Shoutout to Ed002 and all the eds for their hard work this crazy transfer window. Thank you all, hope you are having a lie-in this morning ? ?.

Good afternoon ed002, is there a possibility Arsenal might be in for Santiago Gimenez at this late hour?
{Ed002's Note - Santiago Gimenez (S) Had another good season at Feyenoord and attracting interest of Milan, Arsenal, Chelsea, Lille, Spurs, Real Madrid, Napoli and Eintracht Frankfurt. He has become the first choice Harry Kane replacement for Spurs after they lost out on their preferred option last summer but not first choice for Chelsea or Real Madrid - although don't discount either. Spurs have an advantage that Feyenoord are interested in a Spurs player, Barcelona may offer a wildcard option following a discussion between Deco and someone they are trying to recruit. Arsenal sent scouts but have preferred options, although they are falling by the wayside so don't discuss them. Others, such as Nottingham Forest, Marseille, Crystal Palace and West Ham can be discounted. Lille and Eintracht Frankfurt would only be viable if they make significant sales and others drop out. Cost could be pretty high - they will look for perhaps €55M - ending interest of most of these clubs. Don't discount Napoli who are planning for life after Osimhen or Milan after failing with Sesko.}

Thanks as always ed002 ?.

Interesting to see we are being linked with Leroy Sane.
10 Jul 2024 09:41:17
Morning ed002, do Arsenal still have Toney as their first choice striker?
{Ed002's Note - Ivan Toney (S) Brentford do not want to sell but are aware Toney may look to move up a step and will reluctantly look to perhaps £70M as a sale price in the summer - but will likely not get anything close to that. It would be driven by situation which could see him run down his contract next season and leave as a Free Agent - so Brentford will seek a new cantract. Newcastle no longer offer the chance of a return to the club who previously could find no use for him in the three years he was there. Arsenal, Leeds, Manchester United, Spurs, Chelsea and West Ham have all sent scouts on more than one occasion to watch him prior to his ban, but Chelsea and Spurs have preferred options meaning West Ham, Arsenal or Manchester United are likely best placed to complete a transfer, lthough Spurs are struggling to sign their two preferred choices and may turn to him. Was first choice for Arsenal but that has disappeared as the price does not drop to perhaps £40M. Aston Villa are losing Duran and could look to him.}
1.) 10 Jul 2024 11:03:19
Great info Ed, thanks. Do Arsenal have a ‘first choice’ forward option? Intrigued to know if we will go for a main striker or a wide forward.
{Ed002's Note - It probably looks like this right now:
Karim Adeyemi (LW/S) Versatile forward who has not regained his form since moving to Dortmund and has been rather inconsistant. Prior interest of Atalanta fhas gone. Offered to Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool but each has preferred options. A wildcard might be Juventus as cover.
Jonathan David (S/AM) Lille, like many French clubs were hit hard by the loss of broadcast revenue and will need to sell some of their more valuable assets even though they do not want to. Jonathan David is valued by Lille at an unrealistic €60M. Napoli and Spurs no longer see him as a possible addition due to his price. Real Madrid have previously declared an interest but their focus has turned away as they wanted to include a player in any deal. He has been recommended to Chelsea by an ex player but the club have preferred targets - although his agent remains very keen on the move and remains in discussions with Chelsea. The Manchester United coach tried to take him to Ajax and could potentially look to taking him to Manchester United but I suspect that option will go if ten Hag departs. Aston Villa or Milan may offer a viable solution but the fee is a huge issue. A wildcard would be Brentford or Arsenal.
Ivan Toney (S) Brentford do not want to sell but are aware Toney may look to move up a step and will reluctantly look to perhaps £70M as a sale price in the summer - but will likely not get anything close to that. It would be driven by situation which could see him run down his contract next season and leave as a Free Agent - so Brentford will seek a new cantract. Newcastle no longer offer the chance of a return to the club who previously could find no use for him in the three years he was there. Arsenal, Leeds, Manchester United, Spurs, Chelsea and West Ham have all sent scouts on more than one occasion to watch him prior to his ban, but Chelsea and Spurs have preferred options meaning West Ham, Arsenal or Manchester United are likely best placed to complete a transfer, lthough Spurs are struggling to sign their two preferred choices and may turn to him. Was first choice for Arsenal but that has disappeared as the price does not drop to perhaps £40M. Aston Villa are losing Duran and could look to him.
Ollie Watkins (S) Agent is looking for options and has spoken with Arsenal.
Victor Osimhen (S) Napoli made it clear to Chelsea who enquired in 2021 that even €100M would not buy the player - but they do maintain an interest and he has been first choice and expect an offer to be made in the summer. Al Hilal may well have offered Napoli the €200M they were looking for, but that may not suit the player just yet. PSG and Real Madrid could look to him as an option but Madrid would want to offer players in exchange. He has signed a new contract and, at the behest of his agent, included a release clause. Arsenal have a preferred option and see the price as too high. There is a suggestion that Liverpool have negotiated directly with the player and his agent and not spoken to Napoli. Given Napoli registered a complaint against Liverpool over another player last year, it would seem unlikely, or particularly stupid. In the players hands next summer - may decide to stay but there will be a return from Michael Emanalo with a very good offer but I understand that Chelsea will inform Napoli that they will pay his €130M release clause in full in the summer.
Dusan Vlahovic (S) Only joined in January 2022 but financial issues that Juventus now have and goalscoring problems will determine that he is sold in the summer – but they will hold out for €70M. Regardless of his loss of form, there will be a lot of interest if he is and his agent has approached Manchester United, Chelsea and PSG. Real Madrid are also keen but, like Chelsea, have preferred targets. Chelsea were open to an exchange of players last summer but right now there is no push as his wage demands are seen as excessive and they will look to other targets first. PSG have him as a possible Mbappe replacement - but not first choice - but don't lose sight of them. As a wildcard, Arsenal may rekindle interest but would likely want to include players in any deal. Juventus have already drawn up a list of potential replacements and are working on those but a new contract on lower terms might suit them best.
Viktor Gyokeres (S) After only joining last summer Sporting have no interest in selling but fear a club could simply pay his €100M buy out clause in full and try to persuade him to move. Sporting fear Chelasea may do that and have avoided the subject during discussions over another player and a separate issue - and Chelsea has a preferred option. He has attracted scouts representing Manchester United, Spurs and Arsenal with Arsenal seeing him as an option to Toney. Spurs may offer a wildcard option but have a preferred option to effectively replace Kane which they failed to do last summer. Sporting are looking to a new contract and an increase in his buy-out clause. Injury will keep him out to probably mid to late July or so. Will likely stay.

