Extremely Hypothetical fun question

If you could spin a coin, heads or tails and the prize was 30 extra points for calling correct or minus 30pts if you called wrong would you gamble?
30 extra points would put us top and 1 point clear of City with 7 games to go
But
Minus 30pts would put us 1pt ahead of Sheffield United and 17 behind Newcastle and safety with just 7 games.

Would you accept the gamble or stick as we are and live to fight another season for sure?

{Ed077's Note - to avoid relegation you wouldnt need to finish above Newcastle. You would have to finish above SHU, West Brom and Fulham. And Fulham are 6 points behind Newcastle and 2 above WBA having played a game more. So it would be more like 11-12 points from safety.

Same question except forget Newcastle and 17pts but instead think Fulham and 11pts behind with 7 games to go or 1pt ahead of City With 7 games to go.

Would you risk the gamble or stick as we are?
It's just meant to be a fun question not a referendum on Arteta or a opinion poll about whether it's ethical to mine the world's oceans 🤗.

{Ed077's Note - I would be reluctant to take the risk with 17 points to make up in 7 games but with 12 points, I am definitely going to take it. And it does help that I don't trust Arsenal to sustain the 1 point lead to City anyways lol😂

I totally understand Ed077 mate, if it was United we were talking about I'd very happily gamble 1pt increase if guessed correct v demotion to the tier 11 of the football pyramid if guessed wrong, and I'd quite happily call tails if there was a double heeded coin available 🖒 no offence meant mate, I'm sure you understand 😎.

They way we play these days, even if I took the gamble and won, went a point ahead of City with seven games to go - we'd probably still manage to finish in 9th place.

I know winning trophies is the main objective, but for me we have something amazing in never being relegated and therefore having the longest unbroken run in the top tier. No one else in our league can say that, and therefore I would never risk breaking that record.

Fair comment Epping mate, your spot on, it's only us and Everton who've never been relegated but we've been there longer than Everton so the longest serving top flight club.

I've seen every club bar Arsenal Everton and Liverpool play outside the top flight since I've been watching the game, still remember Denis Law relegating United with his back heeled goal for City and Spurs looking quite good in the second division 😂.

I wouldn’t trust the boss or mentality to be so close to the relegation battle. We could recover from missing out on league but not getting relegated. I wouldn’t risk anything of personal importance on Arteta having to get an important win. Can you imagine last game in a relegation battle and we piss around at the back, drop performers and tinker so much to counter the opposition. I’ll take the points as never want to see us relegated - we could fold with our debt and wage bill. Got a cold sweat thinking about it.

Sy couldn`t disagree more! This team when their backs are to the wall FA Cup semi and final, threatened with relegation and possibly going out of Europa against Benfica and Prague decide to put in a performance. It is that inconsistency against well everybody that causes the doubt in me not the ability of the players or MA. We are capable but need to do the hard yards against all teams - that`s what winners do . As for the question - what was the question again? COYG.
