Evening all Ed's and fellow gunners. just a quick thought. this berta guy who's supposed to be a transfer guru. who we have paid a lot of money to come to the club to get business done. well when is he going to start earning his and pull his finger out of his ass. because at the moment he's doing feck all, eight days ago zubimendi was supposed to be flying in for a medical today there's reports the deal might be in doubt. where's gyokeres.? Where's sesko.? All three linked with other clubs. we the ARSENAL are a big club. shouldn't we be pro-active. we know what's needed so why are we not getting things done. other teams. Liverpool being one example. have bundles of attacking options. and are already striking why the iron is hot. and making themselves bigger and stronger for next season. come on Berta get of your ass and start sorting things that need sorting. I agree i would probably only really want salah from Liverpool. but they still had the fitness and fire power to deliver… I will take your advice and chill. ????.

You're picking out Jones from a host of players that would have walked into our team then. Having said that, I do like Szoboszlai and Gravenberch.
{Ed014's Note - my point is you don’t have to be that great to win a title, I could have picked out Curtis Jones from Liverpool.
I’m not a fan of either of those two either, I’d want much better than them to improve us.

Our top 4 - Kai, Trossard, Martinelli and Merino.
Who would Liverpool or City take? May be Martinelli on potential.
Liverpool had 3 on double digits and only Salah worth buying. I’d only buy Trossard for bench and may be Martinelli for potential and that’s a push. ?
LFC had enough to get them easily past the post but also played more attack minded football and a desire to win. Their mentality was better and they kept Salah fit but we just don’t have a Salah. Salah Vs Kai? Seriously - sums it up.
I would like us to get a signing or two done soon also as we are flirting a lot and no doubt low balling and can’t make our mind up. Did Forest already sign a striker?
How many of our top 4 would you really sign as starting 11?

I’m really not getting this obsession with Liverpool players mate.
None of them, like I said, bar Allison and Salah would be anywhere on my radar as helping get us over the line.
I watched them so many times last season and they truly never overly impressed me at all, even saw them live at St Mary’s and they were awful, Southampton out played them most of the game. They just got the win. ?♂️
The two previous seasons we played way better football than they do.

I only mentioned it because you (14) brought up not wanting a single one of their players. At the end of the day, it's a moot point since they aren't selling and we aren't buying.
I would however like to see us seriously strengthen this side. Fingers crossed they make it happen this season.

You're right, they aren't the bees knees. In a season where City were poor, we could and should have done better, but instead, we were equally poor. Let's see how we go next season.

Liverpool have a good squad but many key players are well past 30 and in the areas where we are lacking they don't have convincing players either. So in a sense i'm with Ed and wouldn't want that many of their players (if any) but i do still rate them. Wirtz could be the signing of the season.
My "concern" for Liverpool is can Salah and Van Dijk still produce top quality next season and can Alisson stay fit. If not then even Wirtz may not be able to compensate.
{Ed014's Note - exactly my thoughts mate, don’t really know much about Wirtz to be fair, aside from the fact he stood on Bernardo Silvia’s foot in the game the other night, which always gets brownie points! ?

I used to like Bernardo Silva but he whines a bit too much doesn't he? And on the pitch he's failing to step up to fill the voids left by David Silva and de Bruyne in my opinion.

I don’t have a hard on for Liverpool however - their manager did a better job driving a belief they should play at speed to win, they have a good enough squad to capitalise on City falling off and left us for dead last year despite finishing at a trot. Something there to say their boss did a good job and if you look at their one season that players like Mac Alistair / Gravenberch / Virgil / Salah etc performed well while some of our players didn’t and some performed well in patches and some got injured.
It had to be fair to say their strike force attacked better and with more speed than ours. So we need to look at that and learn.
They got the ball forward far quicker - we need to learn.
Our defence was far better BUT we didn’t attack as much so protected defence better by the way we played. So natural effect. How do we attack more and not expose defence - that’s something Arteta struggles with in my opinion.
They switched off after they won and won 5 more games than us. That’s a clear message that our “we don’t want to lose “ mentality isn’t a winners mentality and gets us draws.
Respect to Liverpool and a wake up call to us if we want to win the league as if only but Salah and Sake out of the attackers and I’d sell a good few of ours.
Not a hated just being honest.

Where we got the draw - somewhere some how that’s the difference.
Coach, mentality, tactics, squad, luck, …. They did it and not only did they get the T Shirt, they won the trophy despite Klopp leaving. We shouldn’t fear change but encourage and embrace it.
Squad, Tactics, Coach, Captain, mentality - embrace it because it’s not good enough as we stand. We come second to whoever has the desire “ They just got the win. ”.
