Lovely to see Gykores get the Gerd Muller trophy. 54 goals in 52 games last year!
Once he gets the service he needs we will hopefully see some of that here in the PL 😀
My view is we have for so long tried to weave our way through on goal it is a big adjustment to target one striker.
Bring it on!

Does anyone on here worry about the number of chances we create considering the amount of possession we have because I think it is a real issue. We control games up to the final third but do not seem to be able to cut through organised defences these problems were evident again last night. Also is it just me but does Ethan N totally underwhelm when he gets a chance to play?
25 Sep 2025 10:02:03
Agree on both the points Oleary, in my post below, I expressed the same worry/ fear. There’s no confidence that we will score goals, too predictable and always ready to pass back to the CBs rather than the CF. Nwaneri does perform below expectations when he gets a chance and get a feeling that his attitude is ‘I have made it’ but he is still very young so hoping he will get better at everything.
25 Sep 2025 15:53:31
Hi oleary. Hope you're good 👍
Not sure I agree with Nwanieri comment, I think his performances have been OK. They were better last season when he had a run of games, in fact he was our best player for most of them. Maybe, because he performed so well, then didn't get many opportunities after that might of affected him, I don't know. But, for his age, he's certainly not disappointing me. Maybe because of his early showings we were expecting big things constantly, don't know. Probably same with MLS, not sure what's happening there.
Anyway, let's hope this future arsenal breed carry on the levels they've previously shown.
25 Sep 2025 17:05:36
Let's hope so ramsgate but our lack of a cutting edge is worrying it's not as if we are missing chances but we are not creating them!
25 Sep 2025 17:46:13
Can't argue with that. The amount of creative players we have, and the amounts all these players are creating, is a concern.
25 Sep 2025 20:38:29
Time to worry is when Arteta has coached the forward play out of Eze, Noni and Dowman. Looks like Dowman is playing it more sideways now. if Arteta somehow manages that - yes I will be afraid. He’s done it to plenty others.
Creativity is in the team - my only fear is Arteta’s fear of attacking and playing it forward plus if he doesn’t change that the club will still stick with him regardless as we’ve backed him so well.
25 Sep 2025 21:11:14
We are a fearful lot aren’t we COYG.

Through to the next round - Eze gets a goal which is great &? Trissard with a lovely finish. Shame Viktor didn't find the net.
Surprised Saka was risked but at least he survived and it's some game time as he looks very rusty.
Brighton at home - would be great to get to the final.
Job done.
24 Sep 2025 23:30:57
Hey SY mate, positive at last 🤔 hahah. All good fun dude.
Portvale playes with some gutts. Glad Eze off the mark too.
I wany Gyogeres giring in the league and champions league where it matters and i really hope he will get the service he needs.
If you watch him you closely you will see he does do some runs but unfortunately our players don't see that sometimes.
I really hope the team will be unsatisfied from the weekend and arteta plays it right this time.
25 Sep 2025 02:03:48
My feeling Moe is that Arteta is trying something new and increasing the directness. Not just from the players we've bought (Gyokeres, Madueke especially) but the style. Several goals already this season from longer passes over the top. I can imagine there are teething problems when playing differently and Gyokeres will probably start getting better service as time goes by.
24 Sep 2025 21:27:36
Not going to be popular with this statement but I have to get it out, ‘I fear for us this season! ’.
24 Sep 2025 21:55:33
What are you afraid of? Do you need G62 to hold your hand?
24 Sep 2025 22:43:05
Im not too sure about the hand holding SW, but i'm happpy to join Highbury and yourself in a group hug if you both need one.
By the way Highbury, yeah, what is it that's giving you the willes 🤔.
24 Sep 2025 23:04:20
Why you worried Highbury? I don’t believe we will finish outside of the top 3 despite our managers tactics. We should be able to put a decent run in Europe where it’s a bit slower and I’m hoping for a cup run too. I can understand being not as excited as you should be or nervous with team selection for big games but overall I am sure we will be decent in all areas but may be not win a cup unless Viktor gets going and Arteta gets us playing better. with better set up / tactics. Those two individuals are pretty key to it all.
25 Sep 2025 06:12:01
:) yes, a group hug for now, but someone definitely needs to hold Arteta’s hand and help release the “handbrake”
Our build up is slow and lacks energy, apart from the Leeds game, all the games I watched, never got a confidence that we will score goals until we somehow did. The only positive so far for me is we have conceded only two goals.
