Predictions boys? I think if you buy a couple if top players you might be the team to beat. As ever though, its a pretty big if.

Can't see Chelsea winning it, Conte will likely self combust, Klopp is great but the scousers still lack quality. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig.

City look strong, probably best squad and now Pep, but they feel like a team of individuals. United will be better but its a big jump to win it.

So, are you boys optimistic?

Chelsea
City
Utd
Then 1 of Arsenal Liverpool Spurs Leicester Everton or west Ham in 4th.
Just can't see how we can be any more likely to challenge this season than the previous 10 if so why? what's different this time round to all the others.

What's exiting you about Chelsea G62?

08 Aug 2016 08:10:44
Harrods, Victoria and Albert Museum, Kensington Palace and much more SLB. 😉.

Can I ask why we will self-combust? We signed the Premier League's best midfielder, are keeping Costa and got Hazard firing again. On top of that, we are finally playing the class that is our youth. We need a new centre back and striker right now, but confident we'll get it. We will be challenging, can say that with confidence. I think Jose has more of a chance of self-destructing, especially with the pressure after spending so much and his dismal performance last year.

Lol red Dog.

For me, Utd haven't addressed their main issue, a playmaker like Scholes.

Chelsea have bought well, Kante is quality but I can't see them going from 10th (last season) to 1st.

We haven't addressed our striker and Centre Half issue.

For me, City.

Chelsea and City have the best squads by far, but both managers need to show they can adapt their brands of football for the premier league otherwise they won't be winning the league.

Still having said that I don't think we've got enough in our squad to win it, or even challenge now your consider our void at CB.
Liverpool still lack quality in a few positions but if they can keep everyone fit (especially Sturridge) who knows.
Man Utd have a good squad and a manager who knows how to win, however they've got to get the stink of LVG off first and who knows how long that'll take. They also don't have a Mourinho squad although he's clearly trying his best to acquire one!
Spurs simply lack quality beyond their starting 11, and throwing in champs league could well tire playing Poch's brand of football.

All in all I think it'll likely be:

Man City
Chelsea
Man Utd
Liverpool.

I don't think unitards squad is as good as ours! Their first 11 is shaping up now though.

For me SLB Chelsea have bought some quality additions to add to a team that walked the premier league 2 seasons back so they have the majority of thier squad already blended and in Conti they have a no nonsense strong good tactically manager who will get the best out of them.
Their quality on the field didn't disappear last season they just fell apart off it.

{Ed001's Note - why do you call Conte tactically good? That is his weakness. He struggles tactically which is why Juve have a much better European record since he left. His strengths are building a team spirit.}

We will get top 4, but I think Chelsea or Utd will win it. Ibra will get a lot of goals.

I think City are a bit disjointed, even though their squad is quality. Will take Pep a year or 2 to really get them gelled and firing.

As for Liverpool, I can't see them getting 5th let alone 4th.

So we will be top 4, which is like a trophy, right? RIGHT?!?

I'm just going by his Italy performances that I've seen over the last few years Ed001 mate, to me they always looked very well set up and organised.

{Ed001's Note - that is differently from being tactically strong though g62. He is, imo, a firefighter to rebuild from the devastation left behind last season. He will bring the squad together as a unit and get them well organised. They will need to get someone in to then take them forward from there.}

Fair play Ed mate, from all I've read and heard on TV the Italy players loved playing under him dispite his disciplined approach and they seem to respond to him in their performances.
I think he might just be what Chelsea have needed for years, strong but fair management with who they know where the line is.
To me it's always seemed like player power has been Chelsea main problem which successive managers have failed to constrain well enough, for me I think he succeed where many have tried and failed.

{Ed001's Note - I am sure he will succeed up to a point. I still feel that they will need a change if they want to be successful in Europe, as he was badly found out when he faced the big boys there in the past. Their issue is the recruitment side of things, imo, they still haven't fixed that. They have struggled to get the right players since Steve Walsh left.}

Chelsea have the best squad on paper. The only thing is this game is played on grass.

08 Aug 2016 19:25:26
I think we might win it.

Leicester lost kante their main man, and teams will sit deeper.
Liverpool have a decent squad but are lacking exceptional quality.
United, despite all their spending, are still a shambles, and though i don't see you being far away I can't see you winning. But it's Jose, so he'll get you the league cup as a consolation prize, win the league next year then get sacked the following.
Spurs are spurs.

Chelsea aren't going to recover to 1st, not with conte.
City have made a lot of signings but I feel this is the year that Peps going to look a little stupid.

So really, if we signed at least a CB and maybe another forward I'll be quietly confident.
You can all slag me off in May when we finish 4th ;)
