I'm a big Tierney fan since he won me over last season and I'm not against him coming back for tomorrow's game but equally i'm not sure one bad game should cost a player his place especially when it's in a poor team performance, it's a tricky one for me this one.

Yes he had a mare last time so perhaps keep him against Newcastle to give him a second chance. He did well apart from that one game.

I agree Sally Tierney is definitely number 1 but dropping a young player who's done really well after 1 bad performance could be damaging long term, let him get the Liverpool experience out of his head tomorrow then bring back Tierney at United in my opinion.

So how do you justify dropping him if he has a great game against Newcastle. That makes less sense surely.

I see your point SY but for me it's like learning to ride a bike and falling off for the first time, it's better to take a break on a high.
If one bad game warrants being automatically dropped then Auba has enough being left out in hand to retire last March ?.

He was always number two and therefore 1 slip up before CT takes his spot and he had a really poor game. You can’t have a “earn your jersey” mentality and not live by it. PEA should be dropped but we don’t really have any options as Martinelli, Eddie or Balogun probably aren’t snapping at his heels
At some point PEA needs to be under pressure.

We all have opinions SY and all managers have different styles, some would as you say have one bad game and your out for all mentality, others would have different rules for different players (worst mangers in my opinion) and others would look at the lads overall contribution so far and have a decision to make.
Personally I don't think anyone is too big to be dropped or anyone to small to show understanding towards.
