Hi Ed's, thanks again for your insight. I understand you've previously said that with regards to a striker, a more modest signing than Martinez is likely. Any idea of who we're looking at?
Thanks again!

{Ed002's Note - Odsonne Edouard (S) West Ham have enquired (with his agent) after the availability of OE but the player is apparently not keen on the move. He was open to a move to Leicester but they moved on. For now there are no offers are on the table but Celtic would listen to a significant offer. Arsenal see the player as a Lacazette replacement and Southampton may try for him. Aston Villa and Brentford interest has gone. Brighton have him as an option.
Paul Onuachu (S) Growing interest but the player wants the Premier League. Arsenal and West Ham have looked at him. Lyon offer an option but the Coutanou Agreement may ease a move to Sevilla.
Moussa Dembele (S) option.
Tammy Abraham (S) Was asked to sign a contract extension but is being a bit of a prima donna and a bitch which the club won't tolerate so the club will let him leave in the summer. Potential option for Wolves and Aston Villa but both have preferred options. West Ham have a huge list of potential striker options and have repeatedly failed to resolve their issue - they may come in to play. Borussia Dortmund asked Chelsea about his availability but it seems unlikely even though they have missed out on their preferred option. Atalanta are pressing Chelsea over the price and may provide a solution. Newcastle, Arsenal and Milan may provide a wildcard options but Milan has preferred targets. Is being offered around.
Ivan Toney (S) The player decided on a move to Brentford in the summer instead of Swansea or Brighton. Celtic also made enquiries. After a very good start to the season he has attracted scouts from a number of Premier League sides including Everton, Leicester, West Ham, Arsenal, and again Brighton. Brentford have no interest in selling.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (S) with Everton in need of adding a strikers and others leaving the chances of DCL being sold unless a very significant offer arises are zip. Arsenal are looking for a striker but any interest they have will be at a far lower fee. Manchesteer United may provide an option but might prefer to wait until next yearExpect him to stay.
Tiago Tomas (F) Sporting are happy to letter the youngster move on as they see his development having stalled. Arsenal has been suggested by his agent as a possible destination - although he would not be one for the first team at this time but might be a potential replacement if Arsenal were to lose Folarin Balogun.
Joaquin Correa (F/AM) West Ham had JC on a lengthy list of targets after his agent hawked him around the London clubs but were put off by the €40M asking price. Lazio want to upgrade and are willing to sell. Spurs has an interest but would want a loan to buy as they regroup under Paratici and have a preferred option to replace Kane but do not be surprised at an offer. Arsenal have made an "inadequate" offer for the player as they are struggling to find buyers and have taken to a bit of a scatter gun approach. If Icardi leaves PSG he is very much on their list. Chelsea have preferred options but he has been offered to them, Everton, Inter (who will be interested if Martinez or Lukaku leave) and Manchester City.}

Thanks Ed :)

2.) 07 Aug 2021 16:52:09
Cheers for the excellent info ed002. Thanks again for keeping us in the know. Have a great weekend mate!

{Ed002's Note - Thanks, and you.}

23 Aug 2020 15:52:49
Ed002, do you know if we are pushing for aouar. I saw you said City were interested as a second choice in the MC group. can't see us trumping up the money for him but one can only dream.

{Ed002's Note - No.}

1.) 23 Aug 2020 16:24:03
Seriously what is your problem ed002, why is everything a hassle. You come across as if you literally hate being asked questions and that begs another question. Why do you bother being on here if it clearly irritates you this much to reply to peoples perfectly acceptable questions?

I actually had to start an account to get this off my chest.

{Ed0666's Note - You got all that from a simple ‘no’? How can you give Ed002 a verbal volley when he answered you’re question? Keep up the abuse and all that’s gonna happen is he will stop editing the arsenal page and it will be editors like me who have no inside knowledge on anything Arsenal answering you’re questions. I know which I’d prefer.

2.) 23 Aug 2020 17:00:22
Lol Ed00666 your so right. Imagine answering a closed question with a clear definitive answer and the poster not being happy!

3.) 23 Aug 2020 17:27:16
DT mate, Ed002 gets numerous questions and sometimes questions which he has answered gets asks again. I’m guilty of this myself (he actually got annoyed at me last week lol) but he’s a great guy. Him and ed001 take the time to share knowledge which they know and it’s very respectable.

4.) 23 Aug 2020 18:15:53
Just to point out I was the poster and I am perfectly happy with Ed's response. I understand that it takes time to trawl through the numerous questions and whilst some answers seem abrupt, they are perfectly good responses.

5.) 23 Aug 2020 18:19:18
Mate, the Eds don't get paid for this, and ed002 like 666 said, has inside knowledge so we are lucky he is happy telling us what he knows. It must be very frustrating being asked the same questions day in day out.

