Loan at Nice has gone well and Marseille have asked about a loan for next season whist discussing another player with Arsenal and likely losing out of their first choice Caleta-Car replacement.}

Ed, Am I seeing things? Saliba from what I’ve seen has all the qualities you want in a promising young CB? Massive, fast, decent on the ball. Do you have any idea why he’s not being considered as a long term CB at arsenal.

Are you able to say who that player is please?

Honestly, even if we did have the money for grealish (which we clearly dont) i think we need to learn from the pepe situation and not blow the budget on one player, too many positions in the squad need strengthening.

Well if you are going to spend a lot of money on a single transfer, I think buying a player already proven in the premiership makes much more sense than blowing 70mil on a player who has absolutely no premiership experience and has given all his best performances in a weaker league.
We wouldn’t spend 70 mil on a championship player so why we did on a player from the French league is anyone’s guess. Man City won’t mind buying Kane and Grealish and you won’t see many say they have spent badly if they do.

As for Pepe, if he keeps up his current form into next season, he’ll be an important player. Easy to forget he came to a team that’s all over the place with no leaders for a record fee bringing huge expectation, for a manager that pulled him in and out of a team (which doesn’t fuel confidence) in a system the team weren’t getting behind. Not to mention had BellerÃn behind him.
