This is pathetic to watch! Staring Merino over Eze. Saka if fit for bench can surely start! We need both of them at the START of the second half and not the customary 70 mins mark!

Exactly the line up I didn't want to see. Happy to be proved wrong, but it almost seems like hubris on Artetas part.
21 Sep 2025 16:08:39
Arsenal: Raya, Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori, Zubimendi, Rice, Merino, Madueke, Trossard, Gyokeres.
Substitutes: Arrizabalaga, Mosquera, White, Saka, Eze, Martinelli, Norgaard, Nwaneri, Lewis-Skelly.
Eze on bench and Merino starts….
We are at home - right.
21 Sep 2025 16:09:53
Not certain if it's hubris or Arteta simply lacking a pair. Regardless of today's ultimate outcome, it demonstrates Arteta's frustrating risk-aversion tactics against bigger sides. which may in the end make it exceedingly difficult to overtake Liverpool.
21 Sep 2025 16:38:29
Someone needs to give him a shake and see - Trossard and Merino shows limited intent.
21 Sep 2025 11:44:38
Here we go - love these days.
Let's get after them and show them how great we can be from both an attacking and defending force!
Let's get after them and see it click - looking forward to that
COYG - let's GO!

SY4 has written an article entitled, Is Mikel Arteta A Bottler As Arsenal Manager?
21 Sep 2025 11:38:00
Boring tripe as usual.
21 Sep 2025 13:18:47
It was a reply to Gabi not an article or whatever.
21 Sep 2025 11:41:32
When did I write that?
{Ed033's Note - Your reply was very long, so i took most of your reply text and put it as an article.
21 Sep 2025 16:02:57
Fair enough Ed, guilty as charged on a long reply but certainly not an article on Arteta or it would have been quite different…. 😂
Enjoy your Sunday and thanks.
21 Sep 2025 18:43:31
Yes he is a bottler - I agree 😂
He bottled it years ago and has every season since.
21 Sep 2025 10:00:15
I would like to see some ambition today against an eminently beatable city side. Assuming Odegaard is out, the time has come to put some faith in Nwaneri or Eze to start in their best position. My heart is likely to sink if we play with Rice hamstrung in the middle between Zubi and Merino.
Just to say, a trapped nerve in my neck is causing the negative sentiment. 🤣.
21 Sep 2025 10:48:04
I think another thumping win by us today Hoxton will go some way to relieving your neck pain mate.
21 Sep 2025 11:18:11
Indeed it will. 👍.
21 Sep 2025 13:20:58
Yep - Exe in for Ode and Martinelli on LW as no other option. Nice to see Eze controlling the pace of the game in the middle and getting us moving forward quicker down both wings. Please don’t put Noni on Left and Ethan on RW.
Let’s tear them apart.

20 Sep 2025 15:42:45
Good afternoon all Ed's and fellow gunners, hope alls well, just wanted to say I have just watched an excellent interview ally macoist meeting Mikel Arteta at our training ground. absolutely fascinating. if you take a step back and remember where we were when Mikel took on his very first managerial job. the mighty Arsenal. (they don't come much bigger) .
we were in a proper mess people used to take the p'$$ out of us Arsenal banter f.c. he came in to help sort out the club he loves the most. he asked us to trust the process which we have. he got rid of all the dead wood and blood sucking leeches that were draining the life out of our great club . he re instilled discipline and self belief through out and has put his heart and soul into rebuilding us back up. to bring back the glory days.
We have a great young squad now full of depth and quality which has just as good a chance of silverware as any of the others. we are very very close to possibly becoming the dominant force in English football and a team the rest of Europe will be sitting up and taking massive notice of. we also have to acknowledge that other teams in and around us and few lower down the league have also invested well in what is the toughest league in world football so nothing is a given.
yes my friends it is time Arsenal won some trophies. but if it doesn't happen this season I personally still think Arteta has enough credit to carry on. based on where he has taken us from and to where he has taken us to. and trust me when I say, when Mikel and this squad he's assembled gets the first one over the line. they will believe that together they can achieve anything and the dominance will commence. and all of us Arsenal fans will rejoice a new era. win, lose or draw, as long as we all stick together and back our club 100% we will all be playing our part in the process. and helping breed the success. COYG/ VTH 🔴⚪️❤️.