Just had a look at the City page to see how the fans are reacting to the trial starting on Monday and was gobsmacked to see some of the changes go back to 2009 and right up to 2023.
I know Ed002 has said a lot of the charges are minor but I was still surprised they go back so far.
It's obviously not Arsrnal related but I reckon a lot of football fans will be interested.
1.) 12 Sep 2024 16:08:58
Aye Sallyjannine, a lot seem to be for failure to co-operate etc.
Couple of big ones in there, the manager remuneration one will be an interesting one - there was rumours years ago of Mancini being paid under the table from a second account lol that was never answered
Certainly a lot of fans interested, particularly to see, if the charges are proven of course, if harsh punishments will be handed out as has happened to other clubs.
2.) 12 Sep 2024 18:39:10
The money spent on lawyers defending against these charges, included in club spending.
3.) 12 Sep 2024 18:56:16
Hi Bill, the FA have to be consistent and treat City as he they did Everton and Forest, if they are proven to be guilty of being breaking the same rules personally I hope they haven't broken rule's worthy of a points deductions because I'd like us to out point City, Liverpool and everyone else come next May on a completely level playing field. Personally I'd hate us to win the league over City by 2 points if City had been deducted 3pts.
4.) 12 Sep 2024 21:47:58
Unlimited funds versus limited funds might prove difficult for the FA.
5.) 13 Sep 2024 09:38:58
Hi Sally, it seems that City are subject to the same version of justice as those accused of being witches during the dark ages. If they survive being dragged across the river they are obviously witches and should be burned at the stake and if they drowned in the river can they be deemed to be innocent.
Personally I think we'd be much better off concentrating on The Arsenal's brilliance than other people's potential downfall.
{Ed001's Note - most of those charges against City, the older ones, have already been proven in a court of law when UEFA charged them. The difference was, despite the outright lie City have said of being found innocent, they were time-barred from being punished for them. It is nothing like witches, they were given the chance to appeal repeatedly to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which allowed most of the charges to become time-barred. If anything, they have been given the justice reserved only for the rich - do what you like, and even when caught red-handed you can just buy your way out of it.}
6.) 13 Sep 2024 11:19:27
Fair enough Ed001, the FA will do or not do whatever they choose and I'm happy to accept whatever decision they come up with for City.
Personally I don't care about football politics in theslightest, there are far bigger and more important injustices in the world to worry about, football is supposed to be a game played on the field that keeps fan's entertained and i'm only interested in Arsenal's continued re-emergence as a footballing force apposed to hoping for anyone else's downfall. The ethics of those who own football clubs and the human rights abuses they commit are a far bigger issue for me than any footballing rules they and plenty of others have broken over the years. I very much doubt there are too many clubs without a few skeletons in their wardrobes.
{Ed001's Note - if you don't care about the subject, why even bother to comment to tell us all how little you care? Just scroll past. You could have started a separate thread about the human rights abuses etc, rather than hijacking a thread about something else mate. This is why it is so difficult to have decent discussions online - people will hijack any thread with something they think is more important. Then conversations end up confused.
To be clear, I do agree with you to a degree. Things like human rights abuses are clearly more important, but they are separate issues and should be treated as such. You have to remember that what we are discussing here is still, despite only being about sports, are ethical and moral issues. They are about people who think it is ok to just ignore laws and rules if it benefits them. You tend to find in life that people who think like that, think like that about all things, not just sports. So there is a bigger issue involved as well. If you can't hold them accountable in here, where it is minor, you then make it more difficult for them to be held accountable anywhere else as well.}
