Hi Edd is there any truth in arsenal not pursuing a move for ziyech would be a great signing in my opinion.

Imired

1.) 12 Jul 2019 17:48:51
Let's face it, we need to make 5 signings and only have 45m, plus sales to spend. So far we have only sold Ospina for 3m and I belive we also received a sell on fee of 4m. That makes 52m, less 6m spent on 18 year old Martinelli, leaving a balance of 46m. That equates to 2 mediocre signings at best. Hence we are looking at loan deals and players out of contract.
I have a strong feeling that we will only make one or two signings, the rest of the spaces in the 25 man PL squad will be filled with youngsters and players that we would ideally like to move on.

This could easily be the season that we fall out of the top 6. I fully admit that I am unimpressed with the set up at the club.

2.) 12 Jul 2019 18:13:29
If things don't improve next season we will have a new manager by next summer at the latest, sometimes you've got to kiss a few frogs to find your princess.
Last season was worse because we knew Dick would get to start this season no matter what but now he has to deliver or make way.
When you have a safe manager no matter what it's extremely deflating and almost pointless but once a manager has to deliver or go then we start looking like any other big club again.

3.) 12 Jul 2019 18:38:18
62 mate, we cam blame Emery for his tactics and whatever. But if the club not willing to spend and get the right players in and sort out our weaknesses, how he can improve the performance of the team.
Lets say next season was awful, same old arsenal. And we change Emery but again the board not willing to show ambition. Then the next manager will be as helpless as Emery in my opinion.
Don’t get me wrong, I still believe he’s not the right choice from what I’ve seen last season but you can’t expect too much from him if the club can’t sort out the problem we have.
With his set of players we have I doubt pep or Klopp can do much mate.

4.) 12 Jul 2019 19:39:58
Hi Moe has Emery done all that can possibly be done with our defence and all round team performances by organising and motivating them to their full potential?
If the Answer is yes then all hope is lost but it the answer is
With better organisation tactics and player motivation even our current squad could be improved dramatically then hope springs eternal Moe mate.

5.) 12 Jul 2019 21:28:55
I blame Emery for doing absolutely nothing to improve a disorganised defence and set up of the team defensively. I blame him for a terrible winter window. I blame him for not addressing the obvious. I blame him for terrible decisions. I blame him for tinkering with the team and set up. I blame him for Rambo leaving and the treatment of Rambo. I b. lame him for mismanaging Ozil. I blame him for not improving the midfield. I blame him for the terrible end to the season. I blame him on having close to no impact on the side, performances and tactics. I blame him for removing the slight relief and excitement of change following his appointment. I blame him for a wasted season with no direction. He’s got a lot to answer for and I won’t lose any sleep if he’s fired after 2 games. We looked terrible in preseason last season and the areas to improve were obvious and we had players who most managers would have gotten more out of.

I blame the board for its lack of balls, strategy and expectations. I blame them for allowing Wenger to drift without repercussions. I blame them for Ozil’s contract, Rambo, Sanchez situation and their lack of ruthlessness

I blame Wenger for his last 10 years but I thank him for maintaining top 4 when our budgets were tight. I thank him for the youth he left us with as there’s hope in the ashes left. I also thank him for the best football I’ve ever seen. He needed to go but we had to move forward mentally and performance wise.

Quicker we change Emery, back room staff, board etc the better - sorry but the issues were so obvious and the non improvement just close to gross misconduct.

6.) 12 Jul 2019 22:13:17
I agree with most of your post SY but on Arsene we duffer.
His first 8 years were truly incredible but his last 16 were pretty bang ordinary for a big club and as for the youth he's left us with? It's nothing we haven't seen and watch fade away many times before under his leadership mate.
Fabregas remains the last Arsenal youth to make a big impact at top level and he emerged in 2004.
Arsene had 8 wonderful seasons which coincidently included George players and those who had played with and learned from George players, once the George influence went completely so did Arsenes magic touch.
Arsene and George were like the horse and cart, both better when attached to the other.

