8m Euro for Bitello from Gremio is being reported. Apparently will be wrapped up this week. Never heard of him but I imagine Edu has talent scouts all over Brazillian football.

1.) 26 Jul 2023 13:03:33
I think ed002 said he wouldn't be eligible for a work permit. Has that changed, or will he be loaned out?

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal would either need to pay way over the odds, loan him out or apply for an exception to the Work Permit.}

2.) 26 Jul 2023 13:11:18
Thanks ed, so does transfer price have a bearing on obtaining a permit?

{Ed002's Note - And wages, both as a percentile.}

3.) 26 Jul 2023 13:20:38
Thanks.

4.) 26 Jul 2023 14:32:03
Didnt we do something similar with Martinelli [ not vodka ].

5.) 27 Jul 2023 00:29:09
Sparky I believe Gabi has an Italian passport and as such was exempt from the requirements.

15 Jul 2023 20:33:57
Apparently Edu isn't finished. Looking at Moussa Diaby!

sparky68

1.) 15 Jul 2023 21:17:44
Is he any good sparky?

2.) 15 Jul 2023 21:52:51
Mal he’s small but like lightening, will be a good addition.

3.) 15 Jul 2023 22:22:56
as vodka said mate, rapid and very good.

4.) 15 Jul 2023 22:58:56
Thanks lads.

5.) 15 Jul 2023 23:44:14
Edoo2 do we have any interest in moussa Diaby?

{Ed002's Note - Moussa Diaby (LW/RW) Bayer Leverkusen were approached about the player by Borussia Dortmund last season but no more than that. They have no interest in selling unless a very significant offer of something like €70M were made and have rejected a significant offer from Aston Villa, who may return with another. Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Real Madrid have sent scouts but each think the asking price too high. Was due to be replaced by Mykhaylo Mudryk last summer, but that never happened. Arsenal remain keen. A wildcard option may be a return to PSG. Newcastle are very interested but a move there would be a regression and I am sure being in the Champions League would be a consideration. Manchester United offer another wildcard solution. ASton Villa face an uphill battle to convince the player, but will keen trying.}

6.) 16 Jul 2023 02:58:02
Any legs to this rumour (Moussa Diaby) , Ed002?

I checked and you mentioned interest in January, and the possibility of his summer availability.

7.) 16 Jul 2023 21:11:10
I think Michael Olise from Palace wouldn’t be a bad call as a Saka cover tbh.

8.) 18 Jul 2023 16:43:27
Or the kid from Brighton thinks he’s Japanese, I think he would have been a better option than trossard, I’m not see all the fuss with trossard especially people saying he should start over gabs wasn’t he our top goal scorer?

{Ed077's Note - not only does Mitoma think he is Japanese but he's also actually Japanese ;-P}

9.) 18 Jul 2023 21:42:40
Ed 77 have you ever thought of being a comedian lol my bad spell check or the 11 pints in Cyprus to blame.

{Ed077's Note - here come the excuses?...}

15 Jul 2023 13:13:27
Declan Rice at Arsenal finalising the transfer, welcome to the mighty Arsenal Declan Rice.

COYG.

28 Jun 2023 16:48:05
Fabrizio Romano saying Rice deal is done, just finalising last details.

sparky68

1.) 28 Jun 2023 19:40:47
Huge signing!

{Ed014's Note - have we signed Tielemens?

2.) 28 Jun 2023 19:58:08
Haha Ed! Thankfully we moved on to better things than that fat lad.
Where do you rank the Rice signing in the biggest signings in the clubs recent history? Must be up there with Campbell, Bergkamp, Ozil and Sanchez.

{Ed014's Note - thank god ?

If it really does happen then of course it will be huge mate and with the bulk of the team being the right age it could be the biggest in terms of what they could go on to achieve.

Want to see him in the shirt first though.

3.) 28 Jun 2023 20:27:39
Massive signing when it happens! Still fat shaming Ed but Maddison to Spuds a win win eh? COYG Havertz Rice Tiiiimberrrrrr and Lavia - we couldn`t could we?

{Ed014's Note - ?? it was a double whammy for me today with him and Maddison moving elsewhere.

It would be a pretty impressive window that’s for sure mate.

4.) 28 Jun 2023 20:33:14
WHU want 100,000,000 over 18 months plus 5m add ons.

{Ed014's Note - not sure about the 5 mil add on’s sparky, what for? ?

5.) 28 Jun 2023 20:54:29
Come on 14, didn't you hear "Man City don't want to be in a bidding war with Arsenal" ?

Think we'll have a massive influence.

Arteta Build Back Arsenal!

{Ed014's Note - who said that, I don’t believe a word of it! ?

21 Jun 2023 16:14:51
Reports saying Havertz deal is done, medical booked.

sparky68

1.) 21 Jun 2023 17:14:58
yep looks like on thet BBC news reel looks a done deal 65mill plus add ons. No too convinced myself with Havertz tbh but he can play a number of forward positions so can see the appeal there, let's hope he turns out a good buy.

We embarrassed ourselves against a very poor Fulham side. Something needs to change.

sparky68

1.) 31 Dec 2023 16:09:19
Seem to have gone back years in last two games, all the good will and acceptance of this Arsenal being a different Arsenal built up over the last 18 months is suddenly in question, its not the losing its the attitude, performances and basic lack of passion creeping back in that is so scary in my opinion.

The players and manager need to very quickly prove this is a very poor blip and not a return to normal from The Arsenal.

2.) 31 Dec 2023 16:15:51
Do you think Sparky mate, that the way Arteta sets the team up and the way we play is more suited to the Champions League than the 100mph prem. Their is no intensity about our build up.

