Tierney had been one of our best players how is Tavares still in the team after last weeks shocker. I thought we were better with lacazette as well so drop him instead for odergard who's had one free kick and done nothing else. baffled.

Maybe arteta played Tavares to show, although made a mistake last week, he still trusts him. keep his confidence up, create good squad spirit. Who knows. If it is that, then i think great call, as we all know Tierney will play against utd.

I do think that if saka injury keeps him out of utd game, I wouldn't be dissapointed if arteta went with tierney left back and tavares in front of him. Offers more offensively and can double up with Tierney, and both could interchange.

{Ed014's Note - Saka looked fine sat on the bench afterwards, seemed more like an impact injury rather than muscle but agree wouldn’t be unhappy to see them both.

I agree Ramsgate mate Arteta made a very good call today, I'm hoping this is a sign of Arteta maturing as a manager and being more thoughtful rather than reactionary to a bad result and performance.

Last season he did tend to go for the easy soft option in dropping lesser profile players as his default reaction to bad results but today he didn't do that and now we have a young player who has his confidence fully restored and his performance at Liverpool is now old news he's free to move on from.

I like KT, but he seems another of those players who are injury prone for us, yet strangely always seems to be fit to play for his country. So having someone competing for his team spot is brilliant.
