Our form is truly worrying with 1 win out of the last 16 matches. Yesterday's performance was very average against injury-hit Bournemouth. The next couple of matches will be very telling. Hopefully we will have Bellerin, Ceballos and Holding back soon.
We have to make at least a couple of signings in the January window and see if we can sign a left back on loan, with Tierney our long term and Kolasinac also injured.

{Ed047's Note - lets be honest, our form has been poor from the last months of Wenger’s reign.

True Ed, with the exception of the start of Emery’s first season at the club, when we went on a long unbeaten, after losing the first two matches.
We desperately need a decent pair of CB’s, DM’s, a creative midfield player and a RB that can tackle. We have a shortage of quality experienced players. The youngsters are promising, but it’s rare to find players under 21 playing regularly for top PL clubs.

We created a lot of chances I think it was an improvement but arteta has not had long with them give it time.

To be fair - the unbeaten run was far from good form. Let’s be honest if we’re being honest. Emery never got us playing as a team, never sorted the defence, ruined Ozil and the attack. He made us biting to watch. Please just be honest and drop this stupid unbeaten run we played so well myth. I saw more from Freddie than Emery and Mikel seems to be moving us forward - far more passion, movement and drive. we need to be honest if we are to improve. We (I) wasn’t honest enough in Wengers last few years and that’s not healthy for our club. The board needs to be like that also.

Beyond staying up nothing else is pressing for this season.
Yes we all want to see us playing well and winning again asap but none of us want another false quick fix that sees us back here again after the novelty of a new manager has worn off.
Spending lots of money and bringing in lots of new players to replace the new players were fed up with won't bring change it will simply prolong our misery we have to start at the bottom where our problems really lay and work our way up.
Our mentality has been questioned and ridiculed for years under Arsene huge defeats at old Trafford Liverpool City Chelsea on a very regular basis earned us our soft Arsenal reputation plus 8 consecutive champions league last 16 exits plus how many 4th place trophies on the trot did we actually celebrate like title wins?
Standards expectations and ambitions have been in decline for well over a decade and we can't just say " ok we are going to be different now " and all will be ok again, it's going to take time to change the whole attitude of the club and absolutely everyone within the club from 4th place trophy contentment to premier hunger passion and desire again
Every youth player every coach from under 8 right through to Arteta himself needs to be talking about 4th place being failure and only 1st place being acceptable again.
Change the whole ethos of the club and then bring in new players who will join a hungry club and where only premier league titles and champions league trophies are acceptable.

Yes, finishing as high possible, taking into account the massive job Arteta has been handed. The same went for Emery, having been left a hide mess by Gazidis and Wenger. It is little surprise how poorly AC Milan are doing under Gazidis and that Wenger hasn’t been offered an acceptable management job, as he was clearly well past his sell by date.

Second place is first in the long line of losers. It’s the winning that counts, winning well and respecting others. Then we can worry about winning in style. Set the tone and have it as part of our culture and values.

My issue is the board as I don’t think winning the league is as important as Champions League Footbsll especially the investment required to compete for top spot Vs top 4. The board set the tone and they were happy with Wenger coming 4th. if they said we must be 1st or 2nd every year then that would have put good pressure on Wenger or any manager.
