Petit is taking a small pop at the board

"When I hear about the amount of money Emery has to spend, I can't believe it. Where are you going with £60m? You're going nowhere.

"With that amount of money, you can put the best manager in the world on the sideline and the team won't change much. There is quality at the club, but not to match the likes of Manchester City or Liverpool. They need to bring in top quality players.

"I want to say to the board: can you just stop bringing in young players for one year? We've had enough of young players. The club is full of them. It's been like this for 15 years now, we need something else.

"We need talented experienced players. We need big characters and big personalities. This is what has been missing. For me, £60m is ridiculous."

Come on board back the new manager and the fans !!

Well that's is then!
In the words of private Frazer " we're doomed, doomed!
Might as well sell the stadium off to make way for another supermarket and meltdown all the silverware memorabilia for scrap and get all the kits on eBay!
Doomed, Doomed, do you hear, Doomed.

We will be better next year!

We can’t be worse - that’s for sure.

I say let Petit and all the critics who are writing the clubs new start off before its even had chance to begin get on with it, this is their time to talk down all things new and once the season gets here it's the clubs turn to do the talking.
Don't like it up um captain Manering.

Agreed 62 - I really want the new guy to succeed. Want the board to throw the kitchen sink at getting us as high and as good as possible

Sure he will sort the defence out and we’ve got a decent attack - really keen to see how he sets the team up, who comes in / goes out. can’t wait for pre-season.

From what I read today mate the club are only looking for first team ready players this summer and I'm really buzzed by that, there will be 5 to 10 million players who are lesser known to us and some aging player who we might only get one or two seasons out of but equally I'm sure there will be one or two to get us chomping at the bit for the season to start.

In all fairness aren't these new guys in charge of transfers? So the comments about the manager only having 50 mill to spend in my opinion is not that bad it could mean that's what he's got to spend on transfers of his choice could be wrong but I don't think everyone should read into it that much.

We will be ok next year imo but champions league may be only possible via Europa.

I see city. Utd. Liverpool in the top4,. One space left I feel.

Sanogo and Sy, i love your optimism but i am afraid we are getting left behind simply because the model at arsenal, the so called self sustaining model is ridiculous because in soccer, the model that has been proven to work is the speculative model. Spend with the hope that you will win trophies hence attract more commercial sponsors, exactly what happened at city and chelsea.

What kroenke wants to do at Arsenal is a vicious circle that we are never going to get out of. The self sustaining model only works when you are a really big brand like barcelona, real or united. United get 75 million pounds yearly from adidas we get 30 from puma, how are we going to compete with them when the revenues are that far apart? The only solution is to spend speculatively with the hope of winning trophies which happens more than often (take city and chelsea for instance) . Chelsea are in a position where their kit manafucturer now pays them 60m pounds, double ours simply because they spent and won a lot of trophies recently. Brands want to be associated with winners and we are not.
