Luiz goes.

It's a start.

Hopefully Will I Aren't will follow suit and fall on his contractual sword.

One down, fourteen to go.

14? They are all capable of much more than we've seen from them, including Willian Partey and Gabriel, all were decent players pre Arsenal Max mate.

Why do so few Arsenal singings work out well? Answer that before playing pass the parcel one more time.

I was pleased they signed Willian. Never hit it off with us. Complained about Arteta’s management style, retracted statement and amended it but still complained and never got out of second gear. why?

Partey - same.

Saliba -?

AMN and JW - how are they doing on loan

Something isn’t right.

I was pleased we signed Willian SY4, but then we had the season we have had and he has under-performed so persistently.

And yes gunner 62, 14 (or so) for me should follow Luiz out the door. I am by no means convinced by Arteta - I am (sadly) firmly in the "Arteta - Oot! " camp, but I suspect the Board are sticking with him, and occassionally he does something that makes me think he just could be a decent Manager, and so therefore am I.
Much as I don't want to.

For the record those who I would happily see go are
1. Leno - he's bang average
2. Runarsson - do I need to say more?
3. Hector - I've loved him, but he's past it due to injury and we might get a few decent quid for him, plus I think Chambers has played exceptionally well there, even if he isn't to be our first-choice pick at right back/ right wing back.
4. Dani Ceballos: the Emporer's New Clothes v2.0
5. Granit Xhaka. He's alright. But only once in a hundred games
6. Willian: not the maestro we hoped he be. Chelsea tend to know.
7. Reiss Nelson: he's been here long enough and is just below Premier League class by the look of it.
8. Eddie Nketiah: see Reiss Nelson.
9. Sead Kolasinac: nearly gone. Now just get him gone.
10. Lucas Torreira: I quite liked him, but he's clearly a busted flush under current regime, so let's get some cash back for him.
11. Gunedouzi: boy-child suffering from the horrid disease known to Doctors as "Bendtnerism".
12. Ainsley Maitland-Niles: decent lad, but Arsenal seem hell-bent in never giving him to play in his favoured position and the emergence of other's has shut the door on his Areseanl career, rightly or wrongly.
13. Mavropanos: we simply have enough CD's in Gabriel, Saliba, Holding, Mari, Chambers and Harry Clarke/ Zech Medley/ Omar Rekik.
14. One of PEA or Lacazette. I love them both - mostly - and think Lacazette is mis-managed by Arteta: he is excellent but gets so few decent runs in the team. His contract status is now an issue. Either sell him now or commit to him. PEA is different. We are saddled with him now and of course he can be great. But we have Martinelli, Pépé (yes, Pépé - I like him) Balogun, and if we commit as suggested Lacazette.

I would love to see - and be willing to be patient with Arteta, or whoever is in charge, if we then promoted from the Under 23's and played them to see if they could cut the mustard
* Arthur Okonkwo
* Omar Rekik
* Bola or Lopez as understudy leftback
* Miguel Azeez
* Matt Smith
* Catalin Cirjan
* Folarin Balogun
* Kido Taylor-Hart

Of course, I entirely accept not all our Academy starlets will translate into Premier League players of note - very few do = but Azeez, Balogun and Kido Taylor-Hart are three who have excellent reoputations and are highly thought of. I'm not saying they should all be in the in the starting line up, but get them into the squad.

I'd like to buy someone like Tariq Lamptey, and Sander Berge in to play as a defensive midfielder with Partey and Elneny (not all at once! ) or many on here prefer Bissouma (I don't see it, but sheer weight of volume suggest I might be missing something and the fact that clubs like Liverpool are allegedly interested in him) .
I don't think we have to spend wildly - and anyway, we won't!

I am ambivalent about Odegaard. Good if we get him, not the end of the world if we don't.

I love my cub and feel miserable with watching us becoming also-rans but I'd tolerate a period of not being competing at the top if we showed we at least have a plan, if we play with the verve and brio encapsulated by the likes of Emile Smith-Rowe and Bukayo Sako, with the passion and grit and sheer will to play as best they can in the likes of Rob Holding. Mohammed Elneny, Calum Chambers.

In Pépé, Martinelli, Folarin Balogun we have three players who suggest a position as a striker might be their long-term best positions.

As someone (brilliantly, in my opinion) posted on here very recently, the future (could be) bright. It could be.

If only we had some leadership, guts and a plan.
Edu, Kroenke, Joorabchian et al could do one too. Those would be other great departures from our beloved club.

Agree with almost all of that! Would keep Laca and Xhaka! Still giggling at Will I Aren`t! COYG.

Hard to disagree with that list CMF. Sadly I don’t think we will raise much, in fact I fear most would have to be allowed to leave on a freebie to get rid of them. A couple are also down to their last year, and Torreira, if the papers are correct, will only accept a move back home to a club that can’t afford any transfer fee. However clearing the decks and pushing youth into those lower squad positions can only be a good thing. Seems to be working well for German clubs so it’s about time premiership teams started to give it a go. Not finishing in the top 4 is acceptable, but finishing mid-table, while only using the same players who achieved nothing the seasons before, is very unacceptable.