6.) 23 Aug 2020 18:23:27
Long time reader, but have never posted before. I felt the need to post just to condemn the idiocy of that comment. Ed002 provides more detailed and higher quality info than any media source, and purely out of courtesy. It is only when posters pose questions which are non-sensical or repetitive that responses are more terse. It can surely be annoying to deal with fans’ persistent questioning yet general lack of knowledge of the business/ legal side of the sport.

In the context of this post, what more do you want? Aouar is a player whose quality has been known for years and recently shown on the biggest stage of club football. If you need more details as to why Arsenal won’t be signing him this summer, you need to come to terms with the reality of the club’s current standing.

7.) 23 Aug 2020 18:52:35
Yankee, as I said above, I am the original poster and did not have a problem with ed002's responses, that was someone else. I don't need to ask anything further with regards to aouar.

8.) 23 Aug 2020 17:32:53
Let’s face it edo666 your knowledge in most things it pretty limited 😀.

{Ed0666's Note - I will not attempt to dispute that piece of wisdom Malaga, when it comes to cerebral capabilities I was definitely at the back of the line when they were handing that out...But I was knowledgeable enough to support a football team that wins trophies from time to time and I can allocate my Thursday nights to doing something far more productive than watching arsenal play on Channel 5 or the Dave channel 😍😘

9.) 23 Aug 2020 19:14:37
Hey Groger, apologies if it came across that my post was directed at you - your question was reasonable and of
course well within your right to ask (after all we can always hope these caliber of players will come) . My reply was solely in response to DT’s comment. Nothing wrong with asking questions, but Ed answered in a reasonable manner, and I don’t think it takes any in-depth analysis to explain why Aouar won’t be coming to us this summer - same reason we won’t be getting Sancho, Havertz, etc.

10.) 23 Aug 2020 20:13:43
No worries, all good! Been following Aouar for ages and got all excited whith the rumours. One can only dream.

11.) 24 Aug 2020 11:23:14
DT 1989 what a clown you are.

20 May 2020 01:55:05
Hello eds, hope you're all well and safe! Just wanted to know your opinions on Kokcu. Havent really seen or heard much about him so would be great to hear how you rate him.
Also, does it still stand that we will only go after him if we shift ozil or will we regardless

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal will look to buy him and will continue to try and find a way to move Oezil on. The player is well thought of in the Netherlands and there is interest from Spain.}

1.) 20 May 2020 11:09:42
Ed when you have the time would we have a list of ins and outs at arsenal this season (only if there are any updates or changes) . Thank you.

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed.}

2.) 20 May 2020 11:52:11
Cheers ed!

26 Mar 2019 17:17:17
Hi Eds,
Any word on our potential link with Herrera. Personally think it would be a great buy

{Ed002's Note - I am sorry, I know nothing of it.}

1.) 28 Mar 2019 14:01:36
Hello ed, there’s been so much links to David Alaba. I know it’s far-fetched but are we interested?

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any interest being shown by Arsenal at this time, but there have been talks with another side about him.}

2.) 28 Mar 2019 21:01:10
Ed I promise I’m not just saying random names but what about Samuel Umtiti. Interest from arsenal?

{Ed002's Note - Samuel Umtiti (CB) - decision is that he is not up to scratch - to be sold. I am not aware of Arsenal knocking on the door.}

3.) 29 Mar 2019 07:27:25
Interesting that we're not in for Umtiti. Ball playing defender with a history of brain farts? We're usually all over that. My guess is that he'll end up at Chelsea.

{Ed001's Note - he is not a ball playing defender, that is the problem he is having at Barca. He tries to be one, which is what goes wrong.}

4.) 30 Mar 2019 04:10:42
If you're playing at Barca, is it not necessary that you be good with the ball, Ed001?

{Ed001's Note - which is why Umtiti has been deemed not up to scratch mate. They don't think he is good enough.}

19 Jul 2018 10:48:00
Hi ed002

Judging by your sharkopod, i'm assuming that our transfer business is wrapped up this window. Reports saying that we are interested in kingsly coman, but can you see another winger coming in?

{Ed002's Note - I explained that Arsenal have been looking for a winger and I don't recall saying business is done. I would not hold your breath over any move for Kingsley Coman - Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben are coming to the end of their careers at the highest level and he is certainly not on the list of players Bayern have informed that can leave this summer.}

1.) 19 Jul 2018 13:34:32
Great, thanks for the quick reply!

2.) 19 Jul 2018 18:32:17
Ed02, i would imagine ins will depend on outs, is that right.

{Ed002's Note - Try the Sharkopods.}

3.) 19 Jul 2018 19:26:36
I did ed and very good it is too.

Hi eds,
Was wondering if you knew anything about Ozil's contract situation? Is it looking likely that he will sign a new contract? Same goes for Jack. Both playing well!