I try to tell myself that the team will click and we will get back to the exciting football we are craving but my fear is it may be too late this season.
25 Sep 2025 15:40:26
Fecking hell! Win Lose or Draw but never fear! COYG
As for too late are we mathematically out of the Championship race yet? Nope . Come on Highbury we’re still in everything until we aren’t which gives us a chance- some may say it’s the hope that kills you nope that's not breathing that does that! We have tons of great nights ahead of us if only we got out from behind the sofa or out of the group hug to see them COYG.
25 Sep 2025 18:53:07
Your very welcome to join us in the group hug anytime you wish to Essex mate 😘.
I agree absolunothing nothing is lost as things stand, not only is this seasons title mathematically still a possibility its still very much a realistic target for us to look forward to pursuing. If any Arsenal fans are considering throwing in the towel already I'd urge them hold their fire until at least the end of October by which time we will genuinely know an awful lot more than we might think we know right now.
If Arteta can find the courage to start trusting the excellent squad he's put together allowing them off his leash everything is still to play for 👍.
26 Sep 2025 10:26:30
Not throwing in the towel at all, it’s just that the number of chance we are creating or not creating is worrying, if we don’t score then the clean sheets will count for nothing. Mathematically still everything is to play for but then as they say, it’s not in our hands anymore, right? We have to rely on others now to help us. I am still positive about the season but only the league or champions league title will be progress for me, not even the FA cup or the league cup. Again, this is my personal feeling and it may be unrealistic.

I remember you could on live chat and have such a laugh
We had some great characters some had left some got banned but we had a giggle
Now it's the same old bollox posted over and over again
As Billy said us old timers had seen the good the bad and the ugly
I remember being on the north bank. In the early 80s and it was empty,
I think it was against Wednesday but we had some laugh
I get it people are disappointed I'm disappointed but I still enjoy the craic
When you take the fun out of something it ends up being boring
Bring Back the fun!
23 Sep 2025 22:08:50
Hi Mal - problem is when you are looking forward to the game all weekend and prime yourself to watch us. It’s super disappointing that we all believe we can win, have the squad yet the ball-less manager sets us up again to aim for a point at home. There was banter but you are right that it was a bit negative.
How about you write a letter to Arteta also as it’s on him too and let him know that the Arsenal Banter site could manage the team better.
Then I’m sure the fun will be back which will be awesome - do you think people want to moan? It’s part of life and part of being a fan. It’s just as boring reading the drivel about how well we are playing etc when we aren’t at all.
I take responsibility for my posts and think the boss isn’t good enough but will do my best to keep it light as I missed you and I get your point bud.
In return - stop posting repeat positive bollox unless we are actually playing decent football worthy of the cannon and the 1Bn spent on Arteta.
Stop being a rose tinted baby and I will personally try to be less repetitive and be shorter in posts but I won’t post “well done” when we ain’t playing well. I will post well done to players who in my opinion try to impact the attacking the team does.
Hope you are well and love to you 🤛.
24 Sep 2025 02:02:23
Noone will have fun until SY has fun! xD.
24 Sep 2025 12:18:21
I sit in your camp SY, I can't say it's good if it's not.
Because of the BIG money signings the club are under more scrutiny than before, 2 years ago we would have got away with a 1-1 against City but in 2025 we are stronger and they are weaker so it's going to create criticism .
I still believe we will win something. but what, that's the question.
24 Sep 2025 15:39:44
Hi Banbury I think the most people just want to see the genuine intention and commitment from the manager to go out and win big games.
No manager in history has been able to absolutely guarantee their side will win all games or even a trophy as football is far to unpredictable a sport for anyone to be able to genuinely offer such a guarantee. Again most people will accept infalibilty as long as they can see with their own eyes the intention and effort from the manger and their players on the field.
24 Sep 2025 19:00:30
Less of the old timers Mal as I was there in the 80s😂😂 Tried to explain to my son that when we scored you stood somewhere different than prior to scoring. He looked perplexed and I quote ‘Did you not just sit down’.
23 Sep 2025 11:25:06
It seems Noni was subbed because of injury 😔.
23 Sep 2025 12:44:36
Apparently he is out for 8 weeks.
That's not me being unsupportive supporter like its been suggested I am, just reporting the facts.
23 Sep 2025 14:02:25
Hi Bill mate, I genuinely don't believe SW was directing his comment at you personally mate 👍.
