This doesn't look good for our Benz push. Not entirely sure who This Jeinny lass is except what it says on her twitter profile:

{Ed001's Note - was there something other than pictures to see there???? Damn was I meant to read something?}

1.) 11 Aug 2015 12:22:23
I just can't see it happening. Benzema is at Real Madrid who have a high chance of La Liga title and no doubt minimum of a semi final in the Champions League. He also has his France spot to hold down and playing at Real Madrid he will get his chance even though people chirp up that Rafa will play Bale or Ronaldo as the out and out striker leaving Benzema out, can't see that if Benzema plays and plays well he`ll keep his spot surely? Now if he decides to sign for Arsenal his situation changes he now has to adapt to the EPL and all the pressure to perform instantly to win over the Gooners and to hold down a France strikers spot for Euros2016. Of the two choices staying at Real looks more comfortably but hey what do I may talk but can anyone see Wenger lumping it on Benzema or another top top striker like Lewandowski, Higuain or Llorente? Arsene pays what he feels the price the player is worth and i'm sorry todays market is still on the rise for quality. Keep the faith Gooners we could still have Lord Bedtner or Sanogo within the squad. COYG

2.) 11 Aug 2015 12:26:06
LOL Ed001 - Okay, I'll admit I spent a bit of the afternoon looking at "pictures" ... but then the wife came home and I was forced to read ....

{Ed001's Note - I never even noticed the writing.}

3.) 11 Aug 2015 12:33:07
Sooo I did not get to the reading part on her Twitter , fantastic photos but...

4.) 11 Aug 2015 14:53:04
I'm in love

5.) 11 Aug 2015 14:34:51
Ed001 ... didn't you JUST get married? tut tut

{Ed001's Note - not yet mate, just got engaged, so it is ok. Well so long as the missus never finds out anyway ;o)

6.) 11 Aug 2015 16:23:12
Ed001, I'm sure Ed002 will tell her. Women tend to stick together when it comes to wandering eyes. Anywho ... never really expected this post to become a Jeinny lovefest. It was honestly posted for the editorial.

Think I'll go have another "read" now ... you know, just in case I missed anything on the first go.

{Ed001's Note - luckily Ed002 is away on holibobs at the moment....}

7.) 11 Aug 2015 17:31:21
They all look like that after 12 pints but a word of warning don't do a sleep over. One way by night and completely and totally unrecognisable way by day.

8.) 11 Aug 2015 23:20:19
i love how twitter works and all these closet ITK;s who come out with their deadline ultimatums and unlimited medicals.

i do use twitter but for the sake of sanity mostly for banter and less for transfer.

but i did see some italian journalist tweet being retweetd.

not a direct quote but something like this.

tweet 1 : benzema to sign on sunday or monday

tweet 2 : benzema in london for medical

tweet 3 : benzema deal agreed ( one week after he was to sign)

tweet 4 : been told that man city and bayern want benzema

tweet 5 : benzema wants arsenal and will have talks with guardiola and wenger

tweet 6 : wenger has spoken to benzema and its up to arsenal to pay

well you get the drift.

what i'm wondering is how does he know soo quickly what wenger and benzema discussed? does wenger tweet secretly?

maybe wengers handle is notarsenewenger? and benzema is notbenzema?

its just a shame to see soo many headless chickens being directed to the slaughter house.

Dear Ed02,

The language we speak in England, is rich and varied with an eclectic mix of accents and tones which are steeped in history and tradition. We have a knack of coining phrases which aptly and deftly describe in great detail, complexity and dexterity, exactly what we are aspiring to achieve with the fluent music of language. Our great nation has exposed to the English-speaking world such marvelous manipulators of the spoken and written word. I propose to you: Shakespeare, William Blake, John Milton, Jonathan Swift, Charles Dickens, Rudyard Kipling, Oscar Wilde, C. S. Lewis, George Orwell, H. G. Wells, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, J. R. R. Tolkien - and the list could go on and on. Men who were masters of their own craft, and on whose genius did we inherit in the ways of the spoken word and form our dialect for it to evolve into an immense, all encompassing language of divine measure that today is simply and humbly known as 'The English Language'.

And so, for the last time, it's not fecking soccer, it's football.

😀 I'm adding this smile emoji in the hopes that you'll take this in the spirit in which it was intended.

1.) 08 Aug 2018 10:46:19
You what?
That's all French to me mate :-)

2.) 08 Aug 2018 12:46:46
😂😂😂 your humour is not grasped by everyone Sharpie but it’s right up my street. 🤪.

