Evening all Ed's and fellow gunners, hope alls well. gutted the ARSENAL dropped 2 massive points today. but I just wanted to say there are so many more things important than football. myself and my family are visiting family members in Portsmouth this weekend, as we do on many occasions myself and my youngest son like to pop in to Fratton park and watch Portsmouth if they are at home. (decent ticket prices) . and today they were taking on Middlesbrough. the atmosphere is always great and win lose or draw they back thier team to the hilt from start to finish (great set of fans) . well today literally as the game was kicking off there was a 35 minute delay due to a critical emergency in the north stand. sheets were held up around the fan concerned paramedics rushed in to help and the poor fella was taken away by helicopter outside the ground. the game commenced and Portsmouth after going 1-0 down, came back to win 2-1. got back to my relatives to sit down and watch the arsenal which had already started when my son said oh my god dad, the fan at the Portsmouth game died. tragic news. and as I watched Arsenal take a 2 goal lead I was obviously well pleased then villa pulled it back to 2-2 and usually I'd have the right hump but I didn't. I just thought about the poor bloke who turned up to watch his beloved Portsmouth probably full of pride and excited about how todays game was going to go, and hasn't made it home today, and his family left behind are just left with devastating news to deal with. R. I. P to the Pompey fan. our colours mean so much to us, but real life and death is so much bigger than that. hats off to all the Portsmouth and Middlesbrough fans who behaviour during the 35 minute delay was absolutely impeccable.

Morning Sal, hope alls well, football is massive to all of us who follow the club we love. the ARSENAL is my team. but I’m a football nut and take in other matches from other leagues I love experiencing different football tribes chants/ banter. and taking in some football, away from all the glitz and glamour of the premier league, meeting some real characters along the way. and as much as I enjoy my football, I enjoy my family, friends and life in general so much more. which helps me keep things in check. I love it when the ARSENAL win, feel flat when we draw and get the hump when we lose. but whatever the result. I get over them feelings real quick. because there’s always the next match to look forward to. the sometimes beautiful game the sometimes nightmare game. But always just a game. always treasure the more important things in life family, friends, health, happiness then football. peace and love to you Sal.

Hi Gabi, so sorry to hear about the very sad passing of the Portsmouth fan yesterday mate, must have been and still be absolutely devastating for everyone involved
Life is short mate and tomorrow is promised to none of us which in my opinion is all the more reason to either part company with the things that make our lives less enjoyable than they could be or change the our relationship with and how we look at the things that currently make life difficult for us, be those things the area town or country we live in, the jobs we do or the people we work for or the things we spend our free time doing and thinking about.
As someone once said to me " we are here for a good time not a long time mate " and he wasn't wrong because no one will thank us, celebrate us, or erect a statue of us in honour of all the hours we dedicated to pointing out how bad everything was and how dissatisfied we were with everything during our short time on this beautiful blue planet
We have very little say on how long we get to have this wonderful experience called life for but we have far more say than we sometimes care to admit to ourselves how much we enjoy the very little time we have it.

Hi g62.yes my friend we are all just small pieces in life’s tapestry and should always treat each new day with the most open of eyes always willing to try to be the best version of ourselves possible. my old dad (very wise fella) . always instilled in myself and my siblings to always treat people in the ways you wish to be treated and you won’t go far wrong in life, and my mums favourite saying was always…yesterdays history, tomorrows a mystery, live life in the day. and they have always been advice so very close to my heart, just like my mum and dad are…#family, friends, health&happiness.

Hi Gabi mate, you certainly had a very good start in life in being born to such wise and compassionate parents.
I think its very normal for most people not to fully accept and fully appreciate what was and wasn't really important to them until they are in the final days or even hours on Earth. I very much doubt and most certainly hope I won't spend my last hours thinking about how right I was to be so upset and angry for so long with Arsene and Per Merterducker for so long ? in fact I already genuinely regret all those wasted hours over all those years, in the words of Del boy "what a plonker" I truly was.
Hopefully I've wised up and finally learned to let go quickly of the things that don't support my peace of mind and happiness while I still a good few years left ahead of me yet but whatever happens I'm very grateful to have a much greater appreciation for what is and isn't really important in life than I had a few years ago and how very fortunate I am to have and to have been so many wonderful people in my life to share this amazing experience with.

Evening 62,
Time is the most important thing as it one thin* you don’t get back. However life is about choices, experiences, sacrifice, achievement and regret.
I prefer the words of WaynevGretzky “You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. ”
I think it’s nonsense you not moaning - where would women’s rights be without someone making a stand, and there are plenty of areas thst the world is better because someone said this isn’t right. Environment, Gay rights, Post office scsndal, Unions ( you are a labour supporter so come on fella) .
If you are passionate about something you voice sn opinion. How many hours do you waste on line or watching rubbish TV. Mentally I’m sure you can be better having a release. It all sounds a bit preachy telling us to stop moaning - is Wenger still here? Is Unai still here…. Voices and opinions should be heard.
How many people think I wish I hadn’t tried in those final hours Vs I wish I had purchased thst player to win the league…. I for one feel if I’m not happy I will voice an opinion and if I am I will voice my appreciation. That’s how sh t gets done better at home, work or play. Sitting there accepting meritocracy and not pushing through that ceiling is a crime and whsts sometimes wrong in the world today.
Me continually moaning probably gets me nowhere except I’ve voiced my opinion and hope someone somewhere uses that to drive change. I hope Arteta really regrets bottling it and plays it over and over again so he doesn’t makes the same mistakes for the rest of his managerial career. He blew our best and 2nd best chance of winning the league in the last 20 years. There could have been a statue of him. Except he wasn’t brave - didn’t buy in that window ( still hasn’t ) , didn’t play attack minded football ( still there ) and got out smarted. I think it’s wrong to not moan to give him a chance to improve before he gets sacked out of the blue…
Us sat here saying it’s rosy is a load of crap. High ticket prices, big club, high shirt prices, sky expensive, use wage bill, useless 30m player on loan, huge amount invested - why can’t we moan. We are part of the eco-system and have needs as fans. They aren’t delivering and trophy-teased us in prior years.
Just a grumpy old man’s thoughts and know that will annoy a few on here. Sorry .
I’m glad you are happy bud but if you want more - you have to do something about it….

Sorry - also. You get to be challenged and learn.
On the chat the other day SW challenged me as I said we had no leaders. What I call a leader - perhaps not but in today’s soft football world you could say Gabs and Rice are leaders.
Ed 14 and you have challenged me and despite the posting above, I’ve taken it on as we can’t keep going over and over the same rubbish.
This site is perfect for that - I was wrong on Wenger. I see that. You’ve evolved because of that. I will also. ❤️.
