Fornals and Gomez both gone to West Ham, I'm worried.

Didn't West ham and Fulham both spend big and what looked like very well last summer Akie mate?
New signings naturally get us fans excited but as we know only to Well spending doesn't always equal success or even improvement.

Well said G62! The list is a bit shorter, but until we can't sign a single new player, what's the big deal? Would Fornals be a pointless use of cash if we can't move Miki or Özil onwards?

Cheers Ned mate, my personal view on Mesut is he's a fantastic player and absolutely class on grass but we've never got the best out of him.
On the field of play surely our first priority is to start getting the best out of players we already have plus of course any that might join in the future.
Very few players have joined us in the last 7 or 8 years and become better players during their Arsenal careers and most seem to take a considerable dip after being with us while, I think solving why this happens to almost all players has to be the place to start.

I definitely don't buy the tired old criticisms of Özil, he's a fantastic player. We're also in a bit of a hole with him, and some solution forward needs to be found. If injury and form held him back second half of the season, I guess there's still hope he can bring his magic to the team. However, we can't afford to buy a new team to play around him, and for whatever reason this one isn't working very well. Surely in a wing back system, with two strikers, he should have enough space and options? Or is it the lack of late runs from midfield? As fans we have to be willing to accept a few, pragmatic signings this summer if Özil stays I think, and I imagine restocking our defence is priority.

I totally agree Ned mate, it's pretty obvious that Emery rightly or wrongly doesn't want Mesut so no real good can come from retaining his services at super high wages which puts a strain on our wage bill and spending power.
In order for it to be possible for Mesut to leave we will need to let him go on a free at the very least because what club anywhere is going to offer any kind of fee plus 250k a week for a player who we are desperate to offload.
When it comes to Mesut leaving it's 100% a buyers market and we will have to dance to the tune that both Ozil and any potential new club call just to part company with an extremely gifted player, it seems like madness but it is what it is.

To be honest I don’t Ozil is that good, and I think we need rid as he’s draining the wages, and when Özil plays we are playing with 10 men.

If you could transport a 28 year old Denis Bergkamp into this Arsenal side do you think he would shine Welsh mate? .
What about Henry?
I think big Tony is about the only player from our past that could actually made a huge difference to this team single handedly.
If Mesut had played in the invincibles generation he'd probably have a statue and if Bergy, Henry or any single invincible had player with the class of 18/ 19 or any Arsenal team of the last 7 years they'd probably look pretty poor too.
Mesut is like Henry and Bergkamp were before him the saffron that makes good food exceptional food while Tony Adams was always the Tomato ketchup and could improve any food at any table and even make the most unpalatable passable.
Mesut was quite simlpy an fantastic player at a fantastic club just during the wrong period of time.
