Did we really expect any different from this season? Same recurring injury problems to key players, such as Santi and Hector, whose replacements have done far but impressed so far. We have proved we have been more resilient this year in not losing and grinding out results, but these injury problems are very significant to maintain a title challenge. Does Wenger now give Xhaka a chance in cdm with coquelin, or stick with the uninspiring Elneny? Fear we could be in for a season of old.

I think Xhaka is ready to step up.

Right back is an issue for us. Past hector we're hopeless. CM tho don't get me wrong santi is outstanding and hard to replace. But with the players we have there we should be coping. No excuses in my opinion.

Can someone explain why we have to wait 2months just to decide that Santi needs surgery which will keep him out for 3months? why they haven't done so immediately and now he will be month away from return. does this make sense?

Because they thought it'll heal. I know they're footballers but they're human as well. If the doctors surgeons or physios think it can heal through other methods then surgery they're going to do it. That's just what I think by the way. I know as much as you do lol.

I think it's decision time from Arsene as to who partners Le Coq and who ever he decides on needs to be given at least a conservative 5 game run next to Le Coq to give them any chance or forming a working partnership.
Its no good keep chopping and changing every time someone has a less than impressive game, Xhaka Elneny Ramsey Ox I don't mind who he chooses as long as he chooses someone, he bought them all he works with them all every day so he should be able pick between them and say your my man in Caz absence take this chance like Le Coq did in 2014 and make the place your own.
All taking it in turns is weak management from Arsene and he needs to show some decision making strength because if he doesn't take responsibility then the players certainly won't.

Gunner62 - I agree, despite my rotation stance, that in this instance Wenger should pair Coquelin with Xhaka and give the partnership a run of matches. I believe Xhaka would benefit greatly from playing more and allowed the freedom to express himself.

It seems to me RG mate that in Caz absence there is no plan mate the same for who plays in Sanchez LMF role we or more importantly Arsene seems to be making it up as we go along.
RB i have some understanding of because we have lost both Belerin and Debuchy leaving only a struggling Jenks as a recognised RB which obviously Arsene can't be accountable for because it's unusual to lose two players from the same position in such a short space of time.
But if he always planned on playing Sanchez down the middle rather than splash out on a top striker why let Joel Campbell and Gnarby go especially with Danny having such a long term injury.
All this not knowing and differing over who to play LMF and CMF can't be sending a positive message out to the other players and turn taking makes Arsene look less than a strong decisive manager ready to lead his team to a title imo, he's held all his auditions and now it's time to back himself and make a call one way or the other. Personally I'd give Xhaka the job next to Le Coq simply because of all the candidates available Arsene a lot of money for him so must see something he likes and LMF I'd go Gibbs who is better going forward than defending but is the most likely candidate to give Monreal a much needed hand but failing that Perez and let's see what he can do because he's supposed to have a very high work ethic so might also be what Monreal needs too.
