Seeing a fair bit of chatter (not on here) about how underwhelming our transfer window has been. However, I look about and don't see many teams that have done any better in this window.
Haven't seen Merino in action so no idea what we're getting there. Calafiori though looks quality. Having Timber back is "like a new signing".
Looking forward to seeing what our settled starting 11 looks like when everyone is up to speed.
{Ed025's Note - i think you have made a couple of good signings there Sharpey...but you have not addressed the elephant in the room for me mate, buy a bloody top striker....and the league is yours for me..

Hi Ed025 hope all good! Is DCL that striker or a plan B? In a better team could he hit 20 goals and is he better than Havertz? Be interested in a Toffee view COYG.
{Ed025's Note - he is a good striker SUSSEX and even though he has lost his mojo at Everton i feel he is a far better option than Kai mate, great in the air and his hold up play is very good, in the last year of his contract and we are desperate for funds so i believe you would get him for a snip, even as a plan B he would be a good option imo, all is good thanks and hope it is with you my friend..

I’d prefer him to Ferguson, but also suffers from injuries.
{Ed025's Note - hi Malaga, i really like Ferguson mate but he would cost a pretty penny i expect, imo DCL,s supposed injuries were mostly in his head as he was not happy with the style Everton play (neither am i by the way) and so running his contract down suits him, he would bring something different i feel and you dont really have a target man so maybe it could work..

Then let’s buy him and get his mojo back. I see him similar to Solanki and he was £65 mill. One more player Sharpie possibly two and good to go! All great ed025 off out fishing to catch a Clonker COYG.

Ed025, I'm with you on us needing a striker, but I'm actually ok if that doesn't happen this season. It seems like we're trying to put a bunch of building blocks together and it just isn't possible to do it all in a oner.
Hopeful that Kai repays the faith Arteta is putting in him. Let's see how it goes.
My point though is that signings in the EPL have largely been underwhelming.
What's your commission on this DCL deal? You seem intent on getting rid of him ?.
{Ed025's Note - i actually want us to keep him Sharpey but the guy wants away, and i think he gives you a different skill set than what you already have mate so for the money he would cost its a no brainer for me..

If there’s no one better than Kai then the football world has a talent isssue - sorry. I like the guy but to think there is no upgrade possible is crazy. If we are serious about winning then we will find the funds and player. He’s not good enough for a team that wants to win the league.
Think about how many defenders Henry had marking him, or staying back at corners as scared of counter, or how you knew he had it in him to change a game…. Now put Kai into that thought and be honest - who does it for you… Wrighty could do it, Kanu couldn’t but was still a great option / squad player as Kai can be. BUT I wouldn’t want to just have Kanu back in the day even though he won us games ( big games) … we need that special talent.
