We really do need to become defensively adequate before we can ever hope to be taken seriously again Glen mate, we can skirt around it look at the other positives everywhere else but until we put in he hours needed on the training field to make ourselves difficult to beat again nothing much will change.
Spurs managed only 3 attempts on city's goal on Saturday and for all cities brilliance going forward they like all great teams give very little away at the back.
I know it's boring but until we accept the importance of not conceding as much as we accept the importance of scoring goals again we will always struggle over a season to be a force.

I appreciate that Gunner mate but I wasn't talking about the squad, more about the vision and the comments Josh made about the club and it's ambitions. Remember, we have now signed Tierney, Luiz and Saliba to somewhat improve our defence and make us more defensively adequate so let's see how it plays out. He stated that he wants us to win the title within 5 years so those 3 signings alone are a good starting point in fixing our issues. I'll say i'm optimistic but I certainly won't be overlooking the obvious issues that need addressing mate as far as perfomances are concerned.

Everything he said about the Europa final was spot on Glen and his vision for the next 5 years can't be argued against or his own personal commitment to helping it happen by making funds available but where my heart sank was his comments on Emery.
Yes Luis and Tierney should help but it's time effort and commitment to keeping goals out on the training field we need every bit as much as new players.
The very best like Klopp Gardiola Ranoldo and Messi know and appropriate that being the best isn't all about working on your strengths but about spending as much time if not more time working on your weaknesses until you have very very few if any weaknesses left.
A players weak foot doesn't become as strong as his best foot by ignoring it, only by working on it constantly can you become excellent with both feet and make yourself twice as difficult to handle.

The support of Kroenke this summer has been excellent and he has clearly reassured the fans.
The summer transfer business was quality and the club are also trying their best to intergrate young talented players into the fist team, whilst moving out players that are surplus to requirements.
However, we must not get carried away by the first two wins against two of the weaker PL clubs. The next two games will be interesting.

That he was doing an excellent and was the right man for the job Stephen, I understand he was going to slate him but I would have preferred him to say something along the lines of " myself the board and transfer team have done everything we can to help the manager and team off the field now it's up to them to match our efforts on the field "
A bit of expectancy and accountability might bring about a bit of urgency from Emery to sort out what's still so obviously our biggest weakness, because other teams will take their chances if we keep giving them away with a match program.
