Lots of chatter about us going back for Mudryk, even the Athletic hypothesising about it.

I reckon it might work what do you all think?

Sallyjannine

{Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath - or do you expect Gabriel Martinelli to depart?}

1.) 29 Feb 2024 13:04:52
Absolutely not Ed .

2.) 01 Mar 2024 01:38:16
James McNicholas says all indications point to the ship having sailed from Arsenal's POV. Given the scale of the contract he's on, I doubt Chelsea would want anything less than what they paid for him.

It is also worth considering how utterly inept he has looked from a tactical perspective. I doubt Arteta believes that it's all coaching, there may be a lack of ability to follow instructions.

What do you think about Mudryk given the year he's had Ed002?

{Ed002's Note - Mykhaylo Mudryk (LW) Chelsea rejected an offer of him going on loan to Bayern Munich in January and Napoli asked about him being part of an exchange for a player. Chelsea will talk to the player, whose family is now in England, before the summer. He was unsettled whilst his family was still in Ukraine but that has now been resolved.}

3.) 01 Mar 2024 15:36:08
I think he has great potential but he needs lots of coaching to maximise it. I'd agree he's not needed here because of Martinelli.

4.) 01 Mar 2024 16:33:25
He can also play as an attacking mid I read but we have plenty of options there atm.

5.) 03 Mar 2024 07:57:46
Not sure if it's something anyone would know. But we tried to sign him when we already had martenelli so what would the difference be now. Unless arteta wasn't sure on martenelli at the time.

6.) 11 Mar 2024 10:59:03
Tbf D16 after we missed out on Mudryk, we did sign Trossard, so I guess then we wanted cover and competition for Martinelli which we have now.

7.) 15 Mar 2024 14:03:13
Aside from a couple of recent good goals, he has been terrible for Chelsea. For me, he can stay there.

03 Dec 2023 14:47:34
I know ed002 said CP have no interest in selling but I reckon Michael Olise wouls be a good fit for us if he ever became available.

Sallyjannine

{Ed002's Note - Michael Olise (RW/AM) PSG and Manchester City want him as cover although the departure of Mahrez will mean more opportunities now, but their focus is now on another player. Crystal Palace has no real interest in selling but know that Chelsea want to take Olise back to Stamford Bridge and Olise has made clear that one day he wants to be playing with his brother. Down the list of AM players Chelsea want but they need a replacement for Ziyech and they will perhaps push for him.}

1.) 03 Dec 2023 15:17:12
Thanks for replying Ed.

29 Nov 2023 14:09:07
Just reading Arteta may be willing to let Ramsdale go if he asks for a transfer. For 50m!

I reckon this could be 1 of 3 things:.

1. Its male cow's waste.

2. He values him so highly he doesn't want him to go and so is pricing him out of the market.

3. He thinks he can get that for him as there are rumours linking him with other PL clubs.

Do you have any info please Ed002? You oreviously said Ramdale was biding his tume, has that changed?

Sallyjannine

{Ed002's Note - Aaron Ramsdale (G) Ramsdale is stuck rather and needs to figure out his future with Arsenal. Wolves are very concerned about losing Sa and are keen to take Ramsdale to replace him.}

1.) 29 Nov 2023 14:51:15
Thanks Ed.

2.) 29 Nov 2023 15:33:31
I can't think of anyone (unless they are 18 or 38) in his position who would stay. I would expect him to leave for no less than £30m.

3.) 01 Dec 2023 10:11:43
if I remember correctly he signed a new 5 years deal at the end of last season so we will be in a strong position to command that sort of fee for him.

he still has over half a season to fight for his place, I am a big Ramsdale fan, but I do feel he needs to put up a bit of a fight, he came in as a no 2 and saw no problem challenging the no.1.

we are 13 games into a prem season and people seem to be telling him to wave the white flag and move on. are we going to suggest that if he became England's no,1 he should change the country if a new keeper comes along and challenges him?

he is a good keeper, but he is not a keeper that is ever going to be at a top club without the question if he can be upgraded, so if he wants to play for the top top teams then that is something he is going to have to get used to. or he goes to a Wolves and has a good career without playing at the very top IMO.

