Just reading the FA statement on the City debacle and it intimates that the books were fiddled by 900million!
I have no words. (well apart from those written above lol)

Hello Sally, my son in law sent it to me earlier and it's unf -gbelievable.
The arrogance is of the scale.
Hope everything and everyone is good for you Sally.

Yet we will wait another 8 years for justice.

Will ex captains of clubs be formerly presented with the trophies city are stripped of, and will ex managers and players be invited to ride on open topped buses in retrospective victory parades.
Lots to ponder on ????.
29 Sep 2026 21:13:17
Sorry that should been formally presented with not formerly presented with, although ?.

I liked what Rooney said and that's how it should be, giving the title to team who finished second doesn't feel right. I think trophies should be taken from the club but put a void in the winner's name for that season, players can keep their medals as they worked their socks off on the field and assumption is that they didn't know what was happening above them.
Reading through various articles today, relegation is not off the table, will get very interesting by Christmas!

That all sounds very sensible to me Highbury mate.
I believe the offences span over a 10 year period so perhaps the punishment should span the same period. Maybe a 20 point deduction at the start of each season for the next 10 years regardless of whatever league city may find themselves in during each of those 10 seasons.
The reality no one can go back and stop the past from taking place so any retrospective punishment is purely symbolic or vengeful, and only punishment that affects the future would serve any meaningful purpose.

Question - if an Olympic gold medal winner fails a drug test. What happens??
Medal removed
Silver gets Gold medal
Why is football different? Seriously - those teams were cheated a medal and their moment. Footballers live for medals - why cheat them if their moment & medal
Relegate City and strip them of their history they don't deserve - it's not the players fault BUT players were there who shouldn't have been there & did some get paid by "other" companies?
Why should football be different to athletics.
30 Sep 2026 00:11:02
Relegate then - future sorted
Strip titles - make the teams that missed out whole
It's not vengeful it's levelling the field and giving those who were cheated their medal
62 - surely you see that?

You also have 2018 to currrnt day as I'm sure more years will be the same .

More than a relegation, I want imprisonment for fraud.

SY mate, I think there's a difference between olympics and this case. At Olympics, the he individuals enhance their performance and gain advantage over other athletes, here the players aren't guilty of anything. Yes, the club cheated and enhanced their chances of winning by buying players they shouldn't have been able to so the club should be punished.
In all this, I am baffled as to how it went unnoticed over so many years when we have all sorts of internal and external auditors and governing bodies.
30 Sep 2026 11:29:22
But without the money, some wouldn't be there & the team would have been weaker. Why not look at the players who did nothing wrong & wrongly came 2nd. What if in the 4 by 4 one person tests positive?? They all return the medals. The club won while on financial steroids. Why aren't we more fussed about law abiding clubs.
30 Sep 2026 14:02:57
It's very murky and depends on individual perspective and that's what will also play in what punishment is given out. We can only wait and watch.
30 Sep 2026 18:29:56
The prime minister seems to think it would be a shame if city's owners were to sell up. Imagine being rich enough that money laundering and fraud won't even get you a slap on the wrist.
30 Sep 2026 19:46:30
Its not at all uncommon for very rich and very powerful people and organisations to think of themselves as being untouchable SW.
Celebrities, business people, politicians, political parties, football clubs, football players and members of the Royal family have all made headlines in very recent years for their atrocious behaviour which they didn't believe would ever be exposed. If we going to expose and bring to justice all people guilty of abuse of power and privilege, then tto borrow from the Jaws movie
" we're going to need bigger prisons, and lots of them ".

It's Labour for you.
