In this climate, almost everyone's expectations need to adjust. Valuations of 12-18 months ago mean nothing now.

No, certainly not, Manchester City operates in a market unafflicted in the same way as everyone else. You might add Chelsea to that. When Barcelona and Real Madrid cannot buy at the prices asked and we cannot even get rid of Bellrin on loan something has most definitely changed.

Hi Ed apparently arsenal got Ben white according to David ornstein can you confirm it? I think it's a great signing this be our 3rd signing but we still need 4-5 more players.

Hi edd do you personally think arsenal will sign Maddison and I think we need at least 5 top quality players how man do you think we will sign.
{Ed002's Note - Maddison would not be the first choice. James Maddison (AM) has been scouted by Manchester City, Spurs, Manchester United and Arsenal on a regular basis since moving to Leicester but attempts by Manchester United and Spurs to discuss the player have failed due to them being told that he is not for sale and the likely asking price being very high. Unlikely to leave Leicester this summer unless avery high offer arrives. Wages may be an issue to anyone making an offer as the proposal is very steep from his agent. Leicester may look to cash in.
Arsenal are gradually replacing the midfield but are continuing to work hard to sell. I would expect perhaps three more in addition to the two they have already. DEpartures would drive GK additions etc.}.

Personally I like that we’re looking to add English talent like Maddison but my preference is Odegaard if a deal was to be done for one. I just thought he was a class act. Papers are saying Madrid need to sell and odergaard could be one of those sold…. Thoughts Ed? Any gossip that he could be available?

Real Madrid are happy to include him on a lengthy list of players that they are open to selling or including in exchanges in the summer - and that may suit Seville who have a player that Real Madrid are showing an interest in. Ideally Real Madrid would like an auction for him but will seek €50M plus for a cash sale - else they will simply keep him. Arsenal would consider him on a permanent deal but it depends on finances, which are tight, with sales being required.}

Regarding the 3 other potential additions, would I be right in saying that these would possibly be at CB, RB and AM?
It seems that Ben White is the CB target but we'll see what happens there. Lacazette looks set to see out his contract, I assume putting an end to our striker search this summer?
You did mention GK as well though dependant on departures so it will be interesting. We definitely need a RB that's for sure!

Jaybo84 if we can’t afford big signings how have we got Ben white? For 50m and CM LB we so far spent around 75m so them who say we can’t afford to spend a lot how come we just got white for 50m.