7.) 12 Jul 2019 22:28:18
I'll tell you where you were right SY, Emila Fox! Hot or what.

8.) 13 Jul 2019 01:21:25
You really blame Emery for the winter window he has a little input into transfers them fools sanhelli and that other fella are messing things up, I'm not sticking up for Emery but don't blame him for things out of his control.

9.) 13 Jul 2019 02:16:16
62 mate, I’m totally on the same boat as you, but we clearly need upgrade on some of the players we have especially defensively. The team need to be injectes with new blood. And if that happen and Emery still can get nothing which I’m sure that will be the case then bye bye and get in a young manager with fresh ideas. Football is developing fast and we seem to be standing still.

10.) 13 Jul 2019 03:20:03
We literally one Harry Kane or one Aubameyang PK from top 4 last year under a brand new coach. stop overreacting.

11.) 13 Jul 2019 08:54:18
You remembered - Emila Fox!

Ha ha made me smile - have a great weekend

Oh - we technically may have been a Harry Kane away from top 4 ( not sure ) - I thought we were a defence away from competing or a stupid decision against a palace etc away from Top 4. A missed penalty happens but tinkering and crap decisions don’t fly in my book. Sorry

And yes I know I’m overreacting 😉.

12.) 13 Jul 2019 08:51:23
We bottled it last year, we simply needed one win at home ans they all walked over is in the final 5 games, if we were unlucky I would give it to tou but we were all over the place. So stick with Emery as long as you want but sooner rather than later you will change your mind buddy.

13.) 13 Jul 2019 11:21:12
Been watching celebrity goggle box and Emilia is absolutely stunning mate :-) .
Last seasons top 3/4 was ridiculously poor quality and we still didn't make it, I personally don't think that's anything to encouraged by at all.
Liverpool City Spurs will be in next seasons top 4 almost certainly which leaves us United and Chelsea to try and sneak the last champions league place, I'd guess at Chelsea all day long, why?

Lampard will listen to and take all the help and advice he can get because he knows his own strengths and weaknesses, yes they've lost Hazard but sometimes losing a player around which everything centres can work in your favour because others step up and the transfer ban may also work for Chelsea rather than against them by allowing their younger players chances they haven't previously had.

As for us and United? Both clubs look lost and neither have a manager that looks capable of pulling everyone together in order to get the best out of what they have based on what on what either Emery or Ole have shown so far.
Both Ole and Emery appeared to benefit from the bounce factor a new manager sometimes gets but once that wore off both looked completely out of their depth and the longer last season went on the more incapable both looked of pulling their teams together even though the prize was very much there for the taking.

Let's see what if anything Dick learned about his players and much much more importantly about himself last season, because if he doesn't change his own philosophies he aline with our chances of anything like an enjoyable season looked pretty much doomed already . Doomed doomed I say, DOOMED :-)

14.) 13 Jul 2019 13:21:59
At least you have celebrity goggle box and silent witness re-runs on Dave if the season pans out as I expect it too. 😂😂😂.

15.) 13 Jul 2019 16:44:14
Absolutely SY mate, supporting Arsenal is a passionate hobby but far from the be all end all.
It's great to be engrossed in football where you can't wait for each game to get here but in truth it's been a while since things were like that at Arsenal.
Luckily for everyone there are many many other things to enjoy in life too and watching Emilia definitely isn't the worse way of spending your spare time :-)
Do check out Vilanelle in killing Eve too mate, fantastic character and Jodie Croner plays her perfectly and is definitely enough to stop you thinking about football:-)

Let's win the Europa League for wenger send him out on a high he will go down as the greatest arsenal manager.

Imired

1.) 20 Apr 2018 10:17:01
Liverpool fan here in peace. Not here to criticize the fans actions of the previous few months when you see your club clearly needs a change.

However, now the decision has been made, I really hope you give Arsene Wenger a legendary send off he deserves.

Gotta say, I hope he grabs that Europa Cup. I know that makes you more of a threat next season but what the hell. That's what makes it fun.

2.) 20 Apr 2018 10:37:24
I like the cut of your jib Davey.