{Ed001's Note - there is just one problem. Soccer is an English word dating back to the days when there was confusion over which code was being referred to when the word 'football' was used. Hence the origins of 'rugger' to refer to rugby football and 'soccer' to refer to association football. It was soccer to the English long before football came to refer purely to association football.....}

3.) 08 Aug 2018 15:35:24
It’s a weird one that ed because I never use the word soccer, it’s always play footie or watch the footie.

I don’t really know anyone that refers to football as soccer, Americans aside.

I should add I have no problem with Americans or their use of the word soccer and love listening to the commentary on MLS games. I’d really like to go to a game when I’m over there next.

{Ed001's Note - Europeans always use the word soccer. It went out of use in England in the 60s I believe but it is an English word. For me it is footie as well.}

4.) 08 Aug 2018 16:00:03
I never knew the Europeans used the word soccer as well, I have always understood the need for Americans to disnigish between American football and the real thing though :-)
It's football! Always should have been football too, if rugby is such a problem simply ban rugby completely and re-educate those who feel the need to pick the ball up with thier hands and run with it, I'm sure they've all mastered the use of knives and forks so I'm sure they could master real proper FOOTBALL too, if not there is always basketball or netball they could play.

{Ed0333's Note - I must admit mate I have to call it soccer as I live in the states and it’s the only way to distinguish it from American football over here.

5.) 08 Aug 2018 18:01:28
To be fair it needs to be changed to American rugbyball.

6.) 08 Aug 2018 21:00:37
Didn't know that either Ed01. Googled it too because I thought you were fibbing.

First time I ever heard the word soccer was when it was uttered by this extremely nice American woman I worked with. I must have been 16-17.

I was taking to her and she, out of nowhere, says, "Oh you mean soccer! "

I mean WHAT now? I Altavista'd that word back then.

7.) 08 Aug 2018 17:17:50
Yes Ed0333 mate, it does make sense in the states to call it soccer, I don't suppose it really mate really matters what we call it because the football world cup isn't called the greatest show on earth for no reason.
The Olympics is no where near it, every country that holds the Olympics loses money while the world cup hosts always make a good profit from holding it.
Football soccer call it what you want it's simply the best sport in the world.

{Ed0333's Note - I honestly think ice hockey, snooker, tennis and cricket are up there also mate. But hey that’s just my humble opinion.

8.) 09 Aug 2018 05:13:13
Ice hockeys awesome! got to love a good high speed smash in to the wall and a wobbly punch up on ice! 😂 Mighty ducks was my favourite film growing up must of watched it daily! Parents took me to watch two of the Great hockey teams play: Slough vs Hull! 😂 They had really low walls! Nearly got hit in the face with the Puck! but got to keep it, well good day!

06 Aug 2018 14:24:43
My league table prediction for the season.
1. Man City
2. Liverpool
3. Arsenal
4. Spuds
5. Man Utd.
6. Chelsea

Any rival fans reading this, understand that the above is my prediction and that I know I'm not Nostradamus. Feel free to add your own predictions.

1.) 06 Aug 2018 14:47:40
My head says

My heart says

2.) 06 Aug 2018 14:58:17
I think you’re not far off Sharpie mate as everything points toward 3rd to 6th as being up for grabs with Liverpool and City the two obvious standouts.

I would be well happy with 3rd but have no real idea where we’ll end up. If Unai sorts the defence then it could be happy days.

3.) 06 Aug 2018 14:59:44
Everton/ burnley.

4.) 06 Aug 2018 16:49:44
Man u

5.) 06 Aug 2018 17:01:05

6.) 06 Aug 2018 19:09:55
Citeh, liverpool, chelski, utd, arsenal, spuds.

7.) 06 Aug 2018 21:13:51
All very realistic predictions lads with none of the rose-tinted special Arsenal glasses of previous seasons.
I think it's a good sign that we as a whole club are on the way back.

8.) 07 Aug 2018 00:18:58
Utd will make the top4. Chelsea won't. I think the last spot will be between us and Tottenham. Title citys again with liverpool giving it a good go.

9.) 07 Aug 2018 15:50:31
I fancy it to be Liverpool's year this year. I think it will be close But City may just have one eye on the champions league this time around and it is aways much harder to hold onto your title than regain it from someone that motivation is alwasy quite there.

I predict Liverpool, City, Utd and I think we can just pip it in 4th.

A transfer window just isn't the same without him.

After his performances at the World Cup, Neymar is the favourite to win the FIFA Fallon D'Floor!

1.) 07 Jul 2018 17:28:27

25 Jun 2018 12:56:06
Is it just me or has the World Cup been a little underwhelming this time around (so far) ?

Usually there's a few new players that really excite and set things on fire, but there's not been any of that, for me at least.

1.) 25 Jun 2018 14:04:41
I am really enjoying the World Cup so far. It usually moves on to an even higher level during the knock out stage.
As regards the players, since TV coverage has grown we see so many matches from all over the world, that very few top players can escape being seen.

