Hi Ed002 Sorry to disturb you I`m sure you are very busy but I`ve just seen an article stating Edu has contacted Napoli regarding Osimhen and was given encouragement from his agent. Have we indeed contacted Napoli or is this just click bait? I have searched but couldn`t find anything. No worries if too busy just thought I`d ask COYG.
{Ed002's Note - Victor Osimhen (S) Napoli made it clear to Chelsea who enquired in 2021 that even €100M would not buy the player then and buy now they would look to around double that. He will not move this summer although an offer could yet be made by Al-Hilal will offer him a chance in the Middle East. Interest of Manchester City went with Haaland signing last year but may return if he were to depart. Real Madrid interest is elsewhere and Manchester United have opted for another. Conte wanted him at Spurs as a Kane replacement but the new management has other ideas. Bayern Munich now have Kane and that removes their interest and he is too expensive for Milan regardless of investment coming in. This leaves PSG, Chelsea and Arsenal, and his “agent” is doing the rounds this month to try and get them to seek to agree a deal with Napoli for next summer and give him a large fee now. Chelsea are not interested in such a deal. I doubt the others would be stupid enough to commit such huge amounts of money in such a deal either.}

Hi Ed002 hope you`re well. Are Arsenal interested in Raya from Brentford? At reported £40mill seems a lot when we need it spent elsewhere. Thanks for any insight in advance COYG.
{Ed002's Note - David Raya (G) Not first choice, but a good option for Manchester United. Chelsea should not be discounted. Won't sign a new contract. Spurs stepped back due to the price. Arsenal offer an option but are looking to a cheap deal and may offer up a player in exchange. Brentford will likely get an offer from Bayern Munich which suits the player but will lokk tonegotiate the price up a little.}

Fair enough Ed001, as well he should. I just don't see how Raya or Ramsdale would be any different.
{Ed001's Note - well Ramsdale is playing so that is a huge difference. Turner needs to play for his international place. Raya would be an odd one though, unless Arteta sees him as a Ramsdale replacement, I fail to see why he would want to move to Arsenal. He would lose any chance of international footie if he couldn't displace Ramsdale.}

Surely the role of number 2 keeper is for an up and coming young keeper or a past their best experienced keeper. It's such a specialised position where no matter how brilliant both keepers might be there is no formation or system within the game that can accommodate both at the same time.
The absolute worse case scenario would be taking it in turns to play as with Peter Shilton and Ray Clemence for England under Ron Greenwood.

Raya is an upgrade, plain and simple Arsenal are acting like a top club now. They will both stay for a year and then Ramsdale will be sold to an Everton or Villa type team next summer, assuming Raya isn't a complete flop.

Obviously givin the two clubs current positions and performances over the season so far tonight is a should win game but as Gabi says you can take nothing for granted in football especially PL football and thinking you can is always a huge mistake. Goes without saying tonight is a must win game and anything would be little short of title hopes finished. Its tough at the top.

Not Arsenal related although our players are not immune, but crikey Andrea Perreira tonight hit the floor as if hit by a wrecking ball and he was barely touched trying to get Van Dijk sent off.
If he’s that badly hurt can we not just put a screen up and put him out of his misery? At the very least a yellow for simulation / overacting - it’s simulation to gain an advantage.

Thanks Bill it just winds me up a bit like keepers feigning injury late on and falling to the ground to waste time. What happened to you had 6 or 8 seconds to release the ball, 10 yards further forward for dissent, 12 minutes injury time and while we`re at it jumpers for goalposts. If VAR is progress we are all in trouble COYG Raya and Ramsdale can do all the above though - happy with that :)

Maybe Eden but are we just ignoring the £1 BILLION NET they spent more than us! We could have bought 15 Pepe’s for that! They may well have sold well they are good players! I hope you’re not on the premier league FFP charging panel which charges runs from 2009-2018 ( the billion pound era ) I agree it is a bit skewed! Can we look at net spend from 2008 not what suits the bias. Up until 2019 ( from 2008 ) believe C£ty net spent £1.2 billion on players! In which case everyone has fecked up and the answer is to sack MA and get Man City manager - he must be good! Thank goodness they haven’t got 115 charges over them . Not sure if we have any! My question Banbury is are we improving! In my opinion absolutely! You do realise C£ty did the treble last year and not only spent more than us but Timber has been out all year! Their signings have played! Do we realistically automatically assume we spent the money so should win the league even though C£ty spent more. Chelsea spent a gazillion and but for Palmer would be god knows where. He like Saka will get marked next season! Just look at the squad when MA took over - we have overhauled and with some fantastic players and still in the title race with six games to go! Spurs Chelsea and United were out of it in August! I don’t see the players downing tools but playing for the manager! Rare for us particularly in latter Wenger and Emery years. When it’s mathematically impossible to win the league then we can dissect! But a c£ty draw and we win puts us above them! Me Uncle John used to say defeat is what you stand on but feck me some on here are horizontal! I wouldn’t go into battle with them! Can’t believe I’m saying it but MA in and we are still in it - a lot is down to MA in my opinion COYG win lose or draw Gunners Forever ( but if we don’t win the league because we are improving I’m not throwing anyone under a bus!
