Arsene mate if you were to fall on the sword and go now and admit that you cannot turn this around, you walk with head held high and say I gave it my best but the longer this goes on the worst times will be remembered and the great great achievements and moments won't be and that in itself will be so unfair on you and the great great players you brought to this club. Kroenke must be looking at the balance sheet and projected profit column and he must have major concerns. While we are in the ELand a remote chance of Champions League I don't think the board will act so irrespective of what the result is against Brighton I think he is safe till the Ac Milan outcome. I posted the other day that despite his great achievements I have never personally warmed to him and what I think is his total lack of respect for the fans. Something has to give in the next couple of weeks either Arsenes ego or Kroenkes support for him because from where I'm standing he hasn't got a lot support player wise and even less on the terraces.

Just so you know I really don't think arsene reads the posts on here.

Haha sunshine? It's called banter calm down😂.

02 Mar 2018 13:56:56
By the way I actually agree with the post. I was just joking with the way you started it as if you was hoping arsene would read it. Didn't think I'd actually need to explain that lol.

I think Arsene not only reads the posts on here I think he actually contributes under the alias of Steve.

G62,
You could be correct.
Arsene is definitely nose-blind.

We all assume Kronke wants/ needs the club to qualify for the CL as well but my worry is does he? He is a business man with no care of our history or ambition. He will coldly work out the best way for his investment in the club to increase in value with minimal input from him. Yes, he hasn't taken a dividend from the club, but he has seen the overall value of his holding increase. To us fans it makes perfect sense to want to qualify for the CL, because you need to qualify to win it, and we assume Kronke also wants it for the bottom line too. However, what if Kronke looks at it very differently, and he works out that regular CL qualification brings in say an extra 60-100m a year, but will require a much bigger transfer budget of 100m a year to achieve it. So the potential is there to speculate to acumulate, but its more of a gamble, returns will be more volatile, and he will probably need to keep a closer eye on his investment. He then compares this to an alternate model, where we don't expect/ target CL football, and instead just target a league finish of between 6-8, boosted by the occasional trophy or top 4 finish. He then works out this can be achieved in the PL with either no or a minimal transfer budget, resulting in no major input from him, and a more guaranteed, less volatile (albeit smaller) yearly increase on his investment. My hope is our next manager is a name who quite obviously would not come to the club for option 2, such as an Allegri. However, if our next manager is someone from a lesser current club (such as an Eddie Howe type manager) stepping up, i fear that that option 2 is very much the owners ambition.

in my opinion epping no champions league changes everything and longer it goes on the worse its gets for stans investment.

with sponsorships up for renewal soon its not a great time.

To me it's got past the point of whether Champions league money is an issue or not it's about why does Arsenal football club exist, what is the purpose? Why should people support the club and why should the next generation of supporters chose Arsenal to support?
The answer can't be to keep one man happy
No matter how much I like Arsene as a person he can not be allowed to run the club down and cost us our future fan base because he was once the best manager we've ever had.
The kids of today call us Arsene FC and the only really young Gooners coming through are through family connections and family loyalty.
No neutral kids or kids who love the game but don't feel obliged to follow Arsenal will chose Arsene fc as it's become fashionable to call us in the playgrounds up and down the country.

Good post epping, we are 24 hours on from last night and wenger is still at the helm. No action means, the club can't smell failure. They are as spineless as the players. RIP arsenal football club.

I really hope your right Derby. you have to speculate to accumulate. but then again i have worked in finance all my life and can never for the life of me understand why anyone would prefer bonds over equities as the latter wins every time. but the booms and bust in equities are much bigger, so some prefer the steady eddy of bonds. and i just have a horrible feeling Stan is a bonds type of man.

02 Mar 2018 21:33:57
epping, stan is as tight as a duck's bottom. hate the guy, his teams win nothing long term and he is happy ticking over.

hes underestimating the English fans and in the end it will be his downfall. arsenal fan tv i've always backed and despite what people say its a big influence

do the players watch It, your damn right they do. plus sky sports pundits.
