The stalemate on Gyokeres is all a bit frustrating, surely they must have other irons in the fire or are we going to cut out nose off to spite our face.
If we don't get a striker then Arteta has to go, the club have spent a lot of money over the last few seasons without reward.
I can't see us going for Eze now we have Madueke BUT BUT BUT, the priority has to be a striker, is it a case of Arteta preferring Kai? It's all a bit baffling.
{Ed025's Note - baffling has tuned into pathetic for me Banbury mate..

I was being kind lol but can't disagree with your comment, it's all rather laughable how we mess about if things don't go our way.

Personally i've been pleased with the window so far. Deals for Gyökeres and Mosquera look close to being completed and i fully expect them to join soon. I believe a left winger will join too since that's supposed to be one of our primary targets this window and we have been linked with quite a few players.
Maybe this is too greedy but i'd still like to see an overlapping left back join. Perhaps sell Kiwior if a suitable offer comes and move Calafiori to cb in order to make foom for a fullback.
In terms of sales not a lot has happened so let's see if we can do a bit more there. But there's plenty of time still.
Overall certainly not a pathetic window for me so far.

Surely it would be Berta's fault if we're pissing about in negotiations, isn't that his job?
The other week when everything looked rosy everyone was praising Berta, but if the deal goes tits up it will be Arteta's fault?

You do all realise that it’s not Arsenal stalling its sporting they are being funny with the add ons they want the 8.5m in add ons to be very easy ie 10goals they get 2m as an example, so the stalling has nothing to do with us the sporting director keeps moving the goal posts,

Yes I just read the add ons being asked for look pretty easy money for Sporting.
2.5m if he plays 20 games, another 2.5m if he plays 40 games, another 2.5m if we qualify for CL and another 2.5m if he plays 20 times in the 26/ 27 campaign. If this is true I can understand Berta being cautious.
Of course the report might be rubbish lol.

That's one way to look at it, Voddy. It can also be said that Arsenal are stalling by not just conceding the 10 million. Winning just a single prem title in the lad's 5 year contract and that's 10 million well spent.

Sack Arteta because Berta wanted to negtioate the fees makes perfect sense. Berta has a long relationship with Gyokeres and has worked with him many times. Berta is making a name for himself as being Mr Negotiator and I am enjoying the circus to some extend. However its making the club also look really weak, if it was me personally for the sake of 10mill, I would have paid all of it forget the add ons. Allows us to use the player as we want when we want. I can just imagine the powers that B restricting Gyokeres play time to make the finiancials work out. I just hope he has a plan B if things do go tits up just to be in the safe side. I think Gyokeres will be our player come 1st September. I would have hoped he could have joined us on in the pre season. If anything if we don't land the players we want we know the blame is not with Arteta, who has identified positions where he thinks we need to strengthen. Still over a month left and i'm hopeful we will get them have faith. Enjoy the sun.
