Any news on players action over the 55 people who've lost their jobs?
Or was that just a feel good story that would have been nice if it were true?
{Ed047's Note - were they even up in arms about it or again was that just the media.
Were there direct quotes from any players that I’ve missed?

Not that I know of Ed047 mate, I was surprised to read they were getting involved in the first place but apparently it was Ormstien breaking the news so I thought maybe despite the fact it Just didn't ring true.
{Ed047's Note - I hadn’t seen any directly from the players so who in reality knows mate.
I’d like to think if they took the pay cut to stop this exact thing happening then they would be pretty upset because that will have been a fair few million the club are getting back.
Guess time will truly tell.

The only reliable source I read it from was from David Ornstein who is usually fairly accurate in his reports. Some people like to say he's been off the ball since joining the athletic but his contacts are the same and what I hear on his podcasts is usually spot on.

Oh yeah definitely mate. I just don't want to too much negativity around the squad when we're like what, 5 weeks away from the new season? We need to be strong and prepared for a good start.

Time always tells Ed047 mate and i try to separate the wheat from the chaff by either who reporting the story and what their track record on accuracy plus logic and thinking why would this be true?
Higguian having his medical cured me of believing what I hoped was true without good reason :-)

I reckon the club announced the redundancies when the players were off on their holidays. By the time they return it will be old news.

Higguian episode stood me in good stead for the Benzemma and Mbappe stories that followed that's for sure mate :-)
