Lets not be so reactive to last nights performance. We were all singing the praises after a cup win and a good start to the season, there's a heck of a long way to go until this season is over. This team is still a work in progress, with new recruits needed, but this all takes time. Its taken Klopp a number of years to get Pool playing like last night. MA deserves the time.

I agree Pepe was shocking, but I believe he is the type of player that needs consistent games to hit his stride. This is on him to gain that position mind, but coming on for the odd 20 mins is doing nothing but harming him. He had a stinker. Defence was the worst I have seen for a while, Tierney looked off (too early to return? ) , but i'm very excited for Gabriel and Saliba. They both need nurturing and i'm sure MA knows what he is doing in taking time.

For me, midfield was the biggest concern last night. Ceballos needed to start, I really don't rate Elneny/ Xhaka partnership, but i'm very excited for the possibility of Aouaor and or Partey. I believe MA knows how to change this midfield to begin threatening the top 4.

We are not there yet, we are nowhere near threatening Liverpool for the league, but we are on the right track. let's call last night for what it was, a spanking by one of the best teams in the world. That is nothing to be ashamed of.

{Ed047's Note - can’t argue with that lefty, didn’t like the team selection last night but it’s that game out of the way.

Absolutely agree Lefty, total over reaction to a rookie getting beaten by the champion. The same performance and result v Sheffield United and we will really will have reasons to worry.

There were positives from last night compared to our recent league embarrassments at Anfield which stem back to when Bredon was Liverpool manger.

Liverpool are Premier League and European Champions after all. I'm more concerned that Aouar is "resigned" to joining Arsenal, according to a report I just read.
