We are unlikely to buy anything that is an upgrade on what we have. And if we are not willing to strengthen the defence with properly funded recruits, the future looks somewhat bleak. It certainly won't be rectified by half arsed loan+buy later deals for ageing players. Moreover, if Ramsey stays until the summer, we do not need midfielders as much as we require defenders. The back four is the existential crisis facing the club and they have yet to show interest in resolving it.

It takes some understanding UC, well it's beyond me anyway.
Obviously that's not the most difficult trick to pull off :-)

If we can only do loans, a RB should be top of the list, with bellerin out til next season.

Here's hoping for some last minute transfer wizardry. Despite what I said above, a fresh face would give us all a bit of a boost.