3.) 20 Apr 2018 10:49:57
Ed’s- no disrespect to Wenger but looking at the future, I’m sure the board had a big part to play in his decision to stand down. Have you heard any whispers or have any knowledge of who the front runners are to succeed or if not, whom they may likely approach for the role? I know you’ve said names in the past but I’d assume with wenger 100% leaving now managers might actually consider this job with a more open mind.

{Ed002's Note - I have explained for a very long time where the interest has been and what is viable and what is not. At this point in time, nothing has changed.}

31 Jan 2018 11:22:37
Edd what's the latest on giroud I'd Chelsea the only club interested.

Imired

{Ed002's Note - Agreement has already been reached with Chelsea and Giroud and now that they have agreed a player leaving and Arsenal have agreed P-EA it can be completed.}

1.) 31 Jan 2018 12:22:36
Appreciated ed2.

2.) 31 Jan 2018 15:01:40
Its all gone a bit quiet on this for the last few hours. And balague says we are still working on another deal? Could this be involving Luiz in the Groud transfer?
Not sure another flappy defender is what we need but i would take another player in that position!

29 Jan 2018 21:21:23
Giroud to Chelsea for 15mil according to various newspapers I can't believe we're contemplating selling to Chelsea.

Imired

1.) 29 Jan 2018 21:46:45
For that amount is just crazy.

2.) 29 Jan 2018 21:59:10
Its probably so that Chelsea will sell Batshuayi to Dortmund and Aubameyang will join us.

Giroud has never been a big game player, decent business in my opinion. If we were buying him, I think we would all be a bit p**sed off.

3.) 29 Jan 2018 22:04:08
That price for a 31 year old isn't too bad. When you consider how little he plays. However to Chelsea for that amount is stupid business.

4.) 29 Jan 2018 22:08:54
Why? Why are we doing this? Maybe they'll take Welbeck instead?

5.) 29 Jan 2018 22:45:07
Why are we doing this? Because we are set to land Aubameyang from it maybe that’s why. Don’t get me wrong I love Giroud and think he’s been a diamond with all the stick he gets but let’s be realistic, Aubameyang or keep Giroud? If you say Giroud, you’re off your nut 🥜.

6.) 29 Jan 2018 23:01:35
Is David Luiz the reason.

7.) 30 Jan 2018 06:45:00
@Steve r - I hope so. Luiz in a back three would be a good fit, or as a DM.

8.) 30 Jan 2018 07:13:59
15mil plus a rumoured £140k a week off the wage bill for a 31 year old plan B, good business in my opinion.

9.) 30 Jan 2018 08:27:58
Giroud has no pace, we can keep til he's 35, and he'll still be good.

10.) 30 Jan 2018 11:41:02
Yeah in todays market that is way below a fair price for a international strtiker Giroud (25m-30M is about right) but if it means getting the Aubameyang deal over the line then it needs to be done. Chelsea no doubt using this against us to get a cheap deal and Giroud needs to play more regular to secure that world cup place, although I question weather he would get more game time at Chelsea tbh? Sounds like Giroud does not fancy moving to Germany.

{Ed001's Note - to be fair, they did sell you Cech on a decent price (though he has not looked himself since that is hardly their fault), so you can't really complain about doing the same in return.}

11.) 30 Jan 2018 11:53:57
Monaco in for Giroud I hear.

16 Jan 2018 13:27:13
Hi edd have we lost interest in Julian draxler we've always been linked with him and I'm surprised we've not put an offer on the tacked.

Imired

{Ed002's Note - Not at all - Arsenal remain interested in Draxler.}

1.) 16 Jan 2018 13:41:24
Thanks for your quick reply.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

2.) 16 Jan 2018 14:34:45
Are psg looking to sell, ed?