4.) 01 Dec 2023 20:15:06
But if the manager has promoted someone above you and clearly prefers him to you, how can you possibly fight for a place?

It certainly appears that MA wants Raya as his number one.

5.) 02 Dec 2023 11:40:50
I suppose the same thing happened to Tierney, another fan favourite. Mind you his unjuries probably had aomething to do with that.

6.) 04 Dec 2023 13:32:38
I guess the team to look at 62 is Man city, which is the team we are all trying to beat and compete with.

John Stones has had to continually fight for his place with several expensive defenders coming into the team, no complaints just keeps fighting.

Jack Grealish went for £100 million - but no finds himself playing back up to the new guy, no complaints just gets on with it and fights.

I don't agree with the way Ramsdale has been dropped without really doing anything on the pitch wrong (obviously we don't know about behind closed doors) but I don't agree that any player should just walk and give up after 14 games of a season because they have lost their place, regardless of the reason if we want to be a top club.

if that makes sense.

Question for ed002 please.

Are Arsenal showing any interest in Vlahovic at the moment Ed?

Sallyjannine

{Ed002's Note - Dusan Vlahovic (S) Only joined in January 2022 but financial issues that Juventus now have and goalscoring problems will determine that he is sold in the summer – but they will hold out for €70M. Regardless of his loss of form, there will be a lot of interest if he is and his agent has approached Manchester United, Chelsea and PSG. Real Madrid are also keen but, like Chelsea, have preferred targets. Chelsea were open to an exchange of players last summer but right now there is no push as his wage demands are seen as excessive and they will look to other targets first. PSG have him as a possible Mbappe replacement - but not first choice - but don't lose sight of them. As a wildcard, Arsenal may rekindle interest but would likely want to include players in any deal. Juventus have already drawn up a list of potential replacements and are working on those.}

1.) 06 Nov 2023 19:14:46
Hi ed, any interest you know of evan Ferguson?

{Ed002's Note - Evan Ferguson (S) Maybe an offer from Newcastle will eventually happen but they have other targets. Spurs are trying to offer a structured way forward for the player who needs to stay where he is for a while. Brighton offered a new contract which places him out of bounds for some years whilst the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea look on.}

2.) 06 Nov 2023 20:09:37
Thanks as always ed002.

3.) 07 Nov 2023 23:26:46
Thanks ed!

Question for ed002 please.
Would you know if Ramsdale is looking for a move away from Arsenal please.

Sallyjannine

{Ed002's Note - I suspect he will see how it goes with opportunities.}

1.) 23 Oct 2023 20:04:46
Thanks Ed, as ever.

So. if anyone thinks our boys didn't give their all I am sad about that. They are young, still learning and they absolutely love our club. So we're not a perfect team, I agree with that, but please don't call them bottlers. Didn't you see how Ode ran himself into the ground chasing the ball?
I think most neutrals accept that City are one step ahead of everyone but we are among the best of the rest!

Sallyjannine

1.) 14 Apr 2024 23:01:49
Hi Sally great post, we've taken 4pts from City and Liverpool for the first time in who knows how long, and today we had a below our brilliant average day at the office. The true bottlers are the fans who threw in the towel today.

2.) 15 Apr 2024 06:39:38
Morning all

Without a doubt we have had a better season than last IMO, still 6 games to go I know. I do think we are long shots for the title now.

There is only one fixture that I see City having a battle in and that is Spuds away but even they are so hit and miss you could see City winning there by 3 or 4 . I just don't see them slipping up if I'm honest. Finishing 2nd ( yes we still might win it ) would be no disgrace and certainly shows some consistency.

Massive game on Wednesday, let's show we have bouncebackability.

:)

3.) 15 Apr 2024 07:45:22
Gunner62 as fans we are all proud but also as fans we know when the team didn’t play well, our emotions are set by how the team play and perform, and yesterday was a bottle job for me, first half to much tippy tappy football in the box, someone needs to take control and shoot, that’s how you score by shooting not having 347 touches in the opposition box, as I’ve said our emotions are set by the team nothing else! I’ve been reading this site for over 7 years and only joined this season, I’ve seen members on here having a go at certain players saying shouldn’t play for the club again and shouldn’t be in the team, those same members calling fans who weren’t happy yesterday bottlers and not true fans, that’s ironic.