3.) 31 Dec 2023 16:26:28
I think you hit the nail there G62 too many players to comfortable.

4.) 31 Dec 2023 16:48:52
Dont know bill, just seem to lack any ideas in general.

5.) 31 Dec 2023 17:32:52
It needs to be owned up to and addressed immediately and then moved on from moving forward in my opinion Sparky mate.

None of us want to go back to where we were prior to last season.

28 Dec 2023 22:11:23
One word Clueless.

sparky68

1.) 28 Dec 2023 22:26:59
bad night for sure just seemed to fall into their traps and got crowded out being too intricate everytime credit to West Ham. Jesus two real good chances too that should have been taken too much of a unreliable main finisher for me to be leading our line.

{Ed025's Note - all a bit too tippy tappy for me Ryan, Arteta trying to play like Pep but without the clinical final ball or finish, major setback that tonight mate and its a loss of momentum, you need to sack this trying to walk the ball in for me and get a striker in who can finish..

24 Dec 2023 18:28:01
Happy Christmas to all you nutters on here who are fellow followers of the mighty Arsenal, we may not win all the time but you are our Arsenal. Hope Santa is good to you and you have a safe and prosperous New Year

Mark.

Merry Christmas me old muckers.

4.) 24 Dec 2023 21:01:49
Merry Christmas pal, have a good one.

{Ed014's Note - merry Christmas Sparky!

5.) 24 Dec 2023 21:14:49
and to you mate, hope its a great one for you and Mrs 14.

{Ed014's Note - thanks mate, likewise for you and yours too!

15 Dec 2023 07:53:44
So the FA quietly drop the Arteta charges for bringing the game into disrepute . Shame they don't go about looking at themselves and VAR in quite the same way, think we all know the reason why!

#clownshow #notfitforpurpose.

sparky68

1.) 15 Dec 2023 10:47:30
What I cannot understand is how they didn't think it was a foul on Gabriel, that rankles with me more than the other issue.

2.) 15 Dec 2023 11:18:11
Yeh Bill shocking, that and Willock telling our players during the game that the ball was out.

3.) 15 Dec 2023 12:39:10
I don't like that managers can't even respectfully question decisions in their interviews.

Fair enough don't be abusive or insinuate foul play without evidence.

But when the reporter asks them about a controversial decision they just have to give a knowing look and say I can't comment.

They're required to do interviews, but what's the point, if they have to be guarded and can't just give their honest opinion?

09 Dec 2023 19:41:51
Got what we deserved from that game I'm afraid. Villa are a great side but we offered no alternative out ball all game so were predictable, onto the next one

COYG.

sparky68

1.) 09 Dec 2023 20:14:30
We did create good enough chances to draw or even win the game, but Odegaard's finishing and Martinez's saves were our undoing. I bet Rice will be disappointed with his defending for the goal as well. He knew McGinn was there.

{Ed014's Note - Martinez was fortunate to get away with a few howlers too.

2.) 09 Dec 2023 20:37:46
I thought we did enough to get a draw - we can get back to winning ways quickly after that.

3.) 09 Dec 2023 20:30:26
Martinez was solid some right howlers too but we were not quick enough to take advantage. Players looked tired and lost for ideas. Missed arteta dishing it out today. Bad day at the office wipe it out move on. Rest all players need a strong finish against Brighton and then away to Liverpool the big one win that and we are almost there.

4.) 09 Dec 2023 20:59:18
Dont get me wrong, we had plenty of the ball but not enough chances created from the ball we had.

{Ed025's Note - your spot on sparky, as much as Jesus and Kai try they are just not prolific enough mate..

5.) 09 Dec 2023 21:23:45
It was a top of the table clash between two in form teams and the home team edged the result, just as they did at home to City in midweek.

For me personally it's as simple as that, without meaning to have a go at Arteta in any way shape or form, what a job Emery has done at Villa, obviously not today but I general

I'm really pleased for him, despite the fact I desperately wanted him gone when he was our manager.

6.) 09 Dec 2023 22:28:17
Gutted about the result but like some have said Emery has made Villa a well oiled machine, they know there roles and they do it very well (especially at home, amazing record that) beating us and city in back to back games. so firstly fair play to them.

We bossed the ball and we had chances but for me we need to be quicker in creating chances rather than dilly dallying about waiting for the perfect pass. Why do we never take a shot from outside the box? . why not take the chance when there’s an opening. try your luck. how many goals do you see from other clubs that score through deflections or whatever…you never know unless you try.

Disappointing but we’re still in the fight so onto the next one. ❤️?.

7.) 09 Dec 2023 23:07:50
It's natural after a defeat analyse and debate the performance of both the team and individuals, and of course the referee and var, but when fine margins rather than gaping gaps separate the two teams you've got to sometimes take defeat on the chin.

8.) 10 Dec 2023 07:54:52
Villa defended well and Unai has done a outstanding job, but we had enough chances to win the game. As John said take it on the chin and move on. Have not to break sweat on Tuesday as job is done., then on to Brighton who have proved to be a bit of a bogey side at the Emirates of late.

9.) 10 Dec 2023 10:05:44
I think we need a left back who can defend another midfielder and a top class striker and we are good to go.

10.) 10 Dec 2023 11:02:40
We're just 3 players away Wilfred ????.

11.) 10 Dec 2023 12:48:46
A goalkeeper like martinez both ramsdale and raya not good enough ramsdale to be No2 and raya to be No3 we are looking for our No1. All out striker although when you have an all out striker the team become reliant on him overall performance goes down on team.