20 Sep 2025 18:30:28
He’s done a great job but with 900m spent and ignoring blatant holes - pressure should be on. I expect a trophy with that amount spent and th3 league has been there to be lost and he did. He needs to get a striker and start attacking more like a big club. Acknowledge he’s worked wonders but he did clear out a lot of goal scorers and creative players to leave us blunt up front. He also manages as if we are a 2nd rate team happy to waste time and pass backwards against big teams or if we go one up. Also made some terrible / very average signings. Wenger had a load less money and still delivered silver in his last 5 years. Arteta must deliver and start getting us playing like he believes we are a big team. It’s silver ( I don’t mean second again ) or bust.
20 Sep 2025 21:23:01
Hi sy hope alls well buddy. you make some very valid points… just a question for you if arteta and the arsenal do not deliver any trophies this year do you think he will be gone. if answer is yes…who would you think we would go for as his replacement.? . as if he was to leave or be sacked come what may. there would be an absolutely massive decision to make. and it would need to be the correct one 100% to make sure of progression and not regression.
p. s just wanted to say if we play handbrake off football we have every chance of winning something. it’s just wether or not Mikel is willing to go for it. COYG/ VTH.
21 Sep 2025 09:14:35
Hi Gabi. Liverpool fan in peace here. I do share the same sentiments as SY. I think Arteta has spent an absolute fortune to get the players and to mould the team to play the way he wants. So he has to start delivering silverware. While it's true that Arsenal is in a better place now than when he took over, he should be achieving way more than just second place in the league. This season, he should at least be winning some silverware and if he doesn't, then it is time to look elsewhere if you want to progress. Iraola is a good option if you ask me since he constantly has Bournemouth punching above their weight and is doing relatively well this season after losing their first choice keeper and 3 out of four of their first choice defenders.
21 Sep 2025 10:18:45
Morning dracred hope alls good. fair point. I personally feel if we can stay relatively clear of injuries this season then the title is between Liverpool and the arsenal. regarding silverware from an Arsenal point of view…we just need that first one as a squad to install the real we can do it winners mentality. just like Liverpool had to with klopp in recent history. in the last 3 years of finishing 2nd we let two title chances slip through our fingers, last season there was other elements firstly we had probably our worst season injury wise and not the squad depth. the squad depth has in my eyes finally been sorted out. so fingers crossed we shouldn’t be risking so much over use of certain individuals hence lessoning such risks. so yes I totally agree with both you and sy that we should be winning silverware now. (I did put in my original post that it’s time we was doing so) . and I think we are now more capable it’s up to Arteta to let the handbrake off and get us to go out do our stuff. then only time will tell. regarding an arteta replacement which is something I have not given much thought as I have been a trust the process kinda guy. (would love to win something with Arteta because of all his hard graft and what the arsenal means to him) . But if he’s gone at the end of the season, the guy from Bournemouth who you mentioned is a decent shout. good speaking to you dacred and of course sy. take care guys enjoy the rest of your weekend.
21 Sep 2025 10:31:18
We have a manager.
21 Sep 2025 10:39:58
Hi - crazy week and not been on here not for any other reason than being busy. I am very good Gabi - been away and enjoying the weekend. Hope you are well.
21 Sep 2025 11:50:23
Hi Gabi - I did reply to you. Hope you are well. You good?
I hope he gets there and if he changes and starts making change in style and tactics. Gets a bit aggressive about winning then I’d give him amother year even if 2nd as long as I see the intent. I really like the guy and appreciate what he’s done. But why do all that, walk up the path but too timid to knock in the door.
If we are still playing as we are and set up as we are. If we come 2nd. We change
I have zero fear of change as we are a great club. Why fear change if I don’t see the skills to win.
Liverpool kicked on fine so will we.
Who do you think?
I saw you want silverware 👍🙌.