2.) 25 Jun 2018 14:06:58
I was worried to death about you sharpie, someone said you got hit by a bloody woman driver the other day. Glad your fit and well mate 😂.

3.) 25 Jun 2018 14:33:15
Its definitely not the same with it being in russia.

4.) 25 Jun 2018 14:37:39
I have thoroughly enjoyed the world cup so far. It's been full of good football, exciting results and some wonderful goals. Not disappointed at all.

5.) 25 Jun 2018 15:30:14
Was she in a car Sanogo or did she just deck him! 😜.

6.) 25 Jun 2018 16:07:56
Sano, Stoner - I'll have the last laugh lads as I'm gearing up my new business selling clutches to the Saudis. Handbags or mechanical parts, those ladies won't know the difference.

So I'm the only one not getting into this WC?

7.) 25 Jun 2018 17:03:56
I think the best thing about it mate is the South American fans, they said the other day there were 47,000 fans of one of the countries and I think 30,000 Colombians at another game. The Mexican team have been brilliant.

Maybe they just don’t believe the hype about Russia. A lot of people over there are saying how great it is.

8.) 25 Jun 2018 18:02:24
Shhh don’t let g62 hear you stoner! He assured everyone that going over there was crazy as those Russians are barbaric backwards idiots, I think he even suggested that Russia shouldn’t be allowed to hold world cups until they agree to his way of thinking. Seen some nazi saluting brits though. Maybe we should be banned from future competitions 😂

As I said all along it was anti Russian propaganda hype.

Hey sharpie, I like your style mate. My missus has taken off both wing mirrors smashe the front and back and scratched all the sides in 8-9 incidents over the past year our garage love her 😂.

9.) 25 Jun 2018 18:43:00
Sano, it was probably propaganda hype to some extent but i have been reading about a russian journalist. He says the last two years the russian military/ police have been doing dawn raids on the russian ultras. They have systematically arrested, beat and torchered all their ring leaders, about 200 of them and turned them all into quivering wrecks. Apparently the hardline ultras are hiding away not daring to come out. They were planning to wreak carnage. I suppose you don't mess with the russians.

10.) 25 Jun 2018 19:00:16
Well if that’s the case I say they have done a bloody good job! Some respond to the carrot and some respond to the stick that’s life.

11.) 25 Jun 2018 19:28:23
Not quite the words I used Sanogo mate :-) but no I wouldn't have gone for free and wouldn't have advised any one else to either.
I would much rather be proved wrong than right on this one and I hope everyone who attends from all over the world has a great trouble free world cup and everyone is talking about Russia 2018 for all the right reasons for years to come.

12.) 25 Jun 2018 19:30:41
I am personally glad that it’s gone well thus far .

13.) 25 Jun 2018 21:09:41
Me too mate, to hope the opposite would be madness.
Like I say mate if Russia 2018 comes and goes and is remembered for the football and nothing else then it's been a tremendous success for all concerned and Russia in particular.

14.) 27 Jun 2018 10:55:38
It's been a stinker so far, boring games too.

Sano doesn't want pictures. He wants a buxom blonde to be sent round his gaff to hold his hand while she explains it. How difficult can that be to get done Ed?

I've not got much to say about almost all of your post except the Henry part. I remember when I got my very first REAL job, it was at a bank. I interviewed for this job while I was working at a club. The bank did specify that I couldn't work at the club any longer.

You and I don't know what kind of conflict of interested the club may have been trying to avoid, but it is not unusual for a company to ask you not to work in similar industries or in places that could reflect badly on people's sense of professionalism - like in my case with the bank and club.

At the end of the day, none of us really know what is happening at the club. We pick up sound bites and extrapolate our own scenarios from there. We do all this while levelling accusations at a man that are probably entirely false.

RG61, I wholeheartedly stand behind fans that give the current regime their full support. In fact, I think it would be very fickle of fans if they didn't.

My point is, if all it took is someones opinion to irritate you and make you start slating them, I'd be doing it to you about 3 to 4 times a day.

Whatever you think of Arsene, the man shed blood, sweat and tears for our club and deserves more than the annoying digs you sling his way.

For a bunch that wanted the man out, almost every post seems to drag him back in again. It's a shame to see you lot being so dismissive and flippant towards a man that gave over two decades to a club you claim to love. Shocking really.

Dave, that's NOT what I said and you well know it. I'm saying you can't calling this a "winning mentality" yet.

And if you've read any of my other posts here, you'll know this isn't about the manager for me. I've yet to see more than 2 players per game give it their all, leave it all out on the pitch.

However, if you want to call this a "winning mentality", by all means, you go right ahead and do that.
