Having signed Tzolis, Meslier and Hincapie, adding Rashford, Barcola/Kroupi, Bruno and a defensive cover will be good business for us.
Rogers would have been good but definitely not worth 117 million, and he thinks he has joined the biggest club in London, so good luck to him. π
22 Jul 2026 12:20:50
Who do you see leaving us? We know Jesus will go, and Trossard has gone, but who else do you see going?
22 Jul 2026 12:54:45
Kepa, Nelson, Vieira, Norgaard, Jesus, I really like the look of Tzolis.
22 Jul 2026 12:58:01
Is Tzolis any good then? Henry rates him, so ......
22 Jul 2026 20:57:58
Wasn't great at Norwich, but then again Olise wasn't great at Palace, mate.
22 Jul 2026 22:40:24
Henry was an absolutely wonderful player, but not so wonderful as a manager. How much is his opinion really worth over anyone else's?
23 Jul 2026 06:54:38
Probably worth a bit more than our opinion, 62, lol.
23 Jul 2026 12:45:29
Most likely, mate. π But probably not as much as a top scout, coach or managers' opinions when it comes to spotting talent.
Henry is unquestionably an absolute Arsenal legend on the pitch, much as Rooney and Neville are Man United legends, but all 3 are pundits because they failed in their attempts at football management, while Wenger and Mourinho were below average players but, in their day, incredible managers with a real eye for a player.
Pundits do what they get paid to do, which, of course, is give opinions, but those opinions have a very dubious reliability rate. π
23 Jul 2026 19:07:42
Tzolis is gooner. ππππ
Let's hope he turns Henry's opinion into wonderful judgement and Arsenal into Premier League and Champions League champions. π€π€π€π€

Why does it seem every club is beating us to the targets we won't, or are they not the real targets?
22 Jul 2026 09:23:44
I think we are all agreed it's an inflated market, SB. I think we also all agree that we require a pure left winger, which Rogers was not.
Villa stuck to their valuation and got Chelsea to pay almost the asking price, so fair play to them. The difference nowadays with us is that we won't be had over on transfer fees.
We are being run by people who know the value.
imo I would pay the asking price for Bruno, Kroupi, Alvarez, Scott because they would bring exactly what we require.
I trust Mikel and Berti.

I'd like us to get Scott.

The Leipzig winger Diomande didn't really impressed me at the World Cup. So I hope we give him a wide berth. Rashford, as I have already said, I would not have a problem with.
Alvarez, I just cannot see this happening tbh.
Bruno, I would absolutely love but I have a feeling we are going to get trumped on that deal. Rogers was a lot of money for a player who wasn't a pure left winger.
Barcola, is another I just cannot see happening.
I think we are going to have think about what we pay for players, I was reading this morning that Spurs paid Brighton 52 million for Van Hecke and he had only 1yr left on his contract.
Tzolis is good business and Stones on a free would be also.
Whatever happens, I trust the process with Mikel and Berti.
Cannot wait for the season to start.
Take care everyone.

I agree, mate. Keep in mind, we just won the league -- yes, we should upgrade, but it is by no means panic stations. imo our only signings should be ones who raise the level of the team, so obviously that they are a no-brainer - to me, these are Bruno (big upgrade on Norgaard and gives Rice/Zubi a rest) and Kroupi (to replace Jesus) .
No point shuffling the deck and risking squad harmony for no good reason.
22 Jul 2026 09:13:51
Absolutely, Wire, mate.
I would be well made up with Bruno and Kroupi.
Take care, Wire, mate.
22 Jul 2026 15:51:58
You too, Bill. Enjoy your summer.
20 Jul 2026 20:27:38
Would Rashford be a good value quality LW with a goal threat and EPL experience. Not my first choice but could help our money go further elsewhere.
20 Jul 2026 21:02:31
Money's not an issue, mate.
We just want value for money, and I agree with this strategy.
20 Jul 2026 21:46:34
I personally wouldn't have a problem with Rashford.
20 Jul 2026 21:47:12
Rashford wouldn't be a bad addition on a season's loan, with the option to buy, in my opinion. He would offer options on the left wing and down the middle, which are needed. I don't know the stats, but I'm guessing his goals-per-game record would be better than Jesus's, and while Jesus had consistently good service with top-of-the-table sides, City and Arsenal, Rashford had to make do with whatever he could get at United during their wilderness years.
21 Jul 2026 12:01:32
I'd be ok with Rashford too. π
20 Jul 2026 16:13:32
Rip Kevin Keegan.
20 Jul 2026 17:27:19
Very sad, mate.
The word legend is extremely overused in football, but Kevin Keegan is unquestionably worthy of that title.
20 Jul 2026 20:23:42
RIP Legend.

