Does anyone else have this same bleak/ pessimistic view of Arsenal going forward as I do? 😔 Ed said it best himself, West Ham is a better project to sell than Arsenal is nowadays. Sad times to be a Gooner!

It does seem that almost everything at the club is a mess right now mate, I'm sure we will come through the other side at some point but for now it's difficult to remember the club ever being at such a low point as this before, we've had poor players poor teams poor managers in the past but the club always seemed well run off the field before.

Guys, I agree. The club is in a bit of a mess but if we look deep enough. Wenger left us with a few gems to give us something to smile about and hope
Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Rob Holding, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Eddie Nketiah, Joe Willock, Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Reiss Nelson, Xavier Amaechi,
Tyreece John-Jules, Tolaji Bola, Zech Medley, Krystian Bielik and Jeff Reine-Adelaide.

Fair bit of talent who hopefully wear the shirt with pride.

The only problem with that SY is we've seen so many potentially good young Arsenal players fail to blossom into first team players and even fewer into genuine stars of the game.
It's not being negative Just being honest about our record on developing genuine premier league talent from our youth system, Cesc is the last genuine top class player i can remember and he's on the verge of retirement now days.

I’m just trying to be a super Mr Brightside especially after a killer Glastonbury performance from the band. I’m taking a leaf out of Steve’s book and trying to find the brighter things at AFC. This is the only things nag I can talk about as well as a few rather special first team players who need to be played in position and have the right surroundings to flourish. That along with a “ clean sheet can’t be beat “ mentality will go a long way.

Let’s get back to basics - that’s what my message to the team would be. Follow your runner, keep the ball moving, make the winger go outside not inside, don’t go forward if your defensive partner has, keep possession, triangles. basic stuff.

Yeah sorry mate, . I am just being boringly realistic.
I'd be happy to promote from within as much as possible even if it meant finishing mid table for a few years while we got ourselves sorted out as entire club as long as we were laying genuine foundations that we could then rebuild on in the future.
A young promising Arsenal side would get more leeway if they struggled than the current squad could ever justify asking for.

Never a sad time to be a gooner.

That’s what I had hoped for last season and hence the disappointment of signing a 60 year old right back.

No need to say sorry - off for a nice Chablis. Very nice in this heat.

I'm hopeful that this period of low budgets is due to the high wages and high amount of deadwood that needs clearing, once that's done, I can imagine we will be able to compete a bit more in the market, if you look back on the past few years, we've spent a fair amount on players and Kroenke hasn't put a penny in the club himself, so we have the ability to pay the transfers and the wages (we are paying high wages now, so it shows we can do it in the future)

On the negative, like the Eds have said in the past, the structure of the club is a mess and that will probably hinder us going forward.

Personally, I don't think we will complete for the Premier league for a very very long time, I can see us being a Champions League club again in the next few seasons, but that's as far as it goes in my opinion. (I hope I'm wrong)

It's the mess we seem to be in behind the scenes that compounds the mess we are in on the pitch along with the crazy contracts we've given players and put ourselves in a financial straight jacket that really makes things look so gloomy for us.
We definitely need someone with a huge presence to cone in be it manager director of football or whatever to come in pick the club up by the scruff of the neck knock everyone and everything into shape, preferably someone who understands the game on and off the pitch who would Challenge Emery on our defence and the club on our finances equally.

What has happened to Steve don't he come on here any more.

Ironically I think Steve got fed up with the moaning, especially about the manager:-)
If your still reading Steve hope your ok mate.