{Ed002's Note - They would be open to a good offer.}

3.) 16 Jan 2018 23:02:18
Hey Ed. I'm finding this window a tad strange regarding our targets. Do you actually believe we'll sign one or two of the big names mentioned? What throws me off is the board made it very clear in the summer/ end of last season we were ambitious and that we would challenge for the title this season yet our single signing has only completed a handful of games and our beast of a LB can't win his place over a CM youngster. Wenger showed no signs of wanted to truly sign anyone last window apart from Mbappe who unfortunately made the right decision. I just feel lost. Sanchez made it clear in the summer he wanted to move on yet we didn't act so why act now. Meaning we can keep him to the end of the season just as Wenger has been adamant about until this week. I will say this though, regardless who comes in, I like that we're finally trying to lose dead weight.

{Ed002's Note - Yes.}

Surprised we didn't go for junior frippo now with tierny out for 8 weeks maybe taglifiaco.

Imired

1.) 03 Aug 2019 15:24:10
It would be crazy to pursue a player out until October at the very best and more likely December if no further set backs. Feel for the lad but January maybe the time to revisit his availability.

2.) 03 Aug 2019 16:16:59
He's already had 300 days out injured since Oct 2016, for 2 wks, 3 wks, 1 mtnh, nearly 2 months, and twice for 2.5 months. Another 2 or 3 months now. I think we need a different target, or use the bundesliga team of the year lwb that we have.

3.) 03 Aug 2019 16:30:25
Perhaps we will persevere with Monreal and Kolasinac, as it makes little sense to spend £25m on a player who is out for 8 weeks. Reports indicate we are looking for a CB, possibly on loan and a further wide player or a playmaker. I don’t believe Emery has any faith in Ozil, Mkhitaryan and possibly, Iwobi as well.
We could line up with Pepe, Ceballos and another wide player in a 3 man attacking midfield. Zaha would be awesome, but unlikely. Everton Soares or Fraser perhaps?

4.) 03 Aug 2019 17:07:27
His Injury record has to be a concern for the club especially with all the injury prone players we have been stuck in the recent past. Is he worth 25mill as player yes for his quality in today's crazy market, but at the same time we don't want to end up with another Gibbs. I think it will be one more offer if Celtic reject then move on.

We do need a LB though soon though. Monreal is just ok but Kolasinac for me is consistantly poor as a LB in a back 4 but decent as an attacking wing back. Emery seems to be favouring a back 4 though so for me that would leave Kolasinac out of the frame as a starter.

An expierned CB would be perhaps more important right now with Kos likley to leave.

Rumours about Coutinho a bit out there although if its a swap loan with Ozil that kind of makes sense. I think Emery don't trust Ozil and is slowly trying to force him out some shape whch is not easy with his wages.

5.) 03 Aug 2019 18:53:00
It's no good signing players for the sake of it or players who are already injured.
Maitland Niles, Papa Chambers Monreal will start at Newcastle as things stand.
With my guess Torreira Ceballos Xhaka in a 3 man midfield
And Pepe Lacca Auba in a 3 man attack.
I'm not sure how much help the defence will get and I'm sure Steve Bruce will equally see as many reasons to think he could get off to a flying start as Newcastle boss as reasons to be feaful of getting hamerd and being under pressure from day one.
We have to find a way of playing that allows us to be disciplined professional and capable of managing games and stops other teams always feeling there's always plenty of chances and goals to be had against us.

6.) 03 Aug 2019 20:04:24
Here we go, and he hurts to leave out Ozil.

▪️Bernd Leno

▪️Hector Bellerin ## Maitland Niles to stand in ##
▪️Sokratis Papastathopoulos ## needs replacing due to age and VAR coming Into play ##
▪️Rob Holding
▪️## New Left Back ##

▪️Granit Xhaka
▪️Lucas Torreira
▪️Dani Ceballos

▪️Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
▪️Alexandre Lacazette
▪️Nicolas Pepe

Need back up for defence and needs coaching.

7.) 03 Aug 2019 20:26:29
Hey ARG, why you always change your name. What's that about maaannn?

COYG.

8.) 04 Aug 2019 11:18:45
100% has to leave Özil out he’s the week link along with the defence.

22 Jul 2019 13:48:27
Fekir going to real sociedad for around 22mil which is a bargain in today's market it's a shame we couldn't move ozil and miki out fekir and ziyech would of been upgrades.

