From what I've just read there is no negations happening between Arsenal and Athletico as they are not necessary as long as we meet the release clause, I really have absolutely no knowledge how this all works but I assume we must have spoken to Partey either directly or through his agent to see if he himself is interested in coming to us? As I'm pretty sure that release clause or no release clause we can't force a player to join us against his will 😶.

John from what I can gather the transfer fee is paid directly to the Spanish FA.

Yes Mark that was the way I read it too mate, I'm just wondering if there is enough time to agree terms with the player as the last I heard your not allowed to negotiate with a player until his current club give permission, obviously not all clubs play by that rule:-)
