Tomorrow, the final week of Wenger's long reign at the club begins. Many fans know no other manager or even those of us old enough, have to look back 22 years to the Rioch and Graham era's.
I spoke to a professional footballer friend yesterday and he feels Arsenal need an experienced top manager, the fans must be patient and not expect instant success.
In this respect the following managers would be suitable:
1. Ancelotti
2. Allegri
3. Benitez
4. Enrique
5. Jardim

The two that stand out for me are Benitez and Ancelotti, as they are managers who have won trophies, managed in the PL and will have the repect of the players and the fans.

My own feeling is that Benitez could be a good selection, but there has been little linking us with him. He would sort out the defensive side of the team and has done a miraculous job at Newcastle under the ownership of Mike Ashley.

I truly hope we have a manager lined up, as time is limited between the end of the season and players going off for World Cup duty. Meaning concluding deals will be problematic. I would imagine the new manager will look to bring in at least 4 or 5 players, which won't be easy.

It's an exciting time, watching a new post-Wenger era evolve, with a new manager comes a different age approach.

I'm struggling to find a German connection to some of your manager chioces here RG:-)

Look again g62!

Ancelotti managed Bayern and the rest have been to Germany at least once 😂.

True Sanago Enrique claims he didn't actually visit Germany so much as Germany visited him :-)

Sorry that was meant to be once between them.

But Sano was that a real trip to Germany or when when the authorities checked they hadn't ventured from the Camden area 😉 COYG ( only joshing RG61 )

Of that list you gave RG, allegri is the best choice in my opinion.

ancelotti- very laid back. rarely does well in leagues is okay in cup competitions. His training methods might be archaic as bayern players openly came out and complained about how he trains them. Don't think arsenal need a laid back manager.

enrique- bombed in roma. Has a man management issue also and is hostile to the press. don't think he would suit arsenal at all. tactically he is not that great either.

benitez-benitez is a decent shout but let's remember he hasn't done well in big clubs recently. Sacked at inter milan and real.

jardim-did exceptionally well last season but his team has been losing with some big margins this couldn't get out of a group that contains porto, leipzig and besiktas. Question marks over him still.

How was your Madrid trip RG? Bet you had a great time bar the result. Visit any fun places while you were there? And what's The Ritz like?

I change my mind by the hour! Now it's Allegri.
Sharpey - Madrid was lovely, apart from the result. I would thoroughly recommend the Ritz in Madrid. My Krug Champagne was chilled to perfection.
G62 - The German connections go on and on. Team of Arsenal players who are German or played for a German club:

Lehmann
Voltz Mustafi Mertesacker Kolasinac
Gnabry Xhaka Coquelin Ozil
Aubameyang Podolski.

RG there is a place in Norfolk called ST Germans if you fancy buying yourself a weekend get away or maybe the entire village should you so inclined :-)

I knew you were on a hiding to nothing g62. RG is definitely not going to fess up 😂.