7.) 13 Sep 2024 11:56:43
Just a quick comment but in my opinion City and human rights are linked via their owners as they can use City as a device to mask the injustices they are committing in their country. So while they seem like separate issues they're never completely separate.
8.) 13 Sep 2024 12:29:16
There is overlaps with the human rights issues, because WHY are the UAE, Qatar and Saudi spending billions sports washing?
{Ed001's Note - I think it is only right to point out that the UK and USA have just as bad a record on human rights.}
9.) 13 Sep 2024 12:40:45
For me 62 love and appreciation of football in general (not just our beloved Arsenal) depends very much on the honesty and integrity of all aspects of the game, whether on or off the pitch. Without this what's the point of sport?
i know rumours should be ignored until proven but it seems (please correct me If I'm wrong eds) that only Italy have a good record on doping punishments.
10.) 13 Sep 2024 12:48:08
Fair comment again Ed001 mate, i should have just scrolled past the comment and not got involved in something that isn't really an issue for me. Lesson learned for me, hopefully ?,
{Ed001's Note - no it is fine mate. I was just saying, when you make comments like it doesn't interest you etc, it kind of takes away from any point you make.}
11.) 13 Sep 2024 13:00:46
The US has more prisoners per head of population than any other country in the world, man are in prison for minor driving offences like having a tail light out, victims are initially given a huge fine beyond their means to pay and given just 14 days to pay, then they are imprisoned for not paying the fine. Once in prison they are put to work for the state that imprisoned them for several years. If the US was anything other than a western country, this would quite rightly be called slavery.
30 Aug 2024 12:36:02
Lots of talk about Stirling. I'd be happy for him to come to Arsenal.
1.) 30 Aug 2024 15:37:17
I'd be deeply concerned if there is any truth to the noise.
25 Aug 2024 21:19:49
Looks like Eddie's deal with Forest is off.
I really hope he can settle somewhere soon so he can get regular game time. Same with Aaron and Reiss.
1.) 26 Aug 2024 09:26:39
Bit concerning we still haven't sold him. Only issue is for me if everyone goes who is linked away (kiwor, Nelson, Vieira, ramsdale and nketiah) it leaves us really light in a couple of positions.
2.) 27 Aug 2024 01:57:11
Deal with Palace appears close. Will be a great move for him.
22 Aug 2024 17:21:40
Looks like we've got Merino guys ?.
1.) 22 Aug 2024 17:51:20
I see that sally, I’m so happy with this signing
Great player.
2.) 22 Aug 2024 17:57:09
Hi sally hope all’s well. just seen on sky sports news that we have agreed deal in principle. let’s hope he is worth the wait. by all accounts we fist made contact with his reps in December 2023. ?⚪️❤️.
3.) 22 Aug 2024 17:58:51
Great Great quality signing.
4.) 22 Aug 2024 18:58:39
Evening all
We’re working from the back, I think the next players will be a winger and then a forward.
{Ed014's Note - we haven’t got the midfielder in just yet Mal.
I don’t think we’ll get anyone after he’s come in.
I’d love to be wrong though.
5.) 22 Aug 2024 20:06:57
Top top signing - need GK Striker and LW to win the league - hoping we haven’t waited too long as Villa did us proper last year.
6.) 22 Aug 2024 20:44:19
How’s it going 14, hope the family are well
Just have a feeling we will get that winger and striker.
7.) 22 Aug 2024 20:52:11
We need someone to give Saka a rest I reckon Sy.
8.) 22 Aug 2024 22:10:50
Hi all, hope all is well.
Gotta say Merino definitely had the attributes to be ideal for us next to Dekkers, our midfield is looking pretty tasty now. I feel a new addition for LW isn’t needed with Martinelli and Leo battling for that spot n i'd even say I’d be happy with G. Jesus covering for Saka on the RW so for me a new Striker/ CF to mix things up would be awesome but if not f*** it I’m quietly confident the players that didn’t hit the heights we’ve seen from them previously will come good n add goals we were missing last season.
If we were to add a new addition up top…who’s your realistic goal getter to get us that trophy?
❤️?.

He's just signed a new contract till 2027 Iceman. I suppose the reality is though that City don't just win the league but other trophies too, they will be very hard to topple. Although Liverpool came close a couple of years ago.

Spurs and City, could be tricky!

Thanks Cech, nice to have a neutral observer's view.
