Well not been this nervous for a game in a long time but genuinely believe we can get a result tonight.
Just want to say that whatever happens this is one of the best seasons ever for me as my expectation was so low at the start and its been an honour watching this young team perform so well.
And I will see you all later when I climb out from behind the sofa.

Beefy08

{Ed014's Note - I don’t think you’re alone Beefy, see you on the other side mate!

1.) 26 Apr 2023 19:58:32
I am already behind the sofa and I will see you all on the other side of the sofa later on.

{Ed014's Note - I really hope so Bill

2.) 26 Apr 2023 20:01:24
Whatever happens stay positive about this young team and our unexpected fantastically enjoyable season ????❤❤❤❤.

3.) 26 Apr 2023 21:19:22
Well can relax for the rest of the season now .
Hopefully don't completely fold for our last few games and play some good football pressure free.

Don't really want to post as I don't get too caught up in rumours but there are so many now about Declan Rice coming to is what's everyone's feelings on this and is it no more than click bait.

Beefy08

1.) 26 Jan 2023 21:31:19
Suppose to say us not is don't know how to edit ?.

{Ed014's Note - no probs Beefy I’m posters will know what you meant. Personally I’d be amazed if we got him, they want huge money.

Most likely click bait I’d imagine but we can always hope.

2.) 26 Jan 2023 21:37:47
Would be a great addition but would he force his way to a starting spot in our current strongest 11 I don't think he would.

{Ed014's Note - that’s the other issue Beefy, Rice is to bigger player already that why I’d be more hopeful we got Caciedo.

We’ve also been linked to another midfielder Zubimendi but again no idea how genuine that is.

3.) 26 Jan 2023 21:45:47
I haven't seen much of caciedio but heard good things
But never heard of the other guy but to be honest I hadn't heard of odergard before we took him on loan.

{Ed014's Note - he’s a 23yr old defensive mid who plays for Real Sociedad, talking of a fee in excess of £50 million.

Supposed to favour a move to us over Barcelona. Seeing is believing again.

4.) 26 Jan 2023 21:55:05
I just googled him .
Thanks for your responses tonight seems i got my own private chat. Lol
All I can say is at the moment what a time to be a gooner still don't believe that we will win the league but I honestly doubted we would even get top 4 so I am over the moon.
And let's keep going 1 game at a time.

{Ed014's Note - haha no probs Beefy and it is mate and I think we’re all just loving to see where this season takes us.

5.) 26 Jan 2023 22:54:41
I'd love Rice to join us but how many players have been repeatedly linked to Arsenal so far this month by the media and social media 10, 20, 30, 40, 50?

Only 2 players have actually joined us and the media didn't predict either of them, they simply reported the fact we'd signed them once it actually happened. Definitely 100% click bait, sadly.

{Ed014's Note - agree mate it just gets ridiculous

I have read most of the posts on here recently and agree with a lot of the points but it takes a good few seasons to re build getting rid of dead wood signing new players ect.
How long did it take Klopp to re build Liverpool.
I feel we are close only a few players short I think we missed a trick not signing a world class striker in January but if the players are not available or out of our price range there is not much the club can do.
I for one didn't expect to be in the chase for a Europe postion this season let alone the chance all be it slim a champions league spot and although we looked to have champions league sowed up I am still happy that we have showed some fight this season.
I know i will probably get lots of negative comments comments to this but this is my opinion.

Agree with u beefy. Let's all get behind the boys show the we will be behind them come rain or sunshine.

2.) 19 Apr 2022 11:09:12
It's so interesting to see the different takes on our club Beefy.
Makes the world go round ?.

3.) 19 Apr 2022 13:23:46
Your entitled to your views Beefyo8 mate and it's great you and some of the posters are sticking up for the team. On a personal note I get so so frustrated when I see how we play and our mental approach to games. I come on here to vent my feelings.
The last 3 defeats despite our injuries should have not happened and to go to a great chance of CL to now a possibility of not even Europa is unacceptable.