23 Sep 2025 21:57:25
Shame about his injury as the lad has started strong and is very direct in his play. Feels he’s part of the solution so disappointed for him and club plus our enjoyment that we won’t see him play. Boy has been great on that RW.
23 Sep 2025 23:01:10
Bo way SY saying some nice about someone. What is going on, are you high mate hahahah just kidding brother. I was one of questioning his signing and its proving me wrong. Love his direct play and how he burst forward instead those annoying back passes.
24 Sep 2025 12:32:27
Hi Malaga yeah those days were a laugh and it has got a tad to serious . Transfer windows especially were fun with supposed players flying in from all over the world. But we have to be a tad less serious and get a smile on our faces again.

Disappointing the way Arteta set up, Eze must be a bit puzzled, in saying that so must Trossard be LOL
On the City goal WTF was our defence doing, it was non existent and it made Haaland look like Usain Bolt, Gabriel looked as though his feet were tied together.
But we recovered well and grabbed a point at least.
23 Sep 2025 03:08:08
As irritated as the fans are for starting Merino over Eze or Nwaneri, I thought we looked incredibly good for the first 10 minutes before Haaland scored. I could see the plan - we just got done by a really dumb error. First time I've seen our defence get caught out like that in years. Once the halftime changes came on, we were dominant again, so this is probably a bit of a wake-up call to Arteta that a win and a loss is worth more than two draws - we probably should be gambling on the win a little more.
23 Sep 2025 12:57:17
Hi Wire mate, the manager put a huge question mark above his own head with his fearful team selection and game plan against Liverpool, unfortunately he reenforced that question mark over his mentality with his team selection against City.
If he'd come away with 6pts from those 2 games he'd have got away with his negative mentality but ultimately he only just managed to scape a 1pt from the 6pts on offer in added time against a very beatable Man City. Mikel himself has sadly given people a very big stick to beat him with and it's no surprise that people more and more people are now using that stick against him.
It will take him a long time to shake off the reputation he's truly earned for himself over the last fortnight mate.
23 Sep 2025 15:08:19
Sure G62, I guess my post wasn't very clear, but I meant that when we concede first, we tend to look overly cautious when we can afford to free up the attacking players a bit.
To be fair to Arteta, I think he's adapted a lot over his tenure, so I think he's going to figure it out.
23 Sep 2025 16:48:09
Hi Wire mate, in the 3 seasons before Arteta came along we had finished 6th 5th and 5th again if memory serves me right, initially he took us to 8th and 8th again which was awful, then he took us back to where he found us in 5th place.
During the last 3 seasons he's put us right back among the big boys and things have been the best they have been at the club for a very long time in my opinion he's done a fantastic job of putting Arsenal football Club back on the map of elite clubs, so no matter what happens in the month's ahead we have an awful lot to thank him for but he's in real danger of losing the crowd, not because of results but because of his fearful mentality.
I for one would have accepted a 1 0 defeat at Anfield as a 50/ 50 game that simply didn't go our way on the day had we stood up tall and went for all 3pts from start to finish simply because I genuinely believe we are every bit Liverpools equals, again against City i would have accepted a 1 1 draw as a disappointing result but simply one of those things if we'd taken to the field looking to show how far we've come and that our approach to the Liverpool game was a one off mistake, but unfortunately it Arteta showed he had no regrets about his approach at Liverpool.
I personally think we are far better than Arteta allows us to show ourselves to be and for me that's far more disappointing than results not always going as I'd like them to go.
{Ed025's Note - im with you G62..
23 Sep 2025 18:58:41
Hi Ed025 mate, it would be such a shame if Arteta allows his inferiority complex to deny him the honour of seeing the brilliant job he's done to its ultimate conclusion.
Last season with a heavily depleted squad he and his players went for it 100% and totally stunned the footballing world by playing Real Madrid off the park home and away, yet now armed with the best Arsenal squad in two decades he decides to try and play it safe, that makes no sense to me at all mate.
{Ed025's Note - nor me G62, which tells me that he is a very good No2 but maybe not a great No1 mate..
23 Sep 2025 22:14:33
Welcome back 62 - refreshing post from you and I 100%agree with you.
For me 6 points were on the table but the boss set us up thinking there were 2 points. He needs to figure out he’s brought us back to where we should be and now we play like the big boys. 1 win is better than two draws. Back when it was 2 pts for a win may be that was ok. Not now.
We do have a lot to thank him for but he’s had a huge wage bill and 1Bn pounds - plus >10m wage.