Just wondering if any of the Eds can throw any light on how Chelsea are able to spend money like they have while under UEFA financial restrictions (i believe that is correct) apologies if I am wrong
Many thanks in advance to the Eds
Take care everyone.
{Ed001's Note - the SCR means they can spend a percentage of all their income on transfers, salaries and agent fees. They will increase the amount via sales of fringe players. They have a huge amount of players to offload.}
20 Jul 2026 10:45:08
Thanks Ed much appreciated
{Ed001's Note - it no longer takes into account the last 3 years, just the current one, so that frees them up a lot as their previous losses are irrelevant now.}
20 Jul 2026 11:22:50
Cheers Edππ
{Ed001's Note - you are very welcome mate. Sorry I just thought about that last bit I should have added in the initial reply.}

Well done Spain, and our 3 amigos Raya, Zubi and Merino. World champions and well deserved. The best team wonβ¦ Argentina dignified in defeat. (NOT) . Bunch of dirty little so and soβsβ¦ World Cup done and dustedβ¦ Bring on the Premiershipβ¦ and Come on you Gunners π΄βͺοΈβ€οΈ.

That halftime show was god awful - miming and no energy.
So commercial breaks, delayed kick off and an awful long boring halftime show.
Bring back the Highbury brass marching band from the 70s.
19 Jul 2026 23:13:06
Only thing worse was Messi trying to get a player sent off for talking behind his hand in the break, and a classless player taking a swing at a player after the final whistle. No golden boot or medal for Messi - good.
Well done Merino & Zubi. What a year!!
20 Jul 2026 09:02:02
Some of the great champions of sport were celebrated not only for their sporting skill, but their dignity and humility in defeat.
Something that Messi, Paredes, Enzo, etc etc were clearly lacking.
19 Jul 2026 14:04:22
I don't think we was ever in for Rodgers.
19 Jul 2026 17:16:40
What makes you say that, Mal, except for your live of the club. It reads like Chelsea just moved with more intent & decisiveness, which is fine.
19 Jul 2026 18:12:45
Hello mate, I just think we are a different animal in the transfer market now.
I have a feeling we are going for Vinny.
And there is no way Josh is going to let the toot out spend us.
Hope you and the family are OK.
19 Jul 2026 18:22:01
Ornstein said we never made a bid for Rogers.
And, if we did, we were only going to go to 90 mill max. Β£117 mill is so overpriced for Rogers.
Despite what Villa fans say.
Tzolis is good, solid business. We need to trust Arteta and Berti.
19 Jul 2026 19:07:02
Hi Mark, we seldom end up signing the players we are linked to by the media for a prolonged period of time. More often than not, we know little about our new signings until just before they actually happen.
Maybe we were interested, maybe we weren't, but it's not happening either way. π
19 Jul 2026 23:15:33
All good, Mal. You?
Sounds like we only wanted to pay & negotiate down to 90m. Chelsea pulled 119m out of their pocket & got it done.
19 Jul 2026 13:05:28
Well played Captain Rice and Saka, in the history books with a World Cup hat trick! Get some rest gents and let's see you shine for the mighty Gooners!
{Ed014's Note - Iβve been having a laugh reading the Liverpool page over the last few months.
One halfwit said the other day that Rice was over rated and over priced!π
We live rent free in their heads! π€ͺπ
19 Jul 2026 17:11:15
Bargain at 150m, I'd say. Such a great attitude and hard worker with an end product. He's one player we have who could walk into any EPL side.