4.) 19 Apr 2022 13:39:56
What interests me is how part of the fan base always double down on this notion that the future holds promise whether there is legitimacy to the counter argument or not.
It’s almost like there’s this desperate need to be seen as a more of a fan than those who demand better based on their perception of what being a loyal fan represents. In the cases where football club hierarchy’s need to be challenged these virtuous fans are enablers and do nothing but hinder progress. Loyalty to the club can be reflected more in dissent against a board or manager than blindly trusting in some rebuild or ‘process’. The push from owners to form a super league and the universal pushback from that serves as a recent reminder that custodians of your club don’t always have your best interests at heart.
As an Arsenal fan it would have been deplorable to have found a place in such a league based on history considering the last decades on field performances and off field lack of desire to pursue real progress. A passive owner all of a sudden rubbing his hands together at the idea of a short cut to massive turnover after showing little to no intent these last few years. The idea they considered it is revealing enough.
Rebuilds are unique to the persons initiating them. We’ve had an Emery rebuild. We’re now having an Arteta rebuild. If you didn’t know which manager was which and looked at the results over each season you wouldn’t be able to choose between them.
It just fascinates me how many of the self proclaimed ‘loyal’ fans readily consign one managers poor effort to history and readily roll behind the incoming ones rebuild in complete blind faith.
I’m not taking aim at you Beefy or labelling you as such I’m only speaking from my experience with fans such as those.
All I’ll say is that if I was a billionaire businessman investing in a football club and has no interest in on field success I would do everything Stan Kroenke has done up to now to divide the fan base and every now and again throw the odd bone to pacify if by some miracle there was a universally organised pushback.
He has a massive club, on one of the biggest cities in the world, globally recognised brand. In his eyes there’s no such thing as bad publicity and poor on field displays still have Arsenal trending worldwide. He doesn’t need to do anything but keep the wheel moving and if rubbish hits the fans ‘loyal’ fans will put the fires out for him.
Perfect.

5.) 19 Apr 2022 21:29:26
Read all your recent posts and agreed with some and not other parts! I am at the moment MA in and always willing to listen to better options! This is where I am not sure about your posts! If MA isn’t the answer and I’m not totally convinced he is, who is the answer moving forward? VTH.

6.) 20 Apr 2022 21:53:43
I’m not MA out Sussex. I’m saying he was the wrong appointment for what we needed at the time.
The state we were in did not call for a first time manager who would be learning on the job.
There’s an awful lot to like, but plenty of question marks around man management and temperament.
I’m more than happy to have him, as long as the talk is matched by walk.

7.) 20 Apr 2022 22:31:51
Fair points Shambo - we are a young team and will be inconsistent . The players are still playing for MA and that`s half the battle! Glad you watched too haha VTH.

8.) 20 Apr 2022 23:13:24
Hahahah I can’t help myself mate.

21 Feb 2022 22:51:47
Another quick post about something I asked before we signed Ben White, with Saliba performing so well do you see him coming into the squad next year and us playing playing a back 3 I think kieran and tomiyasu ( sorry about the spelling) would suit wing back roles and that would leave holding, tavares and cedric to fill in the wing back roles and also leave holding and tomiyasu to fill in at center back.
Then i would play 4 in midfield party, odergard, esw, and saka with Martinelli through the middle that's obviously without any new incoming players.

1.) 22 Feb 2022 00:15:13
I have never been a fan of the 5 defenders Beefy, as you always sacrifice a forward player to accommodate the extra defender. However, if you don’t have any forwards I guess why not!

2.) 22 Feb 2022 01:16:00
As a Chelsea fan (who’s seen a few 3 at the back managers) I would not advocate a 3 at the back system in general. From what I’ve seen of Tomayisu he doesn’t seem like a RWB and as seen by Chelsea this season, you need Quality backups in case of injury or you suffer enormously. 3 at the back only works if you have WB’s who have both fantastic stamina and great quality in the final third as they’re generally your creative outlet.

3.) 22 Feb 2022 14:01:05
I agree on what you need to make the 5 at the back system work well Fuser, ideally you need 4 quality WB with the energy and stamina needed to get up and back for 70 to 90 minutes depending on what you have on the bench to replace them plus you ideally need the middle CB to be a sweeper who is good and reading the game and good with the ball and capable of becoming your DM when your on the attack.

