Prediction post:

I’m in no way claiming to be in the know but thought I’d share a scenario which I think may be somewhat feasible (possibly in an alternative universe) in the summer transfer window of 2021.

Lacazette, who will then only have 1 year remaining on his contract will be moved on and Arsenal’s no.1 target to replace him will be. Gabriel Jesus!

This might just sound like a random unattainable name I’ve plucked out of the sky but please hear me out. I think this season 2020/ 201 will be Aguero’s last season at the top with Man City, Gabi Jesus will expect to be their starting striker at the beginning of the 2021/ 2022 season, however, I can see city going all out for a complete replacement, possibly Lautaro Martinez who they were linked with this summer.

Jesus has waited ohh so patiently for his chance at a starting berth and this is the straw the breaks the camels back, he looks to get moved on. With Arteta’s strong ties with City he will know full well Jesus’ ability and with Edu’s Brazilian link I can genuinely see a slight plausibility in this nonsense I’ve created in my head!

I think if Arteta can have a strong progressive season this year I think arsenal can look like an attractive possibility for some big players (when was the last time we could say that! )

Jesus will be 24/ 25 at that stage and could contribute to 5/ 6 elite years as Arsenal’s number 9.

Would be amazing in my eyes if it could be done.

What are your thoughts guys?

Wont jesus be citys #1 striker though next year?

Really wouldn't like him if I'm honest. Just never done it for me always found him to be overated.

{Ed047's Note - SY4 would go nuts with amount of crying and rolling around on the floor he does!

Have to say not really a fan either.

If not Jesus then who? I feel like we’re going to be in the market to a starting striker next summer.

{Ed047's Note - How about our very own Martinelli

There seems to be a preference to play him out wide rather than through the middle. I would definitely agree, think the lad has talent in spades but I don’t think the club sees him leading the line next season.

{Ed047's Note - you just never know Dempo or maybe if we can hang on to him Balogun might be another option.
