it. We achieved that objective and are still very much in with a chance of winning the title. Not many teams stop City from scoring against them and we have managed it twice this season. The only other team were Aston Villa.

I apologise on Arteta's behalf for all those who were bored yesterday. I couldn't care a less how we got that point though. It's not as if we approach every game in that manner.

{Ed025's Note - as i said previously Jim i have been impressed by Arsenal this season and the borefest yesterday was citys doing as well, there was a lot on the line mate and i get the cautious approach, but as a neutral im just expressing how deflating it was from a spectators view, i know you dont give a toss what people think and thats fair enough but these are 2 of the best teams in Europe for me and i cant help how i feel, good luck though even though playing Jesus was a mistake imo i think hes bloody useless..

Agree0 Disagree1

01 Apr 2024 16:44:09
It's all about opinions, and I totally get why neutral fans were disappointed and felt let down by us not going for it yesterday, it's a bit like watching who wants to be a millionaire on TV and TV viewers all over the country urging the content who's on half a million to gamble everything for their entertainment, of course they want to know what would have happened because they themselves have absolutely nothing to lose either way, but for the contestant and their supporters there is everything to be lost as well as the jackpot to be gained by throwing caution to the wind.

Most Arsenal fans i know are over the moon happy with a draw at City, and just imagine how upset and really angry the tiny minority of Arsenal fans who aren't happy about yesterday's draw would have felt if we'd really gone for it and got stuffed 3 or 4 nil, yet again? They'd have then been calling the team and manager naive useless and been demanding change no doubt ๐Ÿ˜Š

You can please some of the people some of the time, and they are definitely the ones you should worry about and concentrate on in my book ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š.

01 Apr 2024 17:09:17
Personally i didn't find the game to be boring. For me the game becomes boring when a team doesn't try or plays without a plan or if the other team is overwhelmingly superior. This game was tight and suspenseful, i had a real sense that it could go either way. So i liked the game very much and i'm reasonably happy with the result too :)

I don't think we wanted to defend that deep. We played our pressing game but City were so good at diffusing it we had to react by dropping deep. Then going forward we clearly wanted to simply bypass the press with a long ball and get the second ball. I feel like Raya's delivery was a bit subpar though and that meant we ended up surrendering possession to City a bit too often. I think those factors made the game a bit monotonous and that's probably the reason most people didn't enjoy it that much.

{Ed014's Note - I didnโ€™t find it boring at all, we nullified them almost completely whilst making the best chances to win the game despite our lack of possession.

Arteta has been slagged off for a supposed lack of tactical nous but heโ€™s being hitting that bollox out of the park all season!

01 Apr 2024 17:56:56
Hi Ice mate, we were heavily emotionally invested in the game and because the stakes were so high we couldn't switch off for minute, but I get the neutral point of view.

I have to say because it was against the world champions who have been consistently the best in England for some years now yesterday very much to be enjoyed and celebrated as a huge success ๐Ÿ‘.

01 Apr 2024 18:21:08
It was not a goal fest as some expected it to be especially with the amount of goals we have recently been putting away. For me we just could not afford to loose the game a win would be a bonus. A few seasons back and we played Totenham where a draw would have been sufficient for us and keptu son course for top 4, we blew it as we went out for the win and lost complete control of the game players good injured/ suspended and we lost top 4 spot too. Important thing is we are still init and we are still lokking good for the run in. For the mutual it may have been boring but for us Arsenal fans we live to fight another day. Agree with the sentiment that I don't think Jesus should be starting I think super sub for him at minute.

{Ed025's Note - it was a good result G4E there is no doubt about it, now the hard work starts where defeat is not an option which is a hell of a lot of pressure mate..

01 Apr 2024 19:19:41
Both games against city were boring, but every city game is boring. We took 4 points - who coulda expected that?!

02 Apr 2024 01:18:42
Agree guys our teams needs us the fans more than ever now. We need to pull together and push the team even further with our support the next 8 games now need to be treated as finals every time we can not afford any flip ups. Teams are going to be upping their games up against us that much more. Tottenham already have given up hope of getting champions league and now only see putting a dent in our stride as their number 1 ambition for the season. Come on you gooners letโ€™s get behind the team manager n club.

02 Apr 2024 08:53:50
Hi G4 I think pretty much everyone is behind the team and manager mate, as for the run in hopefully in a few weeks we might meet 1 or 2 teams who's players already have their swimming trunks and suntan lotion on .

01 Apr 2024 02:29:21
Our remaining fixtures are the toughest, but I think the team is doing much better under pressure this season and I'm not fazed at all.
I really believe this season will go to the final game.

Hi Moe mate, it's difficult but we just have to focus on and worry about what we do ourselves and not worry about what Liverpool and City do. 9 games left and if 92 points isn't enough then so be it ๐Ÿ‘.

Control the Controllable as they say, personally I'd be absolutely delighted if we get 8 wins and a draw and end up on 90pts, that would be an outstanding total for our young team and would equal the invincibles total, can we reasonably ask for more than that?

01 Apr 2024 19:17:01
Win 9 games and we win the league imo, liverpool will falter.

{Ed014's Note - oh from what Iโ€™ve been reading on the Liverpool page theyโ€™ve already won it, Klopp certainly celebrated like it after they beat Brighton.

Personally I think he should have just gone down the tunnel, but hey! ๐Ÿ˜‚

31 Mar 2024 23:03:03

Totally agree Bill, how longs it been since we out pointed both City and Liverpool in the head to head clashes in the same season.

