So holding tied down long term, we all happy about that?

I think when he gets a run of games he’s alright not a world beater. he was doing really well with Emery until that injury against Man U.

Yes and that we are addressing his contract 👍.

I think Rob is a good player to have in the squad. He's never going to set the world on fire but steady is OK as well.

Yeah I reckon too, I can see him being versatile and covering CM and fullback if needed. Good one to tie up I think.

Good bit of work here. Personally think we should only be offering long term contracts to youngsters and negotiate early on rather than wait for the last 18 months. Anyone over 29 term contracts should only get short ones 2/ 3 years max.

G4eva I agree to an extent but in the past it has bitten us on the bum.

Certain positions mature later in their career, ie goalkeepers and cb’s so really each contract extension should be negotiated by someone with a footballing brain and knowledge of the individuals fitness.

But tying down our young players is very important if they are showing promise and playing regularly.

I think Holding is one of our three best central defenders now - along with Gabriel, and, it seems, Mari.
I think it is great business.
Along with Tierney and Martinez - oh, wait! - we have four of our five defensive positions covered for first choice.
Now, if only we could get that Tariq Lamptey instead of sadly-past-it Hector (I like Hector but he hasn’t been the same since his bad injury) .

I think holding deserves a new contract yes he's a world beater but reliable. I think now we need a replacement for Bellerin and our back four or five can be sorted.