21 Sep 2025 14:43:42
Hi sy. alls good. I really want arteta and the lads to get the first one over the line and move on to bigger and better things together with us lot the fan base backing them all the way. and I would definitely give Arteta another season or two even if we fall short again. I genuinely think we are that close. but if he did go (I hope not) . I really don’t know who we would go for. it really is something we would have to get right. we have Mikel and I back him and the boys 100% good times are going to come. COYG/ VTH🔴⚪️❤️.
21 Sep 2025 15:19:02
Glad all good and hear you about Arteta.
Hope he gets us there but if he doesn’t start trying to win then he will never win the league so the risk of change is small. The opportunity list is great. Who cares if we change and come third - better to try to win than play safe and only ever come second.
20 Sep 2025 13:35:38
Very early in the season and loads of games to go until May, however, should we fear that Liverpool may run away with it this year? We have had excellent transfer window and performing very well but it isn’t anything to do with us, only the way Liverpool are playing and the team they have is making me think!
20 Sep 2025 15:22:10
In the 1985/ 86 season Man United won all 10 of their opening 10 games, they finished that season 4th place in the league.
It is indeed very early days and an awful lot can and will happen over the next 33/ 34 games.
20 Sep 2025 15:44:18
Hello Highbury and John, hope you are both good.
Like you have said John its early doors and neither us or Liverpool have looked that great imo. We missed a golden opportunity to beat them a few weeks back and only time will tell if the tactics that day will come back and haunt us. Apart from us and Liverpool there's a few other sides that will be in the running also for the prem title. Just like to add massive amounts of money were spent in the summer by a few prem clubs so there will be a lot teams chopping and changing trying to find the best eleven and rhythm us included in that.
Take care both.
20 Sep 2025 18:35:57
Liverpool went big in the window like Champs and get results plus play to win like Champs.
We need a change in mindset if we are to challenge.
We can’t be City’s biggest challenger then they drop off, we become Liverpools biggest challenger then City’s again .
Boss needs step up and get us performing.
Henry needs to show Viktor how to get better and someone needs to show the boss how we can attack and take the handbrake off. The person the midfield pass to the most can’t be defence / keeper - need to play it forward faster.
Tired of being the best man - let’s be the groom for the love of god Arteta. Show some intent please. Not seen that for a longtime.
20 Sep 2025 19:31:12
Hi Bill mate, I think we will all have lot better idea about who's going to be leading the way and who's going to be among the chasing pack come December mate.
Let's see what tomorrow's game brings, i don't think we should be expecting a repeat of last seasons 5 1 win, 4 0 would do nicely 😊😊😊.

Hi fellow gooners. Bit random, but, looking at how Mosquera has performed, think saliba has genuine competition. Over the last couple of seasons when (apparently) Madrid were looking at Saliba, We probably all feared the worst. Now, with Mosquera, that doesn't seem as frightening. 100% we'd all love to keep Saliba, he's absolutely quality. I think my point is, Mosquera is looking very very good. To go on at anfield early in the game, then forest and bilbao away, and perform like he has is incredible. I know there is tougher games to overcome, but to play that many games for valencia before turning 20, coming into a new league and preforming like he has, all for £13million. love this guy already.
On to Sunday COYG.
18 Sep 2025 17:22:40
Yeah absolutely Ramsgate mate, beast of a player so is Timber as well.
Cant wait for Sunday when we can prove that last seasons result wasn't a one offCOYG.
18 Sep 2025 17:36:00
Hi Ramsgate, in previous seasons losing one of Saka or Saliba spelled big trouble for us and losing both at the same time would have been virtually impossible for us to cope with, but so far this season their absence hasn't been anything like the devastating blow it would have been prior to this season.
Still the sooner they are both back 100% fit the better 👍.
18 Sep 2025 18:17:07
Let`s not forget Hincapie too. Looking forward to his full debut COYG.
19 Sep 2025 05:30:15
Not saying we should sell Saliba, but the successful model for turning the club into long-term competitors has to include selling high as soon as players begin to come down from their peak. Saliba will leave Arsenal one day. Maybe not such a scary thought now?
19 Sep 2025 15:00:14
Hi Wire (not meaning trapezist)
Agree, if we were offered ridiculous money for saliba, and mosquera continues to perform like he has, there's a substantial profit 2b made and replaced with what looks like a very fine alternative.
