Great first half - MA has really got them all working hard especially PEA. Lots of energy, counter attack, Old Ozil is back and I really enjoyed watching that half. Torriera playing well in front of the back 4 and everyone playing their part. Shame about Chambers - fingers crossed for second half

So so disappointing
A loss to Man U and we are looking over our shoulders BIG TIME.
{Ed047's Note - I’m taking the positives in we looked and played like a team, 2 weeks with a new coach has made us look so much better.
Just got done by a stupid error and yes I know that’s happened to often but normally with an abject pathetic performance.

Such a shame, we should have killed the game in the first half as we had a great chance to do so.
One mistake and they are back in it, so frustrating we had encouraging first half.
Ozil shouldn't be subbed and pepe should be in instead of lacca imo.
Really tough to take today.

Shame - we never really adapted to CFC changes
Plenty of reasons to be happy and annoyed - ref decisions on yellows.
Boys put a good shift in - well played in the first half and let’s use that as a blue print for future.
Feel sorry for Leno but I still have my concerns on his decision making and crossing. Shot stopping is excellent.
Luiz bar a minute of sheer madness which could have been a straight 🟥 he had a half decent game with a few key blocks.
Lost our shape in second half with two CDM getting exposed - we need a leader in the middle of the park like a Terry or an Adams to pull the two CDMs back into place and be MA’s second voice. We don’t have that today. Chambers coming off didn’t help and Pepe coming on didn’t help.

Oh totally agree but looking at the 2nd half stats we were dominated totally, I’d have liked us to have competed more in the 2nd half
But in saying that as you said MA has had an impact that’s clear to see.

Stupid mistake but Jorginho shouldn’t have been on the pitch to score the equaliser. Its a clear pull back to stop a player advancing. But a lot of positives to take from the game, and its a massive step forward.

We have to stop this awful diving, moaning and rolling around attitude - Matteo is embarrassing and MA needs to sort him and a few others out. Be men on the pitch and show how strong you are by standing up, dust down tackles and get on with it. You act like Pussies and wonder why we get bullied. Torriera, Laca, Matteo need to have a good look on the mirror and ask is that how a professional behaves. If Torriera hadnt hit the deck he would have put CFC under pressure for their first goal after goalie howler. Laca got booked for being a baby and still annoyed when gave the fouls away for the goal and could have gotten another yellow for that. Luiz - stupid red tackle challenge.
You had a great first half and showed plenty green shoots but cut the crap out please.

If Matteo wasn’t screaming like a 5 year old and Laca acting like a kid showing the shirt pull - May be he would have gotten another yellow or may be Matteo could have stayed on his feet and manned up - kept going forward rather than always taking the weak option of rolling round like a pussie. Our problem - too many pussies.

Fredie and Emery talked of good 20 minute spells to camouflage 70 minutes of awfulness today we saw the complete opposite with 70 minutes of real improvement undone by 20 minutes of chaos.
That's huge improvement in my book and we much more to be happy about than dispirited about.
Yes we need 16 points to be safe but other than that good performances are worth more than window dressing points for long term revival.
{Ed025's Note - i know what your saying G62 but winning...and losing can become a habit, no panic yet of course but MA has to instil a winning mentality into this side or they will get bullied like they have done too much this season mate..

Your 100% right Ed025 mate ultimately winning is what the game is all about and I think with another 7 or 8 training sessions under Mikel we might see a much more healthy mentality and performance level with which the results will more often than not come.
Other than a possible relegation battle this league season is over for us and it's all about building real character team spirit and whole new club mentality that finally puts the soft years behind us.
{Ed025's Note - i think this season will all be about consolidation now for mikel and the boys G62, next season should be about strengthening the squad and adding a bit of steel because at times you have been a soft touch, keeping hold of PEA must be top of his list though because without him you look toothless mate..

We were out played for 45 minutes the 2nd half stats show that 62, certainly not the 70/ 20 split your talking about, in fact Chelsea got better when they made their 30 minute substitution- big signs of improvement all the same Wednesday night is a biggie.
{Ed047's Note - no argument with that Banbury I’m personally just happy we looked like a team, defended really well as a unit to be undone by an unnecessary error.
All in all 2 weeks with Arteta has looked better than anything I’ve seen for at least the last 2 years.
Getting a quality replacement for Xhaka will be a big help.

Agreed Ed047 - will be interesting to see how we look come Feb as I’m very pleased with what he’s done in a short period of time. The team put 💯 into the game, nice attacking play and super shape until second half. A few key changes will make all the difference. Excited by the first half - PEA was running all over the place. Need that defensive leader to help keep our shape. There’s light at the end of the tunnel.
{Ed047's Note - definitely mate, even Mustafi was staying on his feet in challenges.
Hard to be critical when they’re clearly taking on board what Arteta wants and but for the error I was confident we’d have seen that out.

Your right Banbury we did get bossed second half but I still think we looked much much more competitive even when not dominant than we have for very long time.
In our only recent win v West ham we were absolutely dreadful for an hour before West ham totally fell apart bar individual errors i don't think we were awful at any point although like you say70/ 20 wasn't accurate assessment by me.

We looked a completely different team first half, can’t account for individual errors Leno one of our best players this season. although I think If guendozi and lacazette never made such a fuss Jorginho wouldn’t of been on the pitch. second goal was same old chasing the game and got caught out. thought Aubameyang showed a leaders performance the shift he put in.