4.) 15 Apr 2024 08:41:01
Dublin, that's not a bottle job that's our style of play we have always tapped about around the box looking for that perfect goal. Look at West Ham at home ( we lost ) look at Liverpool in the cup at home ( we lost ) , yesterday we had 18 shots at goal ( 1 every 5 minutes) just 4 on target .

We had a 3 game spell in December where we had 81 shots at goal and just 4 on target. We do shoot we just aren't very good at it, though better than some as our good would suggest.

I take your point though, we do try and have too many touches, just shoot for christ sake. lol.

5.) 15 Apr 2024 10:29:32
Imagine if we had Isak in our lineup! Probably not going to happen but if we had a proven out and out striker those chances would most likely have been converted.

6.) 15 Apr 2024 10:37:14
Totally agree with your assessment about shooting, but I didn’t mean tippy tapping was the reason for bottling it mate just the general play, with the stats you have said in your post mate let’s hope arteta know about that and gets the striker we are craving personally I think the sporting lad will be good for us.

7.) 15 Apr 2024 11:16:09
So every time we don't play at our best or don't win we are bottlers? That's a totally irrational kind of support and way of looking at things in my opinion, and to feel entitled to accuse and abuse the team your supposed to support because they had a bad day raises far more questions about you than it ever does about our fantastic team.

8.) 15 Apr 2024 12:42:02
Now John this is what I was trying to say last week

The doom and gloomers come out

To me they seem happy to come out and put down the team

Never see them when we’re doing good.

9.) 15 Apr 2024 12:46:48
It’s the end of the season gunner 62 and crunch time same thing happend last year that’s not a coincidence we bottled it last year and did the same again yesterday, did I say if we lose any game we are bottlers nope I didn’t so please don’t put words into my mouth gunner 62! But if your 7 points clear or what ever points we were clear last year and throw it away that’s bottling it, and we hade a good run of games winning streak before this game, but when it comes down to the final stages and pressure they bottled it it’s not nice to admit but that’s what happened, it can’t all be rose tint glasses 62 doesn’t work like that life isn’t fair, I know it’s not a nice word but there’s isn’t another word to put there, pressure got to them plain and simple, and I’ve supported arsenal since I was 6, we are entitled to criticise the team it can’t be great every week, so I take it you have never said Wenger out Emery out xhkak out because I’ve seen members criticise other members yesterday over this and that’s pot kettle etc, and as for the type of fan I am you don’t know me or will ever know me, that’s all I have to say on the matter with you as I know the out come when someone argues with you I’ve seen it on many occasions so I will not be replying again thank you.

10.) 15 Apr 2024 14:14:38
Oh yes I most certainly have said Wenger Emery and Xhaka out but not on the basis of 1 bad performance,1 bad result, and never ever when we were just 2 points off top spot with a month to go and in a champions league QF final i haven't. I have Called Merterducker a bottler solely on the grounds of his clearly and deliberately ducking out of 2 headers.

The reality is you threw the towel in yesterday, so your season is done, dusted the way of the dodo, while Arsenal Football Club season is still very much still going veet strong indeed.

11.) 15 Apr 2024 17:54:58
I rest my case pot calling kettle black.

12.) 15 Apr 2024 18:49:50
By your sense of reasoning I guess this makes perfect sense to you. See you in August when your personal Arsenal football club calendar comes back into play again given you gave up on the team yesterday.

13.) 15 Apr 2024 19:39:11
62 you singled out a player to be dropped and two managers to be sacked and lose there jobs and your having a go at me because I think they bottled it wow, I think wishing people to lose there jobs over what someone thinks is a lot worse, but you will prob come back with one of your greeting card sayings as a response!

You can’t say things about me when you have thought worse lol and admitted it, we all have a moan but don’t moan at people when you do it too, that’s just being a hypocrite!

And my calander runs until the last game like yours matey.

