Was watching the Real Betis game last night and I witnessed for the first time ever, the ball hit the overhead floating camera. So the ref stopped the game and continued via a dropped ball. Has anyone else seen this happen, and are there now official rules added specifically for this occurrence, or is there a general rule that covers this?

It's a penalty against the home team, and a red card for the camera operator.