28 Jun 2019 17:01:14
Zaha is a good player but not a top top player in my opinion and with palace wanting in an excess of 70million I don't think it's worth it rather go for neres, Douglas Costa or even I sarr much cheaper and maybe slightly better technically.

Imired

1.) 28 Jun 2019 19:38:34
If we can get Zaha for half of that then I'd be game.

No thanks to Douglas Costa, but Sarr is more than worth a punt.

26 Jun 2019 15:32:08
If Lucas torreira wants to leave I'd let him go especially any deal involving Suso good replacement for miki and ozil has great work ethic and is also home grown ndombele would of been the perfect replacement for torreira but he's off to spurs maybe one of Parejo (Valencia) tielsman or even cabellos would be a decent replacement.

Wolves, Fulham, Liverpool and West ham have had exciting Windows not. Complaining about ours but could of done with a few more players that will push into the first team the player I'm most looking forward. To is. Terreira seems like a little pitbull that won't stop running as for Lichsteiner he can play in a back 3 and is very versatile with experience expect him to start a few matches because of Bellerin poor Form sokratis hasn't impressed in pre season looks. Like. Another mertesacker slow clumsy and not very agile so maybe he needs teirrera protecting him I think miki will have a great season alongside Aubameyang.

1.) 09 Aug 2018 12:56:44
Yeah we are 4th top spenders this window so far, but as always it's not about how much but how well you spend that counts as I'm sure Leicester will tell anyone.

2.) 09 Aug 2018 13:13:21
Needed more we never sign what we need new manager but sane terrible board who won't put much money in to us.

3.) 09 Aug 2018 13:35:14
Are we top 4 spenders? The only thing keeping me going is the Mourinho quotes 😂😆😂 I wish we had them first game instead of city.

4.) 09 Aug 2018 14:11:54
i think we are 8th top spenders g62.

5.) 09 Aug 2018 14:45:34
Oh ok Eden mate its probably changed since I read it this morning but it was Liverpool Fulham West ham then us in the table I read.
I think it's all about getting right people in more than a spending competition in reality last season we 100 million plus on 2 players and had our worst season in years.

6.) 09 Aug 2018 15:13:37
yes, I've got my fingers crossed more discipline and tactics will proove more valuble than any players and we will be like a different side! the list i saw was the same clubs you said also chelsea, leicester, everton and utd.

7.) 09 Aug 2018 15:13:37
yes, I've got my fingers crossed more discipline and tactics will proove more valuble than any players and we will be like a different side! the list i saw was the same clubs you said also chelsea, leicester, everton and utd.

8.) 09 Aug 2018 15:25:49
Been a decent window as we done the deals early which is a bonus but could have been better. Torriera is the main key signing let's hope he can give that valuble back 4 protection we crave. Sokratis does look a little slow but should be strong and good in the air and hopefully lead the back line better, but we do need Kos back ASAP.

Lichtsteiner is good signing strong and decent enough on the ball and could possibly cover CB also but is obvs only going to be a short term solution. Guendouzi has been impressive in pre-season so looks like a good buy but one for the future. Leno not really what I would call top class but with Cech coming to the end a keeper was needed not sure he will be the long term answer in goal though, is he any better than Ospina?

I think we still need another DM like Nzonghi for the harder way games and also a proper winger would be nice. I think Ramsey should have been sold to get Nzonghi tbh

Daft that Chambers was allowed to go on loan as I think while KOS is out a back 3 with chambers as the sweeper next to the slower Mustafi and Sokratis would be more solid when we are under more pressure in the big games.

Is probably koscielny last season along with Monreal both getting on a bit and should. Of. Been replaced. This season even mustafi is. Hot. And cold and. Could. Of. Should of signed Perreira but he's now joined Leicester meanwhile wolves are signing cancelo for 35mil and we just signed Lichsteiner who's going to have little Impact and not challenge Bellerin, if we wanted a freebie should. Of gone for hendricks and if we sign fellaini this will just be the most ridiculous transfer in a long time.
