Good morning,
Seems like the season is done for us now. Hopefully the squad finishes on a high with 2 wins.
Onto the summer window. Eds, I have been trying to find a post that shows what players we are interested in but can't seem to find it. I was hoping you'd be able to give us an update as and when time permits. I as well as others would be very appreciative of it I'm sure.
If I don't post again before the season ends thanks to the eds for your info and banter all season and to all the fellow fans here it's been brilliant reading all your comments.
Onwards and upwards, here's to our title win in 2023/ 24!

Eds, with Balogun smashing his loan spell in France, Nketiah doing well filling in for Jesus and the latter being our most first choice number 9 before his injury.
I was wondering if you had any info on what the clubs thoughts were about the striker position for next season?
Are they planning on cashing in on one of them, or having all 3 rotate?

After the Oxford game I've seen a lot of people talking about Lokonga's performance which was obviously a bit flat.
Just wondering if you knew anything about his future at Arsenal? Does he have a future or do you see him leaving on loan or permanently?
We are a bit short of central midfielders and have also seen some rumours linking us to Declan Rice, so my second question is, is there any truth to them? I personally can't see it but hey ho.

Ed002, it's probably pie in the sky and it sounds foolish even writing it.
But I've seen the reports that Barcelona haven't been able to register certain players including one Raphina. With the suggestion that if they aren't able to register him they will have to sell this summer.
With the brief interest we had in him over the summer could you see us holding an interest in what happens over in Spain with the possibility of potentially signing him (transfer or loan) ?

Ed, hope you are well?
I saw Patino talking about how Saliba has gone on loan and then integrated himself in the first team and how he can do the same.
Just wondering if you knew if the club has any kind of plan for Patino? With Jorginho, Partey and Elneny all had rumours of departure in the past 6-12 months there does seem to be room in the midfield for him coming up.
If the club sees it the same way I'd obviously a different matter! Thanks again for your insight.
{Ed014's Note - hi mate, like all loans the players goes to get consistent game time so they can show what they can do, as Saliba did.
The club do think highly of Charlie and I’m sure would like to think he’ll come back next year and become part of the squad.
He’s doing ok at Swansea so he needs to keep it up, have a good pre season and hope Mikel likes what he sees.

Watching PSV take us apart tonight and I can't help but notice a few things;
Lokonga isn't up to it yet. Needs a loan desperately.
We are in need of a winger, if Saka isn't playing we have nobody to replace him, Vieira didn't look right out wide at all.
Going back to Lokonga, if we do let him leave, either short term of for good. I'd love to see us sign Xavi Simons, the kid looks electric! So direct and great feet. Maybe even a double swoop for Gakpo and Xavi!
Lastly it showed tonight how much we miss out first tamers like OZ and Ben White/ Gabriel, De Jong is having a field day with Holding/ Saliba.
However, still top. Shakey couple of performances but onwards and upwards.

Lost and we deserved to lose .
It's not a disaster as we are a work in progress and there will be slip ups on the way. How we react on Sunday against Forest will tell us a lot.
Just put this down to part of the learning curve .

Personally I'd be gutted if we finished 5th but won the Europa league while doing so.
Again personally I'd very gladly take top 3 and early exits from all 3 cups and see it as progress where it matters most.
We simply don't have the strength in depth currently to fight on all fronts and for me the league should be prioritised above all else this season.

Yeah I definitely agree with you all.
Especially you 62, if anything tonight showed us that our fringe players aren't up to the task.
Let's hope it's a small blip but reinforcements definitely needed in Jan if we are to commit to a top 3/ 4 challenge and win something.

Spent a lot of money in the last eighteen months, imo top 4 and a trophy should be in our reach.
Winning the Europa gets you Champions League so it would not be a disaster.

I think part of the issue is that we haven't seen enough rotation early on. Vieira and Eddie need a bit more time on the pitch in our league games if we want them to build up the form to win us games in the EL. I understand the reluctance, don't change a winning team, but it means we look a little tired and teams are just shrugging off our press.

I'm used to that now, Lemtin. His injury record is pretty shocking but having a quality player like Zinchenko means we don't have to worry if KT is out for a bit.
I think Tierney needs to look after himself a bit more, there is something to be said about deciding to not play when you can play through some pain/ niggles. I'd much rather KT play 5 games less a season now but keep him for 3 or 4 more seasons over the course of his career.
