Yeah, potential banana skin avoided, while also giving opportunities to squad players. As usual, Elneny was as dependable as ever, Turner looks solid, Holding had a good game as well ( if only he could stop that one big error a game, he would be a top CH) . Viera was poor, although improved in the 2nd half. He needs more game time. He doesn’t seem to be a player who will improve sitting on the bench. Lokonga was dreadful. If he needs a reason why he is not playing, just re-watch that game. If he was playing for Oxford he would have looked poor, let alone with an Arsenal shirt on. I think he also needs game time, through a loan or just get rid. Going back to previous posts, this is why I would prefer we spent decent cash on midfield in this transfer window rather than on a winger. As mentioned, I am a big fan of Elneny, but as cover in these type of games, but if Xhaka and more importantly Partey get injured, a midfield containing Elneny and Lokonga long term will not win the league, or even get you top 4.

What I will say is he has not had a class manager behind him

Yeah I like him and think he ia very good player, I wouldn’t be upset if he came to us. Based on his current role though, you would probably say he is more the Partey cover rather than Xhaka, but ultimately he could cover both, as Partey could take up that slightly more advanced role when he plays. I would certainly be confident in those difficult away games with him and Partey enforcing midfield behind Odegaard.

Opinions I guess! But crikey have we become so good that we don`t rate Declan Rice? Very good player who would suit us and will get better - and young unlike Hazard - surely wrong demographic and nonsense COYG.