Played well with the right players it's a very tough system to beat but when you try and use players who aren't up to playing the system well you will definitely get exposed and be lacking in attacking force.

4.) 22 Feb 2022 14:44:23
Think managers tend to go 5 at the back if he doesn`t trust his two centre backs and MA trusts White and Gabriel. System seems to be working so bring back Saliba and let the three of them plus Holding fight it out. Quality competition for places something we haven`t had for a while. On Bissouma I imagine teams waiting for his court case to disappear / go ahead and if he`s in the clear there will be a mad scramble for him in the Summer. Fourth place a must for us to be in with a chance COYG.

5.) 22 Feb 2022 16:36:44
You ok Sussex? . You went missing for a while.

6.) 22 Feb 2022 20:08:46
All good Mal - read site at least five times a day just enjoying the improvement, impressed we went for Vlahovic and didn’t get so decided to go with what we’ve got!

Seem to be streamlining but hoping more quality to come in! As long as we are improving I’m behind MA except after one game where I said he’s got to go ?? all good here thanks for asking ?COYG.

7.) 22 Feb 2022 20:59:10
Gloucestershire your back mate;-)
As Mark says we was a bit worried about you geezer, glad your OK mate ???.

8.) 23 Feb 2022 09:07:32
All good 365 ridiculously let first world problems take over - quite sobering to be fair! COYG.

9.) 23 Feb 2022 19:40:53
We are all guilty of that sometimes Pembrokeshire mate ?.

21 Feb 2022 22:43:19
Just to say I am not one to go by stats but the last 10 games when Party and Xhaka have been together we have won 8 lost 2.
To me and I can no way do the maths but that's fairly good now I don't for one minute think we can't upgrade on Xhaka and Party seems to be hitting some form but the way we seem to building a squad we are looking at young talent and apart from maybe Declan Rice who would cost us 100 mill who else do people think we should go for to get rid of the very very much unlike Xhaka.
I would look at someone like jude Bellingham but again you are talking big money anyone got any more likely candidates.

Beefy08

1.) 22 Feb 2022 00:13:45
Based on his performances over the past 2 seasons, it has to be Bissouma for me Beefy. I think ideally to replace Xhaka and partner Partey, but being honest, he can replace either of them.

2.) 22 Feb 2022 16:17:05
I would put ward prowse into the mix. Really rate him. Obviously not a world beater, but goes about his job with no nonsense, and is probably a minimum of 7/ 10 every game.

This has been the first season in a long time I have watched every game I can due to the passion being back.
Anyone who says we have bottled it are entitled to their opinion but really we are still top and 5 points clear and still hold our fate in our own hands if you had said we would be at this point at the start of the season I would have laughed at them.
This is still a young squad and what they have achieved no matter where we finish I am so proud of then and we all need to get behind them for the last few games.
Also is it any wonder there levels drop with all the online abuse they have received after the last couple of performances people need to remember that they are human.

Trust the process and keep our fingers crossed we are performing above and beyond where I think most of us realistically believed we would so let's just sit back and enjoy what will be.

Beefy08

{Ed014's Note - definitely mate and my expectations for this season remain ensuring we qualify for Europe, anything above that will be an unexpected but pleasant bonus.

I personally think we have made the right choice I can remember the club being slated for not bringing in Bissouma at the time and losing him to spurs and that hasn't worked out great for them.

Jorginho is proven in the Premier league and will be a calm and steady player to help our youngsters bring the title back where it belongs.

Beefy08

{Ed014's Note - just watched his first interview on the Arsenal website and he came across really well mate and he spoke of bringing his experience and hard work to the table.

I have been thinking about this and what if it was a choice between Caicedo now or Rice in the summer and the manager and management at the club have decided to save the money for rice and bring in a proven player for less now so we can pursue our main target In the summer.

I know the rumours where we wanted them both but I don't see us having that kind of money .

Beefy08

{Ed014's Note - well it was defo intended to be Caicedo this month, league winners brings with it more cash and if you want to win old big ears then bringing Rice in too would seem a must.

The club now seem willing to speculate to accumulate Beefy.