{Ed002's Note - I try and avoid everything about contracts - they are not of interest. However, if Arsenal make a stupid offer Oezil may agree another contract. I can't help about JW}

21 Jun 2017 13:05:11
Welbeck given Number 7 shirt at the store. Thanks for the good times Alexis.

1.) 21 Jun 2017 14:41:27
Another example of media spinning things and people being gullible. It doesn't mean he's leaving. Granted he probably will but this indicates nothing. At the top of that very same list was alexis with the number 7. They wouldn't have advertised both if he was 100% leaving.

2.) 21 Jun 2017 17:42:13
You can't buy a Wilshere 10 shirt, what do you think about that Sanogo?

3.) 21 Jun 2017 18:39:47
I'm having trouble getting this season Benzema shirt too, I've had not problem the last 5 seasons, I've had to settle for an Higuain home and away for this season :- ( what ever is going on?

4.) 21 Jun 2017 18:48:44
Ffs stoner it was going to be my one saving grace mate. Get his number on my back every year. In an ideal world we make signings that we need and Jackie boi comes back and does the business for the gooners. i love anyone who bleeds arsenal mate.

5.) 22 Jun 2017 07:09:56
Sanogo it would be fantastic if that happened and having been a huge fan of his nothing would please me more.

Sadly the games I watched him play for Bournemouth he looked a total shadow of the player I believed he was going to be.

6.) 22 Jun 2017 18:51:13
I don't believe it stoner the guy looks like a world beater. And no I'm not taking these rose tinted specs off.

7.) 22 Jun 2017 19:40:06
OMG Stoner! You just said something negative about Jack! You think you can just speak about his shadow without repercussions? Now Sonogo is going to have to keel you! Was nice knowing you mate.

8.) 22 Jun 2017 22:12:21
Jesus Sharpie, I thought I'd got away with it but you've just stoked his fire. I'm leaving the country A-sap! 😂.

15 Jun 2016 00:09:06
Don't see why we don't go in for Lacazette. PSG, Tottenham and West Ham are all showing interest as far as i am aware. Does Wenger not rate him?

Thanks Eds.

{Ed091's Note - ill text him and ask.

1.) 15 Jun 2016 12:51:36
Few times I've seen him live he's looked pants.

Anyone notice who's been starting up front for France? ;-)

2.) 15 Jun 2016 13:40:28
Did he reply ed091 :p.

{Ed091's Note - he says he rates them all as equal, like his children.

08 Jun 2016 20:52:20
Hi eds, hearing that we recently put in a bid for Mahrez. Bit of a longshot I know, but any truth in it?

09 Jan 2016 09:35:46
Hi Eds,
Just reading all this stuff about pep would be a perfect fit for us. Say Wenger does win the league, would him going upstairs and pep coming in be a possibility or is it just between City, united and chelsea for his signature?

1.) 09 Jan 2016 10:00:17
If Wenger were to leave at the end of his current contract in 2017, I do not believe he will consider moving upstairs. Assuming his health holds, I believe he may, if offered take another club job abroad, possibly at PSG and then manage the French national team. As Wenger keeps himself fit and loves the day to day work running a club side, I could see him managing at club level until his mid-70's. Don't rule out an extension of his current deal at Arsenal. He is taking the club into a new era, with 2 FA Cup wins and a serious Premier League challenge this season. Imagine he were to win the Premier League this season and follow that up with a successful 2016-2017 season, would he want to leave without winning the Champions League, assuming he has a squad capable of challenging?

{Ed025's Note - its called going out at the top RG, SAF did the same mate..

2.) 09 Jan 2016 13:09:58
I may be proved wrong, but I don't think Wenger would depart as a desire to go out at the top. He has stated that assuming his health holds, he would depart when he believes he has taken the club as far as he can. I also believe, he was wounded by the fans turning on him, as well as the possibility that now his marriage has broken down and his daughter has grown up, he may have other reasons, possibly a new partner, to be in France.

3.) 09 Jan 2016 13:51:13
Rg69, he will be offered a role uostairs. He might or might not take it. But as for moving abroad full time, no he wont. He's lived in the same part of London going to the same restaurants and seeing his same local friends for 20 years practically. He's settled. At most he'll take the France national job because that is practically part time. But I know for a fact he's settled where he is.

Barring some questionable transfer fees and serious lack of urgency I am quietly optimistic about the incomings this transfer window. We have to be realistic that none of them are world beaters but have the potential (Lokonga, Ødegaard, White, Ramsdale) to be a solid spine in the future to build around. Ideal window for me would be Aouar (just so Sp*rs don't get him ) and a RB (maybe Aarons) after getting rid of the deadwood. Looks like we should aim for top 6 this season then get in a proper striker next season to replace Laca and Auba.

So am I correct in thinking you don't think Rashford should have spoken about school dinners, Malaga? Is the China Uighur situation not popular enough for you or is it because you're not well enough versed to run commentary on what Ozil's beliefs are?
