You can really see the disappointment on the boys faces. They deserve all the respect for this amazing season.

What is disappointing is seeing teams and fans are willing to lose and see city break another record. Such a shame

As for us. I say will done boys really proud of the team.
Upward and onwards COYG.

"There is so much that we want to achieve, both at home and in Europe, and we are focused on writing some exciting new stories and chapters that build on the history of Arsenal Football Club.

There have been so many stories and milestones across the season, shaped by so many of our players. We have all enjoyed seeing our summer signings flourish into being Arsenal players and we're delighted that a number of players have committed to new contracts to keep this squad together, fighting on all fronts. We want to continue to forge that winning mentality that runs
so deeply throughout the club. "

Awesome - that's the spirit we need at the top

Now go replace Granit that you've not fone, decent left back, a keeper and a proper striker that we've needed for years but never quite got. They are the fine margins.

Great season and very proud that still competing on the last day. That's all I want. Well done Club, players and Arteta. Edu - let's step it up son as you can do better.

Rice and Saliba have been amazing this season.

4 points from City and Pool in the same season - wow.

A few stupid results especially the ones against Fulham but ultimately Villa and West Ham. However we won games that off set those and against a club with 115 charges.

A great season regardless - well done and let's see it out and add to the team to take it further next season in Europe and EPL. We need trophies!

COYG - let's go for one more push and a magnificent end to the season as the fantastic fans deserve it ❤️🤍❤️🤍.

{Ed014's Note - I’m certain that Rice is the player to replace Xhaka and but for Parteys injury we would have seen him play further forward sooner.

It’s now Partey we need to look at replacing in the long term. Hence the links to Guimaraes and Zubimendi

If we get a striker what role does Havertz play?

 0

19 May 2024 11:23:55
True - Rice needs a partner. That’s what I really meant

I’m not too fussed where or if Kai plays. He’s had a good season - more goals, work rate and better first touch than expected but at the top end of European football against the best -> we need better than Jesus and Kai. Kai will be a valuable player like Trossard but ultimately “I” feel Kai just isn’t quite good enough for a top top team as their striker or as a midfielder. Happy for him to stay but still wish we had sunk that money somewhere else like a Watkins type player. That’s just me.

The goalie scares the 💩 out of me at corners and when under pressure with ball at his feet.

Sorry SY your reply wasn’t put back for me.

I don’t see another keeper arriving, not after he’s just won the golden glove too.

I’m certain we’ll get a striker, truly would be madness not to and Alphonso Davies is running his contract down, he would be a great signing if we could pull that one off at left back.

We don’t really know the plan for Timber yet either.

 0

19 May 2024 12:41:08
I think Timber will play the majority of his games at lb so i don't think a new signing is needed there.

For me Rice is a 6 so we need a left 8 to essentially replace Xhaka as you say SY. But i'd like that player to be able to cover for Rice as well when needed.

If Nketiah and Nelson leave we will need a forward. Primarily a striker for me. I like Havertz there and he has the quality to play against anyone when the gameplan calls for him. The issue is that he's not going to be effective against every team so a different option is needed as well. Wouldn't mind Watkins.

To be honest before signing Raya on a permanent i would like to see if other options are available as well. Raya has been an upgrade over Ramsdale but not 100 % convincing. I expect him to stay though and hopefully he will keep improving.

Lastly, do we have a convincing solution to any potential Saliba absence? I believe Kiwior can replace Gabriel when needed.

Hello Ed abd Sy
That Davies you mentioned is he the one that scored for Bayern against Real in semi final.

 0

{Ed014's Note - yes that’s him Bill

 0

19 May 2024 13:00:15
Not sure we need a leftback. Obviously Timber slots in there, surely. Tommy and Kiwior are very good backups. There's also Zinny, if he's not sold.

We need a Partey replacement. Jorginho backup. Wouldn't even mind him as starting 11 and signing a good understudy.

Defo need a striker.

I feel we're strong in all other areas. Signing a striker does however leave us without a place for Havey. Oh well 🤣🤣.

Thanks for the reply Ed. It is great to be still competing at the business end of the season. Still feel there’s a mental difference between us and City but that gap is closing which is exactly what we needed to do. Can’t ask too much more - the gap is tiny which is impressive 👏👏👊.

Sharpie mate
Gotta to believe.

That would be amazing Sharpie but i'm not convinced west ham will win.

It’s been a fantastic season and I’m proud to be a gunner, it’s been a hard 10 or so years but looks like we are finally back, just wish the players turned up for the Villa game and got a result, Sunday would be a different story for us, but hopefully West Ham pull off a miracle, and we lift that trophy again.

Not sure if it has been on the City rumours page for a while but the charge list looks pretty daunting!

 0

15 May 2024 18:19:19
Hello Sally
The charges are incredible.
What strikes me is the most recent of all them charges is 2018,thats 6 years ago so why has it taken them so long considering Evertons and Forest charges are pretty recent.

 0

15 May 2024 18:38:44
Sorry i stand corrected, the last charge is dated 2023,failure to comply with PL regulations.

I saw this summary by the Swedish Rumble, I have no idea how accurate it is:

"There is one reason and one reason only why this case is not settled yet. When the PL launched the procedure for the 115 charges, City made sure that it got stuck in the courts for almost 3 years challenging every technical aspect it could to delay it.

A summary:
November-December 2018: The Premier League write to City requesting certain information and documents in relation to potential breaches of their rules — known as the information claim. City object to the request — after what has been published by Der Spiegel/ the Football Leaks.
21 August 2019: The PL issue a complaint against City, since it has still not received the documents and information it has the right to receive under the Premier League Rules and which City refuse to give the PL access to. City responds by challenging the PL's disciplinary system, challenging a technicality (only highly regarded barristers could be elected for the commission) .
22 October 2019: With the documents and information not forthcoming, the PL begin arbitration against the club seeking a declaration that they are contractually obliged to provide them. The club try to stop the arbitration by arguing to the tribunal involved that the PL had no power to start it. They also claim that the tribunal does not appear impartial.
26 June 2020: City issue an application in the Commercial Court repeating their argument that the tribunal lacks jurisdiction on the information claim and is tainted with “bias”.
2 November 2020: City’s claim that it has no obligation to to pass on the requested information and documents to the PL — is rejected. It’s clearly stated in the rules that they must do so. The order to provide them is however postponed pending the outcome of the Commercial Court case.
17 March 2021: In the Commercial Court, Mrs Justice Moulder more or less summarily dismisses the club's challenge to the jurisdiction and impartiality of the tribunal, dismantling the City’s lawyers arguments clearly hinting that it was felt that it had abused the public court system. She refuses permission to appeal her judgment.
24 March 2021: Mrs Justice Moulder said her judgment should be published, in order to reveal the lengths to which City had attempted to resist passing on information to the PL. City successfully seeked permission to appeal the decision to make the information public in the Court of Appeal. So we get another delay (I think you are starting to get the drift by now, it’s an appeal of an appeal of an appeal about a pure nonsense technicality. On a side
30 June 2021: The Court of Appeal opens its hearing into the club's appeal against publication. The Court of Appeal handed down its decision dismissing the appeal.

So it took the PL almost three years to just have it sorted out that it has the right to receive the information the Premier League Rules clearly states that City must submit to the PL. After this, we know that City made another challenge of the impartiality of an experienced barrister in no way connected to the Premier League, in KC Murray Rosen. How much delay this caused is unknown.

During this time, City was also sentenced by UEFA for failing to produce requested information and delaying procedures. "
