Hello everyone
Just like to ask the Eds and posters about Zinchenko.
I have gave him stick here on a couple of occasions in the past when he has played at lb and he has been poor. I seen him play in midfield which showcases his skills more and he is obviously a very good footballer but no lb.
Do you think he could do a job in midfield and save us looking to by a dm.
Views greatly appreciated.

{Ed014's Note - that’s the issue Bill, I don’t think he’s a defensive mid and with our progression it would feel like a backward step.

Whilst he has ability going forward are we really looking at another almost attacking mid.

If we get a quality DM to play alongside Declan and Martin there won’t be many teams with a better midfield.

I really like Partey, just age and more so his constant injuries are a killer as he needs regular football to get to his best.

It’s a shame Tierney doesn’t fit the role profile for the LB in Arteta’s plan.

I’ve also no idea of the plan for Timber as he came on in place of Ben on the right.🤷‍♂️

If Zinchenko were to stay i'd like to see him in the left 8 role. I don't like his defending as an lb and he takes too many risks on the ball to be a deep-lying playmaker.

One way to set up would be Rice as a 6 flanked with two 8's (Odegaard on the right and Smith Rowe/ Vieira/ Zinchenko/ new signing on the left) . As a more defensive option Rice could be the left 8 and a dm (Partey/ Jorginho/ new signing) would be 6.

Couldn’t be more proud of this team on too next season, after the game today the commentators mentioned that coming second this season will affect Arsenal next season as the wounds will still be open, I have to strongly disagree with that as i personally think last year was worse we actually lost the title ourselves after a huge gap in points, and look how good we have been this season, a world class forward world class cm and some squad players to push the team on and I really think next year will be our best season in the last 20 years COYG.

Hi guys end of yet another season, my 67th. But for some poor results like Villa and Hammers it could have been so much better. But it wasn’t we a striker more than anything else, sure we would have got better results.
But Mikel has given us our pride back to finish 2nd to probably the best team in the world, how ever illegally they’ve acted and push them to their absolute limit says something a out us.
So onwards and upwards guys, a massive thank you to all the Ed’s for their hard work in making this my favourite site. Also big thanks to all the posters on the live chat we’ve had some laughs and you’ve all cheered me up.
So guys roll on next season.

Not me Jonesy. Ultimately we took 4 from 6 from them - an incredible achievement. You can spin a narrative around any time we dropped points this season but the only time it really ended up mattering was Villa at home. Thought we did enough to win that game comfortably but got sucker punched twice. Got to hand it to Mikel, with the exception of Villa we really had the big teams number this year.

Nor me wire! At the time I think we were one point ahead of City - draw which we played for - kept it in our own hands lose in City hands! They also do quite well at home! Can’t legislate for Villa at home! We lost league due to Villa Fulham and Wet Spam games but I am really really nit picking! COYG.

Over to course of 38 games you're going to have bad results and bad performances. Sure the results against Villa and West Ham weren't good but at least i thought we were performing decently. The stand out bad performance and result was Fulham away. But then again it's nearly impossible to keep a good level for the whole season so can't really fault the team.

Jonesy - no. 4 points against them is fine. I wish we had been braver in the summer. We needed a Granite replacement, a leftback, a keeper and a decent striker. We go into this window - the same.

Rice was a bargain but needs a proper partner and we desperately need an upgrade on Kai / Eddie / Jesus as our striker options. Same position for 2 years if we are honest. We’ve done great but they are the fine margins. There are other games that I wish Arteta had been braver and wiser. Fulham, Villa and West Ham games.

The tinkering at the start of the season cost us a bit but to be fair - we’ve progressed, closed gap on a team on financial steroids who are immune to the laws that every other team plays by and we are young. I think we’ve played within ourselves since the business end of the season and we need to figure thst out. BUT we competed right to the last day and squad is wiser, better and more experienced. Next year could be the year!

You can really see the disappointment on the boys faces. They deserve all the respect for this amazing season.

What is disappointing is seeing teams and fans are willing to lose and see city break another record. Such a shame

Don't blame spurs mate, blame Arsenal losing to west ham, villa and fulham cost you the league as a Liverpool fan we know how hard it is to be beaten by the odd point so have a good idea how you're feeling, but look at your own team first and don't make excuses. You have a very good young side and will be challenging next season and hopefully we will be up there with you two. Keep heads up gooners.