14.) 15 Apr 2024 20:00:18
Mal hahahahhaa pot kettle black springs to mind there matey you have your fair share to say with individual players and even managers at least I’m saying the team lol I’m on live chat when ever I’m not working during work no phone policy, if we lose the game I’m online that's just luck as I work most weekends that’s my excuse to being on yesterday, I’ll ask my boss if I can change shifts to suit Malaga’s rules heheheh.

15.) 15 Apr 2024 20:03:08
I rest my case.

08 Apr 2024 10:29:45
Benny Blanco what were you doing? And why?

Sallyjannine

1.) 08 Apr 2024 11:03:52
What’s he done sally?

2.) 08 Apr 2024 13:30:41
Fell to the floor clutching his throat after a little push it seems, unless someone knows better. Perhaps the guy clattered him across his neck but it certainly didn't look like it. It seemed very theatrical and pretty embarrassing. If it was a dive I hope he got a rollicking from Arteta!

3.) 08 Apr 2024 13:31:44
I'm assuming going down like he was shot from a tiny touch, pretty embarrassing ?.

4.) 08 Apr 2024 13:45:05
It was definitely over the top.

5.) 08 Apr 2024 14:16:22
Embarrassing wasn't the word Sally
Hopefully like you said Mikel had a word.

6.) 08 Apr 2024 16:29:46
I'm a big fan of Ben White but he should receive 1 match man imposed by Arsenal for embarrassing Arsenal Football Club in a public place followedby a 10 match ban for second offence, I'd feel exactly the same if it was Saka Saliba or Martinelli.

I couldn't care less about how other players represent or how much they embarrass their clubs, that's for their fans and club to accept or to deal with but I like to think we are far better than that as a football club.

7.) 08 Apr 2024 16:32:30
Everyone does it even jesus was rolling around on the floor at point and got up instantly when the ball got into the box. Its part of football, not nice to see but its there.

8.) 08 Apr 2024 17:06:38
I'm a big fan of White too 62, which is why I feel sad about this.
Hopefully when he sees the footage he won't try it again.

9.) 08 Apr 2024 18:34:36
I hope your right Sally, but 10/ 10 to you for bringing it up and not defending White simply because he is an Arsenal player, huge respect their Sally ????.

{Ed025's Note - i second that G62..

10.) 08 Apr 2024 21:10:09
Of course footballers are human and make mistakes so perhaps I have been a little harsh. How brilliant has he been this year!

02 Apr 2024 18:23:06
Has anyone seen the video clip on Twitter/ X of Jesus singing his heart out to North London Forever? Absolutely got to me lol.

Sallyjannine

{Ed014's Note - yes Sally watched it last week, never seen a player do that kind of thing before.

He really was loving it!

12 Feb 2024 10:58:23
I'm really pleased to hear ESR had a slight injury and that was the reason he wasn't in the squad yesterday. I was worried he had been overlooked again .

The future looks bright with a 16 year old getting on the field :)

Sallyjannine

1.) 12 Feb 2024 20:54:53
I know West Ham had given up by that point but Nwaneri looks so composed on the ball. I've often thought that we often hold out hope of players like Azeez or Patino coming good at Arsenal, but the reality is that if they were good enough, they'd already be in and around the first team - like Saka, Wilshere, Cesc, etc.

2.) 15 Feb 2024 07:51:29
Some talent is used as as investment for the club. Not every talented player can make it for the club, some players don't fit the system so they are good for future sales I think.

3.) 15 Feb 2024 08:51:33
That’s very true Moe mate

City do that all the time.

Jesus is due for an operation in the summer so I expect that's why he isn't playing the full 90 minutes. I think the rotation of Martinelli, Trossard and Jesus seems to be working well atm.

Martinelli's strength is his pace I reckon. One on one he'll always get there first. I'm a big fan.

Sallyjannine

{Ed025's Note - i think he is very talented Sally but i do question his stamina, he seems to be doing very well then fade second half which is why he gets hooked so often, maybe its under instruction that he gives his all early on then gets replaced by either Trossard or Jesus i dont know, but a guy with his skill set should be doing a lot better imo mate..
