Maybe we do not know as much about Arsenal as we think we do because for sure I'm getting a little baffled now!
Let's look at the Wenger situation on a normal employment basis.
A manager in any other normal job would have been told or asked to leave by now.
What job in the world do you know where someone can perform like he has and he can come out with statements basically saying " I'm going nowhere for the time being until I'm ready " Who is running this
company?
I've got nothing against Wenger as a person believe me. But come on everyone it's got a bit beyond a joke now when an employee, which he is, starts calling the shots after failing miserably for years now.

To be fair his employers have already given him their backing and all he is doing is saying he won't walk away because of the stick he's getting.
I wouldn't listen to those with thier own agenda to much and all that new contract rubbish, Arsene will finish this contract next summer and IMO it's extremely likely he will stand down or what ever as manager of Arsenal football club.

You conveniently left out qualifying for the CL for 2 decades on the trot on a beer budget, while turning down high profile job offers like RM.

I view this season as a missed opportunity and Wenger gets a big part of the blame, but can't fathom how anyone can deny his qualities.

You are joking, right. That gives the impression you've been a fan for maybe what, a week.

Wenger at Arsenal:
Premier League Winners: 3
FA Cup Winners: 6
Community Shield Winners: 6
Premier League Manager of the Season: 3
Champions League Qualification: Every season and Runners up once
New Stadium
New Training Facilities
As fans we can get a bit frustrated with Wenger, but during his period at the club not many PL teams or their managers have won more trophies, nor improved the club as a whole to the degree he has.
He has brought us to the brink of competing against the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. Indeed, we have managed to beat these clubs during his tenure.
Some of the suggestions to replace him have been absurd and the top managers are not available this summer, assuming that is that Mourinho is lined up for Man Utd.
Is Lanesra a Tottenham fan? If so can he please list the trophies Pochettino has won in his entire managerial career.
If he is an Arsenal fan, can he please tell me of a manager that is available to replace Wenger and has a record equal to or better than Wenger's. For the purpose of this exercise, let's assume Mourinho isn't available as he is reportedly on his way to Man U.
I must admit that Wenger frustrates me at times, particular with poor players he has kept too long or with his refusal to sign a couple of top defensive midfield players and his insistence on playing small technical players in the defensive midfield roles, only for them to suffer injuries as a consequence. However, we may well rue the day he goes, if he is forced out by the fans at the end of his current deal.

Top replies, especially RG69.

RG69 great post, really liked that Wenger's biggest failing is that he loves his players too much, so keeps them too long. nice ;-)

I think part of the problem fans have with Wenger is the ridiculous decision not to strengthen our team last summer. We missed a great opportunity there but for whatever reason we didn't build on the momentum gained through the FA cup wins. At times this season Wenger has came across as someone who can no longer motivate players and in turn that has affected the players . This summer we will not buy the quality needed to win the league. One reason being that prices will be inflated due to the euros and Wenger has it stuck in his head he will only buy top top quality, players who are only available when the price is right. With man city supposedly buying every player under the sun and Man U splashing out to rebuild there will be slim pickings for the rest and I'm afraid that our philosophy of putting in low offers will result in more of the same frustration for fans . This summer will tell us an awful lot about the ambition of both the board and our manager.

Red I view this seaon as a failure to take advantage of the the failings of our excuses that we can't win the league because the teams that spend more money than us have had a bummer of a season and we have not been able to perform again. Limping to a fourth place finish. I hold the view if we can't win it this season we never will due to failure to progess with the times and strike when our opponents are down. yet again some major errors of judgement have been made.

Rg some of the suggestions of replacement have been absurd, that's your opinion like others think its absurd that he should still be manager. You really haven't a clur where we would be if we had got a new manager 1,2,3 four seasons ago and you haven't a clue where we would be next season either if he went in the summer. We could be worse off but we could be a whole lot better off, no sujestion is absurd. I bet if someone said Ranieri was going yo be our manager last year you would have said what!

29 Mar 2016 13:12:49
Rg69 what's this obsession with poch? Constantly trying to convince others that he's rubbish. He's a young manager who looked the part at Southampton . I for one think he has done well and trying to compare his record in the game to someone who's been managing for thirty odd years is mental! Poch only problem is the team he manages but let's not slip out of reality into some biased madness.

Wenger thanks for the the memory's.

The saddest part Steve, is not only do I agree with you that this was a missed opportunity and 1 signing might have been the difference (Striker or CDM) - but I still fully expect us to finish ahead of Spurs and draw within a few of Leicester - which in a weird way will only make us more sad than our recent stranglehold on 4th.

29 Mar 2016 16:41:48
Red unless with some miracle we win the league, it would be a massive disappointment to finish second and a massive disappointment to finish behind toots in third if that is the case and an even bigger one to finish fourth. Considering everything.

29 Mar 2016 15:59:12
Just telling you what I heard few months back 62. I don't know inside arsenal myself just what I get told. There's a contract offer there.

29 Mar 2016 19:24:50
Just my thoughts gunner. But if he signs the deal then just a little OK derby good call will so.

30 Mar 2016 08:22:56
Derby someone is feeding you manure mate, an offer of a new deal at this time makes no sense at all from anyone's point of view.
Arsene himself I'm sure doesn't want to think beyond next season and with us having a, very poor season and next season looking like being tougher than ever why would the board or anyone else want to make a decision they is no need to make at this time?
Some people are just trying to keep the pressure on Arsene simply because after the Everton performance most fans have already got over their disappointment and are 100% behind Arsene again and those with thier own agenda are getiing desperate to regain some momentum for it.