We've got our big boy pants well and truly back on, and looking damed handsome in them too ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’ช.

31 Mar 2024 19:43:44
Hey bill, John n ed14

A well deserved point, our back 5 are immense.

{Ed014's Note - evening Mal and totally agree.

31 Mar 2024 20:09:53
Absolutely Mark mate, what a difference a year has made to our young team.

This Arsenal's performance was full of everything we needed but just didn't have to give last year away to City during the run in.

This is in no way meant as having a go at the boys of 22/23 they did us well proud ๐Ÿ‘ it's meant as a compliment to young men of Arsenal 23/24.

01 Apr 2024 02:26:44
The boys did really well, we could've won it, we were more dangerous with our chances, I think the last one if trossard passed to Martinelli it might have gone differently. But good pointe nonetheless.

01 Apr 2024 08:02:17
Mal, where were you yesterday?

01 Apr 2024 10:28:13
Gutted I couldn't watch live yesterday but from MOTD it looked like we have claimed parking the bus as our own lol
Super proud of our boys!

{Ed025's Note - you didn,t miss much Sally, one of the worst games ever seen in the Premierships history mate...and im an Evertonian so thats saying something.. :)

01 Apr 2024 11:05:40
I thought it was a really mature performance from our team Sally and Ed025 mate, last we were caught between trying to stick to our natural attacking instincts and the need to respect City as the very formidable opponents they are and ended up getting done like kippers, this season everyone knew and stuck to the game plan both home and away and we came away with 4pth apposed to last seasons 0 points.

Personally I think we are extremely close to being able to be every bit as resilient and difficult to score past as we ever were under George and as flamboyant and exciting as we ever were under Arsene, and is that not everything we've been dreaming of for nearly years now?

{Ed025's Note - it was like a game of chess to me G62, lots of pointless passing and very few chances mate, it is of course a better point for the gunners but the losers here were the fans imo, 2 of the best 3 teams in the Premiership going head to head i was hoping for a blockbuster...but we got a damp squib, i have enjoyed watching the gooners this season and think you are a very good team, but lets not gloss over the fact that yesterday was absolutely dreadful as a spectacle..

01 Apr 2024 11:59:27
Hey sharpie, I went out for lunch and drinks off course and forgot my phone.

01 Apr 2024 12:06:12
Absolutely it was Ed025 mate, but us older fans endured many a game like this under George on the way to celebrating title wins, I can take the odd one or two games like this a season against the likes of City or Real if it means competing at the very top again mate. You young pups don't know your born ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š.

{Ed025's Note - the draw was a good result for Arsenal G62, but it does put you playing catch up to Liverpool and i think that with a bit more positivity and belief that city were there for the taking mate, i still hope you win it though..

01 Apr 2024 14:49:27
There`s no other way to dress it up for the neutral it was awful - but for me the nerves were there for 90 mins and the only better result for us was a win at Cยฃty. Not many have done that in recent memory. Too much at stake and a draw keeps us within a Pool draw and a win for us to go top. Liverpool page full of how terrible it was but then again someone on their page ` Kevin De Bruyne Is He All That`. If we or Cยฃty win the league no-one will remember this game but we`ll treasure the point gained. If Pool win it then us and Cยฃty will regret not having a go. KDB is he all that COYG Long way to go and be prepared for the rollercoaster - loving the ride.

01 Apr 2024 15:04:54
They certainly were there for the taking mate but anyone who underestimates Cities tried and every well tested ability rip you apart in seconds usually pays the price. Personally I think we got our game about right yesterday. Exciting or dull a point at City is a point gained rather than 2 points dropped no matter how good the visitors themselves are in my opinion mate ๐Ÿ‘.

{Ed025's Note - yeah the point was a good one G62, no doubt about that mate..

01 Apr 2024 17:07:24
Cheers Ed025 mate ๐Ÿ‘ and I really do get how the game was a let a big down for the neutral viewers, I'd have been bored stiff if it was a Barcelona v Real Madrid game I was watching and would have definitely felt I could have spent 2 hours of mytime better by looking at cloud formations to see if I could predict the lottery jackpot numbers in them ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š.

{Ed025's Note - nothing is guaranteed in football G62, yes style wise it was poor but i believe you went there for a draw and it got delivered so job done, we dont need any slip ups now though mate and i believe maybe 2 draws maximum could see you scrape home...good luck..

01 Apr 2024 18:11:51
I'm thinking we will probably need 25 of the 27 points available Ed025 mate as I'm not expecting to many slip ups from either of the other two two teams mate. Of course I want to win the title but if we get 90 points and its not enough then fair play, it would still be only the second time in our history we'd hit 90pts in a season and with a young side who's best days should be yet to come (fingers crossed ๐Ÿคž) I'd have absolutely no complaints whatsoever mate.

{Ed025's Note - i think your about right mate..

31 Mar 2024 15:40:41
Any preferred lineups for today? Not sure if Sake, Martinelli or Gabi are playing. Is Tommy back from injury?

Hi all long time no speak, Iโ€™ve been reading a lot about a ten man striker shortlist, as you will probably know who is on there, I was wondering who is your preferred option and why, mine would be victor gyokeres, great on the ball very strong and when heโ€™s in the box heโ€™s very selfish and is always looking too get the ball in the net. also heโ€™s been in the championship which is a tough league and banged them in, him and zubimendi would be an outstanding summer window,
