Oleary I have to disagree, I certainly wouldn't say PSG are a very good side, let's not dress this up, Villa scored 4 against them over 2 legs we could have scored 4 or 5 .
Last chance saloon for Mikel Artichoke, and yes I FULLY blame him for not getting us a striker. He has influence in the club, we did our normal faffing about and arrogance in the transfer market with Watkins.
Mikel buy big in the summer and we have a chance if you don't you are gone mate.
Let's be fair we haven't been top of the league this season, we have only been second because City have been dire, they have found form they will most likely leap frog us.
As has been said the damage in the semi was done at home, and over both legs we weren't clinical enough.

We need some serious investment across the squad, Partey just isn't good enough, Jesus, Havertz, Zinchenko, Jorginho also need replacing.
Another year of saying maybe next year it is then.

We certainly do, 4 semi finals under MA and no wins the pressure is seriously on him for sure. Listening to Declan Rice, he seems to think the group of players can give no more.
The Summer should be interesting, let's hope we do the business early .

PSG beat City plus Liverpool, Villa and us over two legs, and are in the CL final, but aren't a very good side?
Where are the good sides hiding?
08 May 2025 16:28:56
There are no good sides SW mate, there are only sides that Arsenal should beat every time we play them.
If we do beat other teams it's because those teams were poor opponents and of course if we fail to beat them we automatically become useless bottlers.
Sounds a bit like the medieval witch trials to me but it seems to make perfect sense to some people.
08 May 2025 21:11:12
I'm not really bothered about other sides, i'm more interested in how we play and tbh, it's just not been good enough over the course of a season.

Evening all. Understand some fans anger and frustration at not going through to the finals. Honestly I think we are all hurt and disappointed at how close we got but the outcome is still the same we have nothing in the cabinet. Not many of us expected us to progress past the first half of champions league never mind reaching the semi final. I'm proud of the overall performance of the team over the last 3 years especially this season given our injury hit squad. We have unearthed some real gems and makes the summer window easier to buy what we need. Let us not forget we still have 3 games left and nothing should be taken for granted we could easily finish outside the top 5. Let's get behind the team that have given us the opportunity to dream again so we can finish the season as high as possible and hope kronke and the berta can bring the players in that are required. Love the team love the manager. Clear out the players that are not growing with the team and bring in fresh players with winners mentality that can bring something to squad.

Not really angry Gunns but it has been glaringly obvious for sometime that we need a worldclass striker. It's the last piece of the jigsaw I think and then we will be in a great position. A striker like Isak or Sesko would have got a hatfull agains PSG as we created so many chances. If the board, Kroenke or Arteta don't see that then we have no hope of progress. Look at PSG as an example, they knew what they needed in January and went out and bought it.

Hi Sparky, the question is do we trust the process? Do we trust the board and manager want what we want every bit as much as we want them and are every bit as aware as we are of our needs but are simply privy to reasons why they have not been possible before now than we are?,
08 May 2025 23:18:58
That is something we will never know mate . What I do know is Kroenke isn't in it for the glory, he is quite happy collecting the money from Sky etc knowing at any time he can double his investment by selling the club. Its how football is now, its a business whether we like it or not. Not good for us fans but that's just where we are now.
09 May 2025 07:44:05
Hi Sparky. Logic and reason tell me that the club wouldn't have invested 100m in Rice if they didn't want to win big trophies, and whether Arteta is good enough is of course debatable but I don't think anyone can seriously question that he personally wants to win big trophies with Arsenal.
If I had to bet a months wages on the answer I'd have to bet that there is a logigical and rational reason why the club and manager haven't been able to sign the striker we all know we are missing because there is no logigical and rational answer as to why they would simply choose not to do so.
09 May 2025 08:13:49
62 is it possibly because they would rather spend the money on another left back instead?
09 May 2025 20:08:35
That is most definitely one possibility explanation Oleary, but obviously there are other explanations available too
Ultimately most people will choose to believe the explanation that best supports their personal feelings about the manager and owners that's perfectly normal, but just because something is normal doesn't always make it correct.
09 May 2025 20:34:50
62 what happened in Jan was a dereliction of duty whoever was responsible for it. It has cost us big time.
09 May 2025 21:34:15
Surely the first logical question is why didn't it happen before you even start searching for who was responsible for it not happening. If it were to turn out that circumstances beyond the clubs control prevented it from being possible wouldn't that make looking for someone to blame be like simply selecting a sacrificial lamb to appease the angry masses?
09 May 2025 23:27:36
in no way is this Arteta's fault let's be clear about that. Edu screwed us over and no idea how much damage that did. My only hope is the board back him and give him the team he can lead to glory.
Arteta is clearly passionate about the club [ even if some of his ramblings are a bit, well odd] and wants to prove he has what it takes as much as we all want it to.
10 May 2025 10:47:33
Hi Sparky Arteta does talk nonsense sometimes and I personally cringe at some of the nonsense he spouts out, but Arsene even when at his best was no stranger to coming out with his fair share of nonsense that no one not even Arsene himself truly believed.
Very few managers are capable of being consistently honest with themselves and maintaining their dignity on a regular basis, most tend to embarrass themselves their club's and fans after disappointments and when under pressure. Honesty and humility are very admirable qualities but very few have the ability to consistently display them.
